One of the better Indo-fusion restaurants in the CH area. Wonderful food, great staff, and super clean to boot. Prices are way reasonable and you definitely get what you pay for. A go-to place for foodies wanting good eats!

Very solid Chinese food. Haven’t tried the Indian food. Our favorite dishes are the beef ho fun and pork lo mein. The beef is tender and well marinated and it comes with lots of vegetables. The lo mein comes with a generous amount of marinated pork and lots of vegetables. My only minor complaint is that the noodles tend to be slightly overcooked but that could be because it continues cooking in the takeout container. The sesame chicken is tasty if you like a thick batter around the chicken pieces. It’s large chunks of white meat chicken in a sweet glaze with steamed broccoli. We’ve gotten takeout several times and dined in for lunch once. Most of their business is takeout. They’re fast and polite. The prices are on the higher side and their portions are smaller than a typical Chinese restaurant. However, I believe you get what you pay for and the beef, chicken and pork here is obviously high quality. I would gladly pay for this than wonder what part of the chicken I’m eating or choke down grisly fatty beef like I have elsewhere. I wouldn’t go back for lunch. The wonton soup was very disappointing. It was a single wonton with a tiny chunk of ground pork in the center of a thick wrapper floating in lukewarm bland oily broth. The vegetable spring roll was freshly fried but full of a bland mixture of cabbage and carrots. The dipping sauce made it decent. The fried rice was basically greasy rice with a bit of soy sauce and egg. So what appeared to be a good value really wasn’t because the soup/spring roll and fried rice you get with your entrée are basically a joke. Parking is free and plentiful.

Maybe I came at an off time, but I’m not sure staff members should be lying in the booths while customers are in the restaurant. I ordered the orange chicken which was dry and chewy. Had it not been for the thick sauce, it would have not been palatable. On the bright side, the service was friendly. If you are looking for Chinese food, I’m sure there are better alternatives.

I have gone there twice, getting different food each time. Each time there were some things I really liked and some things that were just meh. In general, I think the Indian food is a bit better than the Chinese food.

Four of us ate dinner here tonight(Sunday, 2015-08-23) and we all enjoyed it. The appetizers were good(especially the samosas) and we all liked the entrees we ordered. I had the Manchurian Chicken and thought the texture and sweet/spicy seasoning were quite good. My wife liked their take on Kung Po chicken. For a casual dining experience, we will definitely go back. I imagine we’ll try the take one night as well.

Authentic North Indian food in Chapel Hill! So happy to have found this gem — authentic North Indian Dishes like Murgh Makhani, Basmati Rice and Kathi roll. Even my Dad who has travelled all over India agreed that it was the best Mugh Makhani and rice pudding in Chapel Hill Delicious Rice Pudding and Kulfi and Gulab Jamun too

This is a nice little restaurant that’s really found it’s groove. Some menu items are Chinese, some are Indian, and some are Indi-Chinese fusion. LOTS of gluten free and vegetarian options. The service is good, too. No problem coming in for lunch on a weekday and getting back to work in an hour. My office has placed large lunch orders for pickup and they’ve done a great job. The owner is very nice and personable, when he’s able to he stops by each table to check in. Favorites are the Yum-Yum fried rice, steamed pork dumplings, Honey Walnut Chicken, Palek Paneer, Vindaloo, and the seriously awesome Singapore Noodles.

RASA is a great concept with their offerings of Chinese and Indian cuisine all under one roof. There is always something that I can find on the menu that is tasty. My problem with Rasa is their lunch service. I have been there two times in the last three weeks and there appears to only be one server working with«assistance» at times from the hostess. This place gets fairly buy at lunch as this is the only one of its kind in this area. I would actually be inclined to go more often if it wasn’t so long of a wait at lunch. The management really needs to add more staff! If you are in a hurry, think twice before choosing this establishment for lunch. If you are not in a hurry, you shouldn’t have any problems.

I was traveling through NC and when I saw Indo Chinese and with the reviews of the place I was like this the place to eat and was really disappointed with the food !! We were a group of 12 and almost ordered every thing of the menu and felt as if a Local Chinese joint would make better food than what was served !!! If you are from India and expect this to be any close to Indo Chinese from back home then this place is not an option!

Ordered takeout tonight. The Pad Thai barely had any vegetables and it was dry and tasteless. The vegetable fried rice we ordered without onions, and it came with onions. Also tasteless. I will say that the staff was very friendly. Probably our last experience here.

Lunch on a Saturday. Great lunch combo deals($ 6.95-$ 7.95) that satisfied both the Indian-leaning and Chinese-leaning palates in my group. The Indian food was well done, delicately prepared with quality ingredients, spicy when it was supposed to be spicy, and several notches above your garden variety Indian joint. I’d classify this as a more affordable version of Saffron(not its current incarnation, «Raaga») or Cholanad. Warning: the Chinese food aficionados in my group took issue with the veggie dumpling wrappers on both the steamed and fried versions(like wonton wrappers and not homemade), but the rest of us liked the texture of the wrappers and the mushroomy filling. Will return in a heartbeat. Most impressed, especially for the price.

I was actually really excited to see a new fusion restaurant enter the Chapel Hill neighborhoods, but I left utterly disappointed. I would consider myself a fan of both Chinese and Indian food, and I felt that Rasa was very confused with its identity and didn’t really succeed at either type of cuisine. The prices are very reasonable(less than $ 10 for a very filling lunch), so that is one redeeming quality about the restaurant. I had the Baingan Bhartha, which was an mashed eggplant dish featured in the vegetarian section of the lunch menu. One thing that I really did like was that with each lunch order, you have the choice of many different types of rice — white, brown, fried, or basmati. I love having this type of flexibility in choosing my dishes. However, when I did get my eggplant dish, it looked pretty unappetizing to the eye, but it also tasted so greasy! I couldn’t even finish half of my dish because I just felt like what I was eating was so heavy and covered my mouth in oil. My dad wound up ordering a chicken dish from the Indi-Chinese section of the menu, and although I couldn’t try the dish(since I’m vegetarian), it also didn’t look too appetizing. The chicken looked like a typical dish from an Americanized Chinese restaurant, and neither me nor my dad could detect any Indian influence in the dish at all. The Garlic Naan we ordered was also more oily than I had anticipated, and it was chewier than most naans that I’m used to. Overall, I wasn’t too satisfied with my meal here. Being a more health-conscious eater, I did not appreciate at all the excessive use of oil in the cooking. But if you’re looking for a quick and cheap fix in the Chapel Hill area, I guess Rasa would be a potential option.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! The wanton soup has a nice spice to it and the crab Rangoon’s are perfect. Little on the pricy side but good for an every now and then visit. Can’t speak to table side service as we did take out.

Still 4 stars. I’ve tried some Chinese dishes now, everything was still delicious. I have to say the service is SO friendly every time I’ve been. I usually just get takeout but the people at the front have always been super with their customer service — offering water or drinks while you wait, and making sure you have everything you need(chutney, all sauces, etc).

So… word of advice to Indians looking for Indian-Chinese food. This is not the place. I repeat — this is NOT the place. You will be better off going to Inchin. This is a restaurant serving Indian AND Chinese food. I have not tried the Indian food so can’t tell you how it is. Would like to mention we were the only Indians there… so potentially not your authentic Indian food? We ordered the drums of heaven as appetizer. Fried chicken wings and legs with a very mild flavor of the ginger and onion marinade. Very average. Chilli chicken and Manchurian chicken as main entrees. Very meh. Clearly the chef did not know the actual preparation for both. Tasted like Chinese preparations you get at any average strip mall Chinese place. In fact, the chili chicken tasted like General tso ‘s. :( Service was dismal. We asked for water. Waited 10 mins and got it. Asked for an extra bowl of rice. Never got it. Food did not come with silverware and napkins. Never got it from the server. The hostess saw us waiting and took pity on us and got them. It has been a while since I left a less than 20% tip. So, if you are looking for average Chinese then go there. If you are looking for Indian-Chinese food, go somewhere else. Don’t let the description of the food in the website fool you. There are too many much better Indian places here in the triangle…

My favorite take out restaurant in north chapel hill. I have eaten here many times since they opened. Both their Indian specialties and greatest hits of Chinese cuisine are spectacular!

Neither Indian nor Chinese was along expected lines… If you are looking for indo-chinese like what came out of tangra in calcutta, then you will be disappointed. The food was way too sugary and lacked spiciness. The hot and sour soup tasted like mild rasam. I had really hoped to write a better review considering that the place is new, but these guys didn’t even leave any scope for sympathy. The food was downright bad…

I really like this place. I love their rasa chili chicken/tofu, and their Indian is solid. Most of their Chinese has that Malaysian flair which is nice. Been back maybe 5 times and it’s been consistent. It’s not high end asian cuisine, but it’s our go-to whenever we feel like asian take out since it’s not the normal greasy american chinese food.

Great all in all. Visited today(Tuesday afternoon) after the lunch rush and wasn’t disappointed. Service was very attentive and made sure we didn’t want for anything. Owner walked around and asked us and those around if everything was ok. Food was great, I ordered the Hot Garlic Sauce Chicken with brown rice and, for lunch portion, it was more than enough. The spice was just right. Enough to feel but not enough to leave your mouth burning. Although if you really like spicy food, I’m sure you could ask them to add more. The lentil soup was very flavorful but a bit watery, but I was fine with it. Overall, I really enjoyed the place and will definitely be coming back!

Great vegetarian Indian food! The lentil soup was rather watery, but the chickpea sautéed with pomegranate seeds and malai kofta was great! We would come again.
