My family used to love their tacos, we visited at least very least 3 times a month and buy big orders(we are a big family) we had the Sunday taco night with a family tv show or movie. They changed owners but since we saw the same cook we thought would be the same … Unfortunately no at all :(we gave it a second chance today and again we were disappointed. Salsas are not the same and they do not have reasonable size containers for the to go bigger orders. Meat also tested different. :(sad sad sad we loved it. I guess all goods have an end.

Great beef soup($ 8.99). Huge bowl of goodness(enough to feed 2 man) was filled with tender beef, carrots, cabbage and came with fresh tortillas. We ordered a carne asada burrito($ 6.99) to share and it was cocked to perfection. I would not mind to stop for a bite my next time in the area.

Can’t believe I’ve been here all these years and didn’t know about this little gem. Al Pastor tacos on homemade tortillas hit the spot. Fresh food, friendly folks. Order your food, then pay for it in the market in front. A little strange, but so is Castaic. Try this place, you won’t regret it.

Went to the little restaurant attached to the market. Really amazing mexican food. Its very traditional mexican. I had the casada burrito. Was very rich the beans rice were full of flavor. Plus the beef was cooked and seasoned perfect. Honestly this was one of best beef burritos I think I have had so far in my life. Also tried a mixed fruit drink called vamp juice was so rich and flavorful. Sweet tasty.

Great find! Small Mexican restaurant in the back. Burritos were very good – about $ 8 and good sized. Come with meat, rice, beans, and salsa. Cheese extra but all reasonably priced and good quality. Only negative was that it was slow. Took nearly 20 minutes to get our burritos, which was way too long.

Carne Asada and Chicken cooked outdoors! MADE to ORDER! Order your food outdoors or go to the back of the store(restaurant) for a menu, they write up your ticket, the waiter takes it to the front and you pay at the front of the store… very friendly chica at the register. Finally, after 10 yrs of living in SCV I made the quick drive and stopped in at Tio’s, seriously I have no idea why I never stopped in for all these years.: / All I know is that last night was the start of a new relationship… haha The asada is so flavorful and they serve their tacos on grilled heated tortillas the Mexican term for this is(Doraditas)… NOTSTEAMED(I hate when Taco stands steam them, it just makes the tacos get soggy once you add your salsa) such a mess!!! But not Tio’s here they are PERFECT! 1. Carne Asada Torta… Huge and so damn Good.(hubby) 2. Carne Asada Tacos… OMG!!! Delish!!!(hubby and myself) 3. Tripas Taco… tripas cooked to perfection, nice and crispy! BEST!!!(me) 4. Chile Relleno dinner… AMAZING!!! beans & rice! Yum! and the Chile relleno WOW so FREAKENGOOD!!! And so much food too… had leftovers for DAYS!!! Their portions are HUGE!!! And the Chica at the register said before I walked out the store… «You’ll be back, it’s that good… I promise» I smiled and said okay. BOY!!! was she right… Now I want to go back tonight, It was that GREAT! lol

Simplify. Simplify. Keep thinking this as you are driving past Denny’s, past Del Taco, past all those chain hamburger places, while keeping your eyes open for a little market on the west side of Castaic. The first time, years ago, we stopped here because we were desperately hungry and Denny’s is just not even a option in my book. I’d rather eat my car manual. There he was, this guy sporting an apron, grilling asada outside in front of Tio’s Market, those amazing, outrageous smells wafting onto the street. We walked to the back of the store to find a teeny tiny café run by a couple of big hairy guys with heavy tattoos manning the kitchen. Pretty scary looking. Then, one big smile from the chef and I was disarmed. That day I knew we had stumbled on something big. The menu — its on the wall. Order at the dinky window. First, out comes the freshest, still hot, paper thin tortilla chips and green salsa. Some of the best EVER! Today, my order was chile verde. It is made from pork ribs. Great flavor, but too spicy for my poor stomach. Eh. Ate it anyway. Mr. B — the chile relleno plate. He says, one of the best he has ever had. Beans good. Rice good. Serve yourself soda. The final pièce de résistance. Handmade hot tortillas, some of the softest, almost cake-like, best ever. A great spot to get out, stretch the legs, and fill the tummy on your way to places beyond.

After Six Flags, friend and I were looking for some grub in the area around midnight. There was this market ‘Tio’s Market’(a liquor/convenience store) and outside there were some guys cooking up tacos, quesadillas, elotes, and such. Carne asada quesadilla was loaded with tasty meat(according to the friend). My plain quesadilla was excellent, and my chicken taco(corn tortilla toasted up on the grill a bit, tasty chicken, cilantro, onions, pinto beans) was excellent. We shared a giant horchata which is the best I’ve had in a long time. Salsa bar was killer… awesome and super spicy. Seating is some plastic chairs and a table out on the street… which people were actually sitting in, grubbin’ down. Cool. Food was pretty good… 4 stars. Salsa and horchata were definitely 5 stars. &5 stars overall because it was open late, and the only other options were Denny’s, a truck or Carl’s Jr.
