I visited the area of the holidays and had the pleasure of dining at Gulfstream. The service was fast and the young lady was very friendly. We both had the fried chicken dinners. The food was very tasty and the portions were much larger than expected for the price. I can’t say enough good things about Gulfstream. I give them 5 stars because that is the limit. I say they deserve 10 stars from the dining experience I enjoyed.

Usually have breakfast here when we visit Carolina Beach. There’s a reason it’s a «usual» stop. It’s just good wholesome food served happily and quickly. Nothing exotic on the menu, but the omelets are stuffed and the platter is filling.

We had grilled chicken and egg platter and two orders of the Platter. Bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast and unlimited homemade biscuits. Excellent food! Open for breakfast closed for a few hours and then reopen for dinner. Not expensive but the food is definitely worth it. Great service but remember cash only. No plastic. Unlimited coffee to wake you up in the morning. The ladies are hard working and are very down home nice. Great atmosphere.

Went here for a late breakfast at the recommendation from the front desk clerk at the Marriott. Glad we took the walk over! Was real busy so we sat at the counter — WOW is all I can say watching the flurry of activity getting the orders put together and out to the tables. They were bustling when we walked in and the line was down their porch and into the street when we left. The portions coming out of the kitchen were HUGE! The biscuits and gravy plates were so full you probably wouldn’t have to eat the rest of your stay. My husband had the shrimp and grits, which was very good, creamy grits with shrimp, cheese and bacon. I opted for the BLT. We will definitely go back next time we are in Carolina Beach.

Only had breakfast here, but it was good and fast with an attentive staff. Nothing out of the ordinary or anything especially unique, but a good price and a good alternative to Kate’s when they are too busy to seat you. They do not take credit cards, only cash.

Country diner seafood and breakfast is kinda like chocolate… or like pizza… for me. When it’s good it’s good, and when it’s bad it’s still pretty darn good. But this place ain’t just«good.» It’s great. It’s fantastic. It’s extraordinary. It’s next level. I mean, I’ve been eating simple stuff like barbecued chicken, slaw, fried shrimp and hush puppies for four decades. And, I’ve always loved all of these things. But I never knew how good barbecued chicken could be until I ate it at Gulf Stream. The hush puppies are world class. The slaw is exemplary. Truly — one of the best meals I’ve ever had, anywhere… And now, they even have beer! And, you can sit outside on the rail and look at boats while you drink it. My son and I even walk over to the docks and catch fish while we wait on our meals.

It used to be a local spot but since it changed hands not so much. Nearly everyone I know who used to frequent the place doesn’t go anymore. The interior was updated but the food and attitude needs work.

We adore this place when we vaca at Carolina beach. Love the owners they are so hard working and friendly. We always see locals there so that’s a sign it’s good. Breakfast is so good love the Greek omelet and my fav thing for dinner is the stuffed flounder! I can’t wait till we can come back some year.

Just had lunch there, it was very good. Nice and friendly service, but no credit card or debit cards allowed. Don’t worry, they have an ATM machine inside.

Great place to eat breakfast! Corn beef hash is phenomenal! Coffee is tasty as well. Good deal on the grilled pork chops. You get two large ones… It’s kind of difficult to screw up eggs and grits… Oh yea, biscuits and gravy also yummy! Parking is tight, so I suggest walking if you can or you might have to pay to park:(

This was our first visit to CB, so I’m not sure if this place is new or recently opened. I didn’t see any reviews. I just cannot seem to resist a small diner type restaurant. While my sons were sleeping in, I popped out to this place for breakfast and take– out for them. Delicious chopped steak, home fries and 2 eggs w/a side of sausage gravy(skipped the toast, but it’s included) for under $ 8. Took 2 orders of corned beef hash and home fries back for the boys and they loved it! Nice little place with a 6OR7 seat counter which I love. Servers were really friendly and the cooks were hustling back in the kitchen. Go here over the chains that surround it(McDonalds and Hardees)

This restaurant was my former favorite. In 2014 Gulf Stream was sold. The inside of the restaurant has been updated. The bathrooms are much nicer! They have a very good breakfast. I have been very disappointed in their«regular» food and I think the seafood has gone downhill. The prices have been raised. I want the Greek family back!!! I don’t care if I go back and neither do my two friends. We formerly loved of this place!

Ok for a quick bite, but not the best food on the island for sure. I ordered chicken parm, and when I asked for for parmigian cheese they told me they didn’t have any. How is that even possible? The marinara sauce tasted like something out of a jar. Not a fan.

Meh. My one word to describe the food. I ordered the chicken parmesan and I’m pretty sure it was just fried chicken with marinara and spaghetti. I didn’t taste any Parmesan at all. It was alright tasting though. I did eat it all. We went in a large group of people and all had good service. The food came out fast and mostly hot. I feel like I got a lot of food but it should have been priced less. My dish was 11 $! But the breakfast menu looked fantastic and had reasonable prices too. Plus it’s served all day. This is a cash only place which is a bit different too. My only other dislike is that the waitress touched my baby. This may sound dumb but I have a 3 month old baby girl. You never touch someone else’s baby without asking. It’s always bothered me. Other than that everyone was very nice and helpful. Not a bad place at all. I would order breakfast next time though.

I came here a couple times during my recent stay in Carolina Beach. Generally, a convenient place to go… but I’m not sure I would have picked to come here myself. It just happens to be a «go to» location for my family that lives by the beach. The first time I came here was for dinner, and I ordered coffee and a turkey club sandwich. The coffee was good, but the sandwich itself was falling apart a bit, had a LOT of mayonnaise, and some of the lettuce looked wilted or like it was losing color/turning white. Another visit, my grandmother and I met my aunt and uncle here during lunchtime. Though the staff here is very sweet and friendly, it took quite a while for anybody to get over to the table to take our drink or food order. We all ordered basically the same thing… coffee and open-faced turkey sandwiches with green beans and mashed potatoes. Generally, the food was pretty good… though I wasn’t a fan of the green beans, which seemed to be right out of a can or something(they tasted acidic). My aunt also happened to let it slip during our order that it was my birthday. The pro of that? A slice of cake on the house that we could all split. The negative? Singing waitstaff. I flush so easily, so needless to say that I wasn’t super thrilled with a bunch of waitstaff singing and all the attention. It was sweet though, so I tried to go with it. Anyway, pretty convenient to Carolina Beach. Cash only, so remember to stop at the ATM. Friendly mom and pop-style atmosphere. Again… probably not someplace I’d pick, but it’s a favorite for my family that lives on the beach and the food is generally decent.

Nice little mom and pops style diner. Based on the reviews I wanted to try the breakfast. I went with the 2eggs and Corned beef hash and for my co-pilot got a Greek omelet. This was for take-out, the food was ready when I arrived and the staff was very friendly. The food portion was large and in charge, and piping hot. I didn’t like the corned beef hash but this is more of a style then taste opinion. I can’t knock them for not preparing it the way I am used to. Everything else about my meal was good, and my co-pilot liked her omelet, could have used some more filling but it wasn’t expensive so no complaint there. Looking for a mom’n pop diner style breakfast then I suggest giving this a go, it is also not far from the inlet and the beach, so you North Side visitors, if I were you this would be the spot for my vacation mornings.
