Love this store! Finally a store I feel safe in buying items here. They are super friendly and helpful:) they have a unique selection of beauty products. Even a deodorant that is natural and works.

I used to love this shop when it first opened. Not so much now. Wonderful products. Not too much interest in the client. No big deal. Can buy most of their products online now.

Cute store: lots of home goods — both on the practical level and to help give your home a nice aesthetic touch.

I wish we could all be lucky enough to have a shop like this in our hometown, guiding and supplying us with smart consumer choices. From healthy water bottles to non-​toxic wall paint, the staff is helpful and inspiring with their wide selection of eco products for people, pets and home.

Though I have been meaning to stop by Eco Carmel since they opened, I never made it over there until I started with a CSA farm that delivers there. I stopped in last week and have already been back twice since then! I have purchased everything from recycled crayons to vegetable-​based paints for kids and from reusable plastic sandwich wraps to body butter for myself. The staff is helpful but doesn’t hover. And the products are chosen with care. I love everything in this store.

Outstanding service from Kristi Reimers. She walked us through various items, explained the utility of them & offering helpful suggestions for our home care. The selection of eco friendly products is great. The service & Kristi’s patience was even greater!

What’s with the Carmel downtown places not having street addresses?!? San Carlos St between 7^th & 8^th? I’d hate to be the new mail-​person trainee.
Anyway, come here to indulge your inner Hippie. Eco friendly housewares, cleaning supplies, pet stuff (naturally shed antler chews!), and even locally harvested sea salt with organic herbs.

Great selection of items from housewares, door mats, stationary, pet items, bedding, CA grown organic cotton items (so rare), paint, art, etc (etc!). The proprietor is really knowledgeable about her products and after speaking with her it turns out she researched everything for a whole year before evening opening the doors, since she didn’t want to contribute to the ever-​present green-​washing out there today (really respect that). Service was helpful but not intrusive. Our well-​behaved dog was welcomed inside. We’ll definitely come back. If you don’t use a bag or bring your own, you can get a token and donate 25 cents to one of three local charities (not a new concept but rarely seen in a store this size).

My roommate and I recently bought a house, and although recently painted, we wanted to give the walls some life. I had some colors already picked out when my co-​worker told me about Mythic paint, a non-​toxic, VOC free paint that this store sells. So I stopped by Eco Carmel one afternoon to check it out. The owner, Kristi, was so incredibly helpful. She spent a significant amount time with me, explaining all about this paint and how it stacks up to other commercial brands. She also taught me about the importance of using primers, which no other sales person had ever done. She can match Mythic paint to any color of any brand, and it also has the highest durability compared to any other paint. I ended up purchasing a gallon of a deep red (which she matched to the Sherwin-​Williams color I had already picked out) and a grey primer. I was pleasantly surprised that it was cheaper than what I was about to pay per gallon at Sherwin-​Williams.
The verdict: There has been some minor construction going on, but we finally got to painting last night. I had been downstairs caulking some new cabinetry and my roommate was upstairs priming. I had a splitting headache from the caulking material fumes, so I had to stop. I went up to help with the painting project, and realized that after about 10 minutes, my headache had completely subsided. After priming, we put up the first coat of red. Both primer and paint had virtually no odor. The color is stunning, and paint quality is superb. Because of Kristi’s advice about using grey primer under dark colors, we barely had to use two coats. I will never use any other brand of paint, from any other store, ever again.
I briefly looked around at other items in this store while waiting; some things may seem pricey, but I believe that cheap things are made cheaply, and this store is quality all the way.
I wish I could support this store more by shopping here regularly, but after buying and renovating a house, we will be sitting on bean bags chairs eating beans out of a can… but at least we will be looking at beautiful walls!

So I was excited that perhaps I would find a ton of different beauty products here, as I like trying organic and close to nature products…
This store had a few items for lotion, body butter, cleaning products, painting supplies, home décor, school supplies… etc.
I just wish there was more diversity in the items that were sold.
Wonderful idea though, just wish there were more personal items…
