Haven’t tried their cakes before and probably never will. Found them on the internet and tried to call-in a birthday cake order(I live in Chicago). Due to scheduling(I called 3 days in advance), I was open to any basic cake that they had available – not happening! I was told that although they make cakes daily to sell, they could not«hold» a cake for me even if I paid in advance. Poor customer service! Looks like I’ll be ordering from one of the other bakeries in the Triangle area.

Would have given 0 stars if possible. I showed this lady a picture of a cake, paid 100 $$ for it and she make a cake that is nothing like the picture with no apology. When we picked it up she said that our budget would not allow the correct decoration but did not tell us that at the time. Thanks for nothing! Young and disrespectful!!!

We ordered a birthday cake here. It was exactly how we expected it. Taking off 1 star because the box they gave didn’t fit the cake.

My wife made me drive an hour to get a cake and cookies from this place. This place is worth it. Other than that, I’ll just say that any place that correctly spells my daughter’s name on her birthday cake gets an «A» in my book – oh, do I have stories of other bakeries… Cake had some crazy raspberry-flavored filling which ended up being the rave of the party. I typically have trouble eating any type of cake as it is typically way too sweet, but the filling was tart enough to offset the cake sweetness in a fun way. Cut the cake early, since as soon as one guest figures out how delicious the cookies are they won’t last long. Give they cookies away as party favors so your guests won’t miss the heavenly cake-ly bliss, and so they’ll have a sweet treat the next day. Everything was ready when they said it was going to be. Friendly folks. They asked when we were serving it and gave us instructions on how to keep everything fresh until then.

good as it gets. a great place to buy food for the dinner/luncheon/brunch table. I will settle for a cupcake. I am on a restricted diet and cannot eat much sugar. Though a lot of items to buy for guests.

I had the chocolate cupcake with the chocolate frosting. The frosting was delicious, not too sweet. The cupcake itself was moist, it did fall apart while eating the final remnants of it. Overall it is a pretty good bakery, the cupcake cost $ 3.44.

Getting ready to drive home to VA I needed caffeine, STAT. Sugar Buzz fit the bill with an iced coffee. I also picked up two Oreo and one sprinkle cupcake to take home for my loves. When I arrived they went nuts, said they were fantastic. This place is worth a try, not a lot of seating but plenty to enjoy a cupcake or sweet treat and a coffee. Lots of gluten free available.

My son and I went in for a treat and really enjoyed our cupcake! It had a freshly baked taste and the price was excellent. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I would have liked more of a variety :)

Have celiac’s and having a dedicated kitchen is huge. The chocolate cake was about as good as cake gets when comparing to gluten free AND gluten filled cakes as I remember them before being diagnosed not so long ago. Honest opinions from close relatives that aren’t gluten free shared the same feedback. They saw our Captain America theme through very well, we had a very happy 5 year old.

I checked in and was happy to see a Unilocal coupon available for a free coffee… Not happening. Apparently it was under the old management. Anyway, in the past I had loved their Apple almond cake… Not today. The cake was crunchy. They did not refine the almond meal. It was disappointing. The blueberry cheesecake was ok, but too much cream cheese in it made it chewy. They ran out of everything else. This WAS my go to place for GF goods… I will have to rethink now. The place itself is cute and quaint. Not a lot of seating. Coffee was ok.

After visiting the butcher next door, we thought we’d step in and check out Sugar Buzz. We were glad to see it was open this time when we were there(the weekend hours start much later than weekday fyi!). Another super pleasant surprise: Gluten Free Friday! I picked up a regular and a gf chocolate cupcake to compare the two. First, the gf cupcake was SURPRISINGLY moist — so many gf cupcakes are somewhat dry, but this one was great! The only major difference between the two according to my palate was that there was a bit more depth to the regular cupcake in flavor. Both really close, and really good though! I will say that I’m more of a fan of the cake goodies here than the cookie we tried. The cookie was just rather sweet imo. With a name like Sugar Buzz, it makes sense though! I can honestly say that we’ll definitely be back here. The cupcakes are delicious and the other cakes look so tempting too. We’ll probably plan on a to-go trip just because there is such limited seating here. It does seem like a really nice, bright, and cheerful shop though! I’m definitely a fan!

So few places know how to make a good gluten free dessert — this place definitely has it down! The gluten free chocolate torte and gluten free apple almond cake are amazing! They sell their gluten free flour mix too :)

If you need a boutique cupcake or 10, in a flash — then Sugar Buzz provides the fix in Cary. They always have a nice wide array of choices. And the cupcakes are HUGE. Picked up 4 today for my dad’s birthday, and that should be enough for 4 adults and 2 little kids :)

Quaint cupcakery in Cary that has actually has a couple places for you to sit and relax while you have your dessert. The cupcakes here are BIG, like Texas muffin size. So it makes the(relatively) high price tag a bit better. I picked up a chocolate with buttercream frosting cupcake but wasn’t overly impressed. The cake was crumbly and the frosting was too loose for my taste. However, I picked up a slice of their special they had: blueberry coconut cake. And WOW, that was devine. My husband and I were fighting over who would get the last bite. I have yet to try more flavors, but I’m sure I’ll be back and see if something else piques my interest. One major plus about Sugar Buzz is that they have a large variety of gluten-free cupcakes. Pretty much every flavor has a gluten-free counterpart. I have a coworker who eats gluten-free, so I know how hard it is to find options.

I’ve thought this bakery was trendy and the staff was extremely friendly, however recently I decided to go here to have my sons birthday cake made. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and gave them the details of what I was looking for. Then, they asked me to email the pic and wrote everything I said down. I didn’t give the normal time for a cake like this but because they were not so busy they accommodated my request. It was beautifully decorated and tasted great. I was Daddy of the Year!

This is a review of the Lemon Bars and how the compare to the other bakery area lemon bars: In order of preference: #1– Guglhupf Bakery– Durham, NC– Outstanding Lemon Bars, still– very firm crust, very lemony tang, and lots of powedered sugar. Perfection. #2– Sugar Buzz Bakery & Café– Cary NC– Very good lemon bar, not as firm and lemony, but still a good second. Muchhhh better than Caroline Café & Bakery. #3 Southern Seasons– nice crust, firm bar, not as tangy as #1,2 but still good. Cost $ 3.00 as of 15Dec 2015. The product comes from Queen City bakery I believe. It doesn’t come with powered sugar. I had to request it be added ontop. #4 Harris Teeter Bakery– as of 15Dec15 surprisingly, my local Harris Teeter had some lemon bars in the bakery case. After trying them out, these were actually pretty good. Nice firm thick crust, lemony, not as tangy as #1 and #2, no powdered sugar. However, for just $ 2.49 it best #4 in value. At lease I don’t have to travel as far now to get my lemon bar fix. #5– La Farm Bakery– New reivew as of 5÷17÷14 the crust was not as thick as #1 and bakery #2, but had a nice firm lemon body, just not as tangy, wish they had more powdered sugar. Paid $ 4.50 on a jam pack busy Saturday. I believe they are the most expensive of the three, still good, but #1 and #2 are still my favorites. #6– Make your own by Krusteaz Lemon Bar brand mix– sold at Harris Teeters and some Walmarts for about $ 3.00– crust somewhat firm, softer lemon body consistency. Not bad for the price and amount. #1000– Caroline Café & Bakery– Cary, NC– what can I say, just a lemony glob, crust was too soft and oily/buttery? Overly sweet, Just nowhere near #1 and #2. I didn’t even finish it, which is saying a lot. NEW see rating above– Southern Season as of 15Dec2015. Thanks!

I’ve always thought this bakery was quaint and that the staff was very friendly, however recently I decided to go here to have my best friends’ birthday cake made. Favorite Cupcake in the World! Favourite CupCakes in the World! Another of the Very few that eBay Bride and I agree on and on these we Agree 100%! My Brief encounter with the Coffee says it is Good! There is something about a Bakery, just the Word makes me smile and fantasize about what could be! Here Reality is Better than fantasy! If this place were closer to where I live I would reach the upper limits of my Body-weight potential and not in a good way! Lookalota and the Customers are Very Friendly! Maybe I was here on the best day! I’ll get myself back here S0oooon! Small Cute Shop next to MeatHouse!

It’s just a T.K.O. Out for the count , you knock me out With a TKO TKO *ding *ding *ding Mmmmmmmmmmmm! By my judgement, the wins the Sugar Buzz battle that went down recently. The other contenders(that I tasted) were their chocolate dipped coconut macaroon, red velvet cupcake, chocolate éclair, and another mini éclair-like pastry all of which were good, although not particularly memorable. However, the taste of the maple nut date bar definitely is lingering in my mind, and I SHALL return to Sugar Buzz for a rematch! I would also like to take on their lemon bar next time. Upon entering Sugar Buzz Bakery we were greeted by cheerful, friendly, busy, bakers. I was pleased to collect my free bag of coffee grounds just for checking-in on Unilocal.Although there is not a lot of seating, there seems to be enough to handle the occasional people like us that decide to stay and enjoy our spontaneous sweet treat sampling sesh. First just so its clear, I dont think this place deserves to tack the name café onto its name when the only ‘café’ item it serves is quiche alreast offer some small plates like hummus or a simple sandwich THEN you can call yourself a café. Learning this was the dissapointing part of my visit because I was planning on eating here for lunch. Despite, the actual location is so cute and absolutely everything looks totally irresistable I had the white chocolate bar it was so rich I wasnt even able to finish it I had to save half of it for later. They also had a german chocolate bar which also looked totally irresistable that im going to try as soon as I start work on monday. xoxo
