My husband and I occasionally like to meet up after work(when our schedules let us) this is a good stopping point for us. We start off with Chips and Salsa which by the way has made an upgrade from the old Serranos. I LOVEIT. Still the same recipe but chunkier and better tasting almost like a fresher taste.YUM. Decided to do light I ordered Tortilla Soup which has made a massive upgrade or NEWCHEF? SOOGOOD. Chicken is moist and not dry, broth is full of flavor not blandish like before. My margarita @ happy hour was on point. Whatever you have done Serranos. Keep doing it, this is a great start to a New Year… keep this version of yourself ITSSOOMUCHBETTER.

Serranos is our go-to Tex Mex. Our server Michael was doing a fine job. My husband ordered Pollo Loco fajitas as usual. My boys had the kids enchiladas. All tasty. Then I dug into my usual –meaning the only dish I’ve ordered here in the last five years of regular patronage – shrimp enchiladas with Poblano Cream Sauce. Except it wasn’t. Because… because…I can’t say it… because Poblano Cream Sauce DOESN’T EXISTANYMORE. #Whataretheythinking? Every place has verde. Every place has suiza. Poblano Cream Sauce was special and Ohsotasty. Bring it back!

Extremely disappointed in the service at Serranos. We were seated immediately and chips brought out to the table within seconds of sitting. We then proceeded to wait 20 minutes and were never asked what we would like to drink or eat. Instead every server there was standing in the front laughing and joking. We finally decided to just get up and leave and no one even bothered to stop us or have the courtesy to say goodbye.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant so far!!! Their salsa was superb. Their spicy level was on point. The food was also really good. Wasn’t too salty and it was full flavor. The tortilla soup was really delicious I would love to go back there for just the soup when I’m feeling like I need some hearty soup!

My family loves Serrano, there breakfast is very reasonable. Lunch & dinner menu has so much to pick from. They are known for their Mesquite grilled food. They make homemade flour torilltas and Corn tortillas– love that. I love their salsa(hot sauce). Next time you visit a Mexican restaurant ask if they make their tortillas??

Really nice eating experience for a slow Monday afternoon meal. My wife and I were out on errands toward Lakeline Mall and decided to stop by the place. We’ve always been partial to the chips and salsa they have with this chain and usually with everything else they serve as well. Today we came at a slow time after the noon lunch wave was done. We were seated near the bar area and the bartender was actually our server. She did a wonderful job on the orders and was very attentive. I had my usual cheese enchiladas and wifey had the chicken fajita tacos. We both enjoyed our meal and samples of the others meal as well. Everything was hot and tasty and it was an pleasant lunch all way round. We will be back.

We’ve been here several times over the years — usually with a large group. Excellent service — food is average. Ordered Jalapeño Sausage & Chicken Fajitas — chicken was ok but the Jalapeño was a bit better.

This place is surprisingly good. The food is fresh, the tortillas are fresh made from corn, everything here is better than at all the other Mexican restaurants in the area. If you were looking for a good text Mex restaurant you can’t go wrong at Serranos

Absolutely disgusting. Beef fajitas were warmed over and had come pre-cooked from the refrigerator. I asked the cooks if they were fresh grilled and they assured me of it. When the food hit my tongue it reminded me of old grilled liver. DONOTEATHERE

My husband loved the food here. It was smokey and spicy, his two favorite things. I on the other hand wasn’t so impressed. I ordered the chicken fajita which was ok. I’m not sure what it was, I just wasn’t all that thrilled. Our waitress was very sweet and checked on us frequently.

Don’t understand the bad reviews, this place has great food and great service both times I’ve been there and everyone in my group agreed their food was delicious. This is tex-mex food and it’s a whole lot better than other tex-mex places I’ve tried, even compared to Chuy’s! We’ve had great waiters both times and today when I asked for a small box to take some chips home, they actually brought me a bag of fresh chips at no extra charge! Will go back for sure.

bleh. It’s cheap. Very cheap. For that, I had to give it an extra star. Otherwise, the food is simply not good, at all. It’s the epitome of bad Tex-Mex, or what someone who had never had Mexican food would try to create simply from watching movies about it.

My experience at this location was mediocre at best. I did like the eclectic artwork, look like all Texas people but wasn’t 100% who everyone was. Now to the food and service. The service was ok but our waiter was clearly over whelmed by the number of tables because he was running like crazy and still falling a little short on getting things out timely. Our first basket of chips was almost all crumbs & it took forever to get a refill. The chicken fajita meat in my tacos was totally over cooked, almost rubbery. The worst part is they weren’t warm. I will say that I have had good experiences at the 290/mopac location but don’t plan on returning to this location.

Horrible bar service. I came in with my mother at about 2:30pm today. We simply wanted to grab a quick drink before heading home for the day. We sat at the bar for about 5 minutes until the bartender made her way over and said she was slammed and she’d «be right with us.» There was one couple and two other singles at the bar, and the restaurant area was not packed by any means. Another few minutes passed and she asked if we wanted a food menu. We politely said«no, thank you we just want a drink.» She then walked away and tended to her other bar patrons’ checks before even taking our drink order. 12 minutes into our visit, she finally asked what we wanted to drink. We both ordered a Mexican martini, no salt. I left to use the restroom, and was still drink-less by the time I returned. 5 more minutes passed and we still had no beverages, not even water to hold us over, she had cleared a set of empty plates from the bar, and was reading her tips. Clearly not making our beverages. We walked out. You do not blatantly ignore customers at your bar.

I’ve been here probably 4 – 5 times over the years. Can’t recall ever having an issue. Always clean, always good service, always good food. This last time, on a Saturday night, we were particularly impressed at NOWAIT to be seated! Yay! Also– I decided their fajitas are above average. Really tender & juicy(beef). Also, great chips, salsa & tortillas. A great tex mex meal. Two thumbs up.

My most recent visit to serranos was a complete disaster. Of course, we all know there’s not much choice for food(herbivores) but the service was awful. Our waitress was consistently rude. Our party of 6 were ordering drinks, and even before we got to the second round the waitress gave us the check. I’m not sure if this is rudeness or just pure indifference. Either way, it has reinforced my resolve to never visit here again.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I ordered the green chili pork omelette and my son ordered the Serranos omelette. I’m writing a review about both meals because even thou my son is a grown man, he isn’t leaving without letting dad try«most» of what he ordered :) My green chili pork omelette had plenty of pork chunks and shredded pork. The overall size of the omelette is huge and I probably shouldn’t have eaten the entire thing.(I’m still sooo stuffed) But I did because it was good. And the green chili sauce on top topped it off. The Serranos omelette my son ordered is a vegetarian omelette. He liked it. I had a forkful and thought it was ok. Both of our plates had beans and potatoes. Beans are ok. My sons potatoes were better than mine because his were cooked more. Mine were just a little undercooked but still good nonetheless. Our really cool waiter, Alfredo, brought us a side order of tortillas. I made a messy, but good, bean, potato, egg and salsa taco. One tip I can give people is everyone at the table should order their own individual salsa bowl. The salsa is good not only for the chips but for omelets also. My son did mention that the restroom needed a little work. I won’t expand on that. I’m attaching a photo of our two really good omelets.

Read the«Not Recommended Reviews» below. You’ll thank me. 0 Stars. 0.0 We were actually kicked out for confronting a manager who was berating our waitress while she is holding my child’s food. I HAVENEVERBEENKICKEDOUTOFANYWHERE. This is a shitty establishment with crap décor, run by a shitty low life manager with bloodshot eyes. Even the linoleum table tops are trying to unattach and escape. Glad I upgraded to the liqourless house margarita. Needed at least 10 to numb the anger I felt for being yelled at by the trash manager Rick from across the room, after my husband asked why he was yelling at our waitress for needing to roll napkins when she clearly had 6 tables to take care of. Shane Morrison wouldn’t get on the line when I called twice. Rick made sure to block that both times. Yes, angry, mannerless man on a power trip for whatever reason you find excusable — I will email corporate for you and detail every minute of that crappy experience. I will find out her name and offer her a job to get her away from you and the worst restaurant I’ve ever dined at. I decided after one bite of the most disgusting enchiladas known to man I was never coming back. The exchange shortly after sealed that deal. Congrats! Award for my first 0.0 review.
