Ate lunch here even after reading some of these reviews lol. Ordered the conch fritters appetizer which was good. My son had the burger, hub had the grilled chicken tacos(can’t remember the name of it) and I had the Dr Seus. My panini was fried green tomatoes stuffed with goat cheese. The food was very good. No draft beer but a BIG selection of bottles. I ordered a bloody mary… it was awful. No olives, no celery and pretty sure little to no vodka. Service was good our waitress was attentive and friendly. Our son begged us to go because of the corn hole and other outdoor activities. I doubt we’d go back though. We had dinner at another local restaurant that was almost the same $$ and it was fabulous.

Lazy Pirate WITHROACHES. Great place to hang out and drink beer in a bottle. My husband and I along with 20 other family members had a great time playing corn hole outside in the area built just for this game. 6 of the guys ate here and said food was okay. But, once they were almost done eating they saw Cock roaches. They were inside on the floor. They decided to stop eating finish drinks and started playing corn hole. As us ladies looked around and watched the guys play corn hole I noticed Roaches Running and crawling all over the floor. They were huge and fast. They were eating good cause the roaches were big. I kept looking down at the fake grass we were standing on. One roach right after another. They were not worried about all the people there. Because these roaches were use too people. Yet I will NEVERRECOMMENDANYONETOEATATTHISPLACEEVER! BEWARE, DON’T LEAVEYOURPURSEOPENTHEYWILLGETINSIDE..

Stopped by with the wifey on our way to Kure Beach, they were not busy and we were sat right away, we waited for over 15 minutes and not even an acknowledgment from a waitress/waiter, I said let’s go… Not coming back.

this place is nothing more than a tourist trap… we went sure day night. super busy with very loud music. my kids loved the music, I’m not much into bobmarley. the service offered from our young waitress was very good considering the busy crazy place. food is lack luster.drinks. average at best. I had a pineapple special drink that had 1 teaspoon of liquor. the oysters steamed special. oysters are huge… being from new england and awesome oysters and seafood. .the oysters were dirty, and could have used a little more time in the steamer… the bathroom has absolutely no water pressure, so you couldn’t even wash the clam juice off your paws. not going back

Arrived at 6 with a reservation at 6:15. Finally sat down for dinner at 7:30. Food was served by 9. The wrong food, but at that point dare we complain? It was a looooooooooong night.

I love the atmosphere here. It’s just the kind of place I wanted while on vacation this week. The inside is a little on the dark side but outside is island laid back and friendly. The tables are all picnic style and painted and colorful. There’s an outside bar and center area for cornhole with Adirondack chairs around it. So that was all the good stuff. Unfortunately the service was terrible. It was incredibly slow. Our server was friendly but she came to our table infrequently and with about a 20 min gab I between each visit. We never did get our main meal as it never came and our server said it she had wondered if it had gotten lost. 5 tables that were seated after us all got their food before us(although not quickly either). Drink refills were slow coming too. I so much wanted to like this place. I’d been there once before a couple Years ago and enjoyed it then — but looking back I think I had been frustrated by the speed of service then too.

Stephanie was a great server. Plenty of fun stuff with corn hole, volleyball and a good band. Yaya gumbo and the jambalaya were really good. Great cornbread. The wings advertised as the best in Wilmington were not the best anywhere. To the managers credit he did take them off our bill. I ordered a vodka and soda and it literally came out in a 6 Oz plastic cup. Felt like I was drinking out of a Dixie cup. Next round ordered a double and I got something that resembled a real drink. Ok place more for the fun than the food.

I had so much fun at this place. The atmosphere is beachy & family-friendly. You can play corn-hole or volleyball near the outside tables or relax by the fire pit on cooler nights. The food was a little slow, but when it came, it was more than worth the wait. We sampled 4 or 5 appetizers & loved them so much we ordered every single one again for a second round. A seriously fun beachside hangout I would absolutely recommend.

We got drawn in by the billboard that said all you can eat oyster. When we sat down the waitress said it was only from Monday to Thursday but we could by them by the bucket and shuck them our selfs. What! I don’t work here. Should I go make my own ribs too? The menus is eh and ribs the same. This place is a tourist trap. I guess it would be ok for a beer but that about it.

Good food, beach dive bar ambiance, nothing not to like! I had the alligator tail which was awesome and plentiful. Wife had the tiger shrimp, took a bunch home with us. Dogs welcome on deck. Good times!

Came in on Monday, it was 8, and empty. It took us 10 minutes to be seated. Then after another 10 minutes the server finally came to take our drink orders. She came back with only half of the tables drinks, then the other side had to REORDER their drinks. We had to actually call the waiter back to order appetizers. Then it took about 15 mins just for the apps to get here. 20 minutes later the waiter comes back and takes our food order. We waited maybe half an hour before our food got here. I got the Jucy Lucy burger which tasted like cheese whiz with some meat on a bun. Awful service. Only like 5 items on the menu besides the burgers.

So the nightlife at Carolina beach is a bit lacking but I can dig this dive bar scene. The bartenders are comical and talkative. The place could use an upgrade, nonetheless. I do love that they offer volleyball and cornhole games. The pool tables are a nice touch as well. They have a good range of craft beers. I suggest the«Shotgun Betty» hefeweizen. A guitarist came to play on the outside stage around 7:00. He sounded less than desirable. My sister says her sangria was tasty. My sister and I had to school hubby and my cousin(a Marine) on how to win cornhole. I don’t think they were prepared for us to beat them so badly.

Was just looking for a quick and easy meal on a Sunday night, Gouda bites which everyone recommended were NOT great… Tasted like fried mac & cheese, waiter said it was really Gouda cheese, but if you look inside you can see the macaroni bits! Another customer near us who had been there before recommended the lobster mac & cheese, it was good, but I was questioning whether it was real lobster or not??? Hard to tell. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t stellar or off the charts. With 1 soda, 2 ‘special’ drinks, 1 beer, 1 appetizer and 1 dinner shared between the two of us are tab was $ 57! I will give the waitstaff kudos, we had Daniel, and he was awesome! All the others look like they were really working hard to get to customers quickly. But for an average meal I would not expect a $ 57 tab… Again wasn’t horrible but wasn’t a $ 57 meal or drinks. It was a Sunday night and they did have two bands playing one rock style band until 7PM and then the reggae band. Both seemed pretty decent but it was pretty loud and you had to shout to hear someone right next to you. As a bonus for those that are looking for a place to grab a bite and have activity, there are two sand volleyball courts and an area with some corn hole boards… But the cornhole boards are very close together! Just an observation and not a complaint…

Was there on Wednesday July 15th2015. Was there last year as well on vacation. This time I called at 2pm to let them know that my friend was getting married on the beach and we would be there at 6:30p with 7 people. He said to call when we were on our way and he would have a table setup inside. Called when we were leaving, then sat outside for 50 mins in the heat. 6 times a waitress walked by with a pitcher of ice water and no one even bothered to ask if we needed anything. All dressed up with nothing to do but sweat. Once seated there was drywall, wood and tools piled around the highchairs and booster seats, the seater handed us a pile of menus and silverware and walked away. As we watched some lady staining the wood work around us we handed out our own setups. 10 mins later someone came for our drinks then got them wrong. While waiting for the correction in this fine«family» establishment, we watched a documentary about breast implants that was on the screen to the left of the bar. The food came and the burgers were rare(never asked how we wanted them cooked). I talked to the waiter about the problems and he took 50% off only the burgers. I recccomended this place to my friends for dinner after thier wedding due to my experience last year which was just fine plus have outside activities that I thought my group could enjoy with some beers after an absolutely beautiful wedding on the beach. I got screwed and paid for all of it. I will say that the gouda bites and the conch fritters are really good. The mixed drinks are delicious. But that’s it. I plan on posting the pics of these things I mentioned and will never return with any of my vacationers that I bring to carolina beach 3 times a year.
