If you are a first time visitor, try the freshly baked Pan De Sal rolls. You can never go wrong with the freshly baked Pan De Sal rolls… you can smell them as you walk into the bakery! I’ve been a customer of Valerio’s for years, and Pan De Sal from this location always takes me back to my childhood. No one else’s rolls tastes as great as theirs. I wish the wheat Pan De Sal rolls were baked fresh too. One thing that I always buy here along with the rolls is the Turon… this place by far(in my opinion) has the best Turon! Filled a good portion of the banana, perfectly fried, and tastes delicious. I am never disappointed after visiting Valerio’s. Prices are very affordable and they offer a variety of baked goods at this location that will satisfy anyone’s taste buds!

I love this bakery. It reminds me the bakeries back in Manila. Not the fancy corporate owned ones, but the small mom and pop ones local to your area. They have all kinds of bread — several variations of the pandesal(regular, cheese, wheat). They are several kinds of ensaymada(brioche). They have sapin sapin(a classic 3 layered rice cake with each layer being a different color). In the morning, they have taho. Taho is a warm soy bowl of awesomeness. It’s served with syrup and tapioca balls. Great for breakfast or snack. They also have banana cue(saba bananas fried in caramel and served on a stick). Karioca(mochi balls fried in caramel) and turon(saba banana with jackfruit wrapped in eggroll wrapper and fried in caramel). This place does not take debit or credit cards — it’s CASH only. The prices are cheap, the food is good and for all Filipinos, it brings a little bit of nostalgia in our lives.

Valerio’s is a small Filipino bakery right next to Seafood City. My all time favorite is their pandesal or «bread rolls» in English & it’s definitely a must try, it’s best eaten when fresh and straight out of the oven! They have a variety of fresh pastries out so it’s not the same everyday, there’s always a lot to choose from. Not a big fan of the packaged breads but some of them are pretty good! The prices are pretty reasonable, usually $ 0.60 per piece! Valerio’s is always my go to Bakery when I want Filipino pastries and bread.

We bought some sweet treats from here yesterday and today there is mold in and out of the hopia ube! We had a bad experience in the past which we pushed to the side and now this again. Plus its super hot and uncomfortable in the bakery… Tooooo hot for the bread to be sitting out like that! Last time it was a long thick hair baked in the meat bun… This time moldy mess. No more!

Came around 1 pm to get wheat pan de sal and siopao. I’ve been to lots of other Valerios where the shelves are bursting with diabetes inducing baked goods, but this definitely was not one of them. I walked in to a bakery full of EMPTYSHELVES. It’s like 1 pm? What the face? I went to a vietnamese bakery earlier that same day at 9am and they were already pumping put freshly made goods. Despite the empty shelves, I asked the lady if they had pan de sal she replies with, «130». Ummm okay 130 what? Per pan de sal? Per dozen? What ever happened to full sentences? Apparently it meant that they wouldn’t have any until 1:30 that day. Then I asked about siopao and again a monosyllabic reply«4» –meaning it won’t be ready til 4pm. Why would you wait til the afternoon to make stuff? Empty shelves and rude responses – I will not be back to this location.

Love this place!!! Their turon is the best I’ve had. No one can match their turon!!! Their chicken empanadas are the bomb and again, I’ve not found anywhere else that can match their quality. The pan de sal is good and their sweet cream cheese bread(I always forget the name) is super yummy. The people here are VERY sweet and are always happy to help and see shoppers in their little bakery. I’m not Filipino, but they treat me with the same grade of respect. That’s saying a lot, because most Filipino establishments are not run this way. Go valerios!

FRESHPANDESAL&CHEESEROLLS. Food: a larger inventory than previous years (+) fresh (+) pan de sal is freshly baked Service: Employees are generally friendly, but during my most recent visit, the lady at the register was crabby and stressed out. She also mostly speaks only in Tagalog. Wait Time: LONGLINE – wait time was around 15 – 20 mins to get to the front Prices: cheap When I was a kid, I’d come here for their UBE or MANGOICECREAM. I’m not sure if they still sell those anymore. COMFORTCARBS: Get your fresh pan de sal and cheese rolls here!

Something yummy’s baking in the oven! Valerio’s is a local Pilipino bakeshop that I’ve been frequenting for many years. They don’t offer wedding cakes, cake pops, macarons etc., but what they do offer is fresh breads(like the ubiquitous pan de sal), assorted kakanin(rice desserts such as kalamay & biko) & some savory dishes hot or in the refrigerator. People rave about their chicken empanadas, Pinoy-style w/raisins. Myself, I love their hopia(monggo, ube & red bean are what I buy). In the morning & until they run out for the day, Valerio’s sells taho, a sweet tofu dessert w/brown sugar & sago pearls. It’s a dish usually eaten warm, but I also like it cold. Whenever I shop for groceries at Seafood City, I come by & see if there’s any left– Parking can be bad on the weekends, w/everyone shopping for groceries. During the week, not bad at all. Side note — there is a Fruit monger selling fruits out of his van in front of the store. He’ll have whatever’s in season. I had the chance to try cherimoya for the first time here a long while ago & it instantly became my favorite fruit. I now have 5 grafted trees in 5 gal containers in the backyard, because they are very expensive to buy(around $ 5/lb) & are very tasty. Matamis!(Sweet in Tagalog).

Ugh. Forget about any service if you don’t speak tagalog. My aunt and I came here a couple years ago. She had some questions about the flan in the fridge. The lady at the counter gave us a dirty look and started talking to another customer in tagalog. I am never coming back here.

Small Filipino bakery with a steady flow of traffic. Very bare bones and the bread items are the main show stopper I guess. I didn’t try much here so I am sorry to only give 3 stars, but the place usually doesn’t have a huge selection and when my bf and I ordered the Chicken Siao Pao, it was much more bready/dense than I would have liked. I also got the orange colored rice cakes which were also average in my opinion. I probably ordered the wrong things but I wasn’t overly impressed with my previous visits either. I guess I would bump it up if I try their other popular items.

My review will strictly be on what I ordered: Cheese Rolls — Ok, so these are nothing like the famous Porto’s but damn are these good. The bread is nice, soft, & tender. A nice thick sliver of cream cheese is placed smack dab in the center and it is smothers in butter and sugar. Pan de Sal — The pan de sal they have here is only good when fresh. If you are looking for pan de sal that is good when you re-heat it at home, then buy the Betsy’s brand that can be found at most filipino markets and bakeries. Pan de Ube — Probably one of my favorite combos — bread & ube. OVERALL — It’s great to swing by if you are looking for a quick filipino bread fix or even to buy some snacks for a friend you are visiting. Like I always say, YOUWON’T KNOWUNLESSYOUTRYITFORYOURSELF!

This is a little hole-in-the-wall Filipino bakery across the parking lot from Jollibee. As others have mentioned, I usually come here to purchase pan de sal, especially when they’re fresh and hot out of the oven! :-) The aroma of the pan del sal baking is enough to get my mouth watering. They have other baked goodies as well, such as the cheese rolls, pan de racion(made with pineapple juice), ensaymada and the best empanadas(meat pies) on the planet! The busiest times of the year are around the holidays and Easter. So if you want to get hot pan de sal during these times, it’s best to get there when they first open the door for business because the line can form rather quickly and be out the door in no time. Someone else mentioned that this establishment is CASHONLY so be sure to pass by your ATM before coming here.

Been coming here for years! Cheese rolls and warm pan de sal are the staples. My recent favorite is the cheese pan de sal. It’s not like the ensaymada where it’s like shredded cheese on top. It’s more like baked into the pan de sal I think. Anyways, I just ate half a bag and I’m not ashamed at all. Except maybe when my dad asks me why there’s none left. Oops.

BESTPINOYCHICKENEMPANADASINALLOFAMERICA!!! AHHh… and cheap and delicious Turon. It’s kind of hard to find, but look hard and don’t get distracted by that nasty thing JOLLIBEE. Just keep your eye on Valerios and indulge in some of their amazing baked goods like Pan de Sal, hopia, or ensaymada(but the ensaymada is pretty commercial, I’d say its at the level of Goldilocks or Red Ribbon… but those places are popular and delicious for a reason!!) Yet, can’t say it enough, their most homecooked and delicious item that they offer is their chicken empanadas… Buy them by the dozen!

Their Pan de Sal rocks. It’s best to get it fresh and hot. I believe they bake fresh ones in the morning when they open and at 4pm. I usually eat 2 in the car on my way home, it’s that good. The smell of fresh baked pan de sal is awesome. They also sell a lot of other bake goodies that are good, but I come here for the Pan de Sal.

The Valerio’s here in Cerritos is pretty much the same up in Union City: delicious aromas and cheap prices. By 11:30am the cheese rolls were almost out(I got the last four), but they always have hot and fresh pan de sal ready to go. For $ 12 I got 4 cheese rolls, 4 ensaymada, 4 sugar coated donut things(I forget the name), a dozen pan de sal, a bag of six pan de ube, and a stick of 4 carioca. That’s a lot of food for just 12 bucks! And all delicious. I prefer Valerio’s over Goldilocks; they’re cheaper and I think they taste better

Short & Sweet… It’s a place where Filipinos go to get their bread & pastry fix. I use to come to this place all the time back when I was in middle school(2 scoops of ube ice cream, PLEASE!). Highlights & Low-lights: *Get ‘em while their hot *Prices went up *Can someone please hire their daughter that can cater to the young & less fortunate Filipinos that can’t speak the language(I personally don’t care– it’s for the benefit of others) I just don’t know how to pin point it BUT Valerio’s just isn’t the same anymore. I will need to revisit soon!
