I give Masi’s 4 stars, they are great, but they are just not what they used to be. They used to have much thinner, and well done pizza.

I love eating here but was given completely rude customer service. I called on a Tuesday night stating that I wanted the special. $ 10 pizza and pasta for $ 5.95 per the website. The website specifically states that ravioli was included and I was told no. When I advised Chris that I wanted what was on the website and it specifically states that he said no and that it is only spaghetti. I said it was false advertisement and he just hung up on me. They need to promise what they advertise.

Service was awesome both on the phone and when I went in to pickup our pizza. I am not normally a fan of thin crust, but it was really good. I will definitely return.

I have begun returning here lately. Didnt want to give up, the owner always seemed so nice. Happy to say that it seems that all the staff changes over that period were to blame for the issues I experienced. Have not seen the individual I had trouble with working anymore. The person who is there now is also a new edition but has been there the last few times. Feels like they have gotten rid of the rotten apples. The quality and service of late reminds me of the old Masi’s that impressed me when I first discovered the place. Pleased to say that I’m once again content with my experiences here and must update my review to reflect that change.

I’m amazed that a pizza joint in business for 57 years has not a single Unilocal review until today. For those unaware, Masi’s pizza was once a household name in West Dundee for many years. I remember getting Masi’s pizza from the old bowling alley in downtown West Dundee when I was a kid. The pizza was always excellent … but that was many years ago. Today, Masi’s is apparently no longer owned by the Masi family and is no longer being served in the bowling alley — which is no longer there either. Instead, you have to travel a couple miles north on 31 to an aging strip mall where you will find the Masi’s of today. A coupon for $ 10 — any size pizza, any toppings crossed my desk, so I figured I would give it a shot. How can you go wrong with an 18″ Masi’s Special(SMOG) for $ 10? Well, the pizza was similar, but not quite what I remember from way back when. They still cut the pizza in small squares, and the crust is still a thin cracker type crust, but that’s about where it ends. The ingredients do not seem to be of the same quality and flavor from what I remember. Additionally, my pizza seemed to be undercooked. I like my pizza cooked so the cheese is a light brown color. The cheese was just melted, but not cooked. The toppings were still crunchy. All in all, it was an edible pizza but entirely unmemorable. As the rating scale goes, «Meh. I’ve experienced better» and indeed I have. So, two stars for Masi’s and it may just be another 30 years before I remember to swing through again.
