This place is a hidden gem! Surprisingly this Castaic strip has many Mexican food options. What truly separates these guys from the rest is their portion sizes and consistency. Majority of these local joints seem to be a hit or miss. Sure it may not be the biggest or nicest, but MAN does their food deliver a punch. Will be back again!

In my opinion, This place is so disgusting. I’ve seen workers not wearing gloves. Multiple times I’ve seen people complain about hair in their food. It’s just not worth it.

I bought 15 tacos for the family and brought it home. This was my first time trying them. I broke out in hives after eating their food. No idea why but something they cook with… Maybe oil used to make chips. I don’t usually have this issue. Food wasn’t bad. I’ve had better tasting.

The establishment is very very clean. Their food is prepared very fresh. Nothing is cooked until ordered and everything I have had is absolutely delicious. There is not a bad item on the menu. The restaurant is family owned and operated. They are warm and welcoming and very accomadating. The restaurant absolutely deserves all five stars ! Madeleine V.

This is the best little Mexican place in Castaic. Everything on the menu is great. I like trying something new every time. The staff is charming and I’ve never had any complaints.

So ive been going here for a while now. I must say things have changed alot. New owners. Service is just not the same as before. The portions have gotten alot smaller but they charge more. Doesnt add up. But today was the day i will stop coming. I saw the cook drop a piece of steak on the floor pick it up and put it back on the grill. After they noticed i saw that they put it on top of the warm table where the other food was. They finished my making my food and then when they thought i didnt see they put that steak on the customers plate and served it to him. Its one thing at your house to do that but when it comes to other peoples food come on. Who knows what could have been on that steak now. Bleach, dirt, grim, maybe feces. That is just text book no. Ive work in plenty of restaurants and i knew stuff like this could happen but to see it first hand made me sick.

Chicken strips were so tough I couldn’t bite through some of them. Cevice was weird. Dirty dishes on the counter and the cups were stacked before they were dry. So when you pull them apart they’re all wet. Burrito was decent.

We found this restaurant on Unilocal while driving home from ventura. It had great reviews and right off the freeway so we decided to try it out. It’s in a strip mall, which should have been a red flag. When we showed up it was empty. Literally no other customers. A few people came in while we were there but not many. The server was very friendly and prompt, no complaints there. The food, however, was just BLAH. Absolutely no flavor. We ordered the taquitos and the beef enchiladas and they tasted exactly the same. I thought maybe the red sauce would have some flavor but it didn’t. I wouldn’t come back unless they completely revamp their recipes.

Found this little Mexican Grill just off the 5 fwy and it was FANTASTIC! Fresh carne asada tacos packed in two corn tortillas. Yum! Chicken Tamale was delish, topped with enchilada sauce. Rice n Beans with tortilla chips. All worth the visit. Best part about this little grill are the prices! We will definitely come back. Also try the Tomatillo Salsa. Just the right kick!

Definitely off the beaten path, but living in in the suburbs/truck stop town it can be hard to find good food sometimes… I found it. Chabelos is legit Mexican food at very decent prices. It seems like just a walk up and order and they bring it out type of place. But after going in i walked up and they asked if we were eating in. I said yes and they said go ahead and sit down we’ll come take you’re order. They promptly came out with chips and salsa and menus. Huh, i was surprised but quite pleased! After having read some other reviews and perusing the menu I went with the Camarones a la Diabla. So good! perfect amount of heat and a great portion. for 12 or so bucks I had a huge plate of about 20 shrimp and veggies, along with rice, beans, and your choice of tortillas to accompany everything. I normally would say I’ll be back, but I already have. Went again days later and had a couple fish tacos and a couple al pastor. Both were outstanding and for less than 2 dollars each a great deal. At about a mile and a half from my house I will be a regular here.

I can’t pass by highway 5 without stopping at my favorite Mexican restaurant. Definitely authentic, and reminds me of moms cooking. The food always has a fresh taste and the atmosphere is comfortable. The servers have great respect for their clients and the cook remembers regulars and their favorite plates. Mines is the Camarones a la diabla, if you like spicy with a kick of sweet don’t let this plate pass you by.
