Excellent food. If you are looking for fast food, this isn’t your place. If you want freshly prepared food that is hot when you get it, this is the place.

We’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but likely will not return. We waited more than an hour for our meal, and it was lukewarm when finally served. We were offered only the breakfast menu(at 1:00pm) although others diners obviously had ordered from a lunch menu. Service was inattentive and slow. Too bad…

Organic coffee some of the best ever! Homemade jam to die for. The gluten free bread was the best we’ve ever had at a breakfast restaurant. It didn’t even taste gluten free. We arrived just after breakfast ended but the staff accommodated our whining. This was our only chance to dine and we thanked them for accommodating us. The smoked salmon benedict was delicious. The pancakes were picture perfect fluffy goodness and the teenagers gobbled them up. Something for everyone! Overall food very tasty, well thought out and ample portions for all. Thank you for offering quality food to weary travelers. Visited August 2015

We were looking for a laid back place with a great atmosphere. We had fantastic service, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was wonderful. We’ll be back on a regular basis :-)

Three stars is an average of 5 stars for food but 1 star for service. Stopped in for breakfast today with three other people. It was moderately busy. Took about 15 minutes to get a table even though half of the tables were empty. Order was taken promptly. Got coffee, juice and water promptly — then nothing. Another hour goes by with no one coming to our table. No coffee refills. No explanation of what is taking so long with the order. I look around the restaurant and only 2 of about 15 occupied tables have food on them — there is NOTHING coming out of the kitchen. When we finally got someone to come to our table, the explanation was that the kitchen is backed up. Yeah. No kidding. No estimate of how much longer it would be. I am a very patient person.(Remember, I have already been waiting for an hour.) I told the server that we were leaving in 10 minutes and started the timer on my watch. Finally got the food about 6 minutes later and the food was very good. Had it not been for the long wait and lack of communication, it would have been an excellent breakfast. I might give them a try on another day just to see if today was an aberration.

One of our favorites and historically, one of the first places we ate when we moved here. Remains a go to place for brealfast, lunch, or dinner.

My wife and I, as well as the other couple we were with, were hungry after our 3 hour drive to Sequim for the Tour de Lavender bicycle ride. Unfortunately this establishment was expensive and the serving size inadequate. What cracked us up was all the elderly customers who were at the tables surrounding us seemed to have huge entrees before them. They were all leaving with to-go boxes.

Love the fries! Good burger but smallish for price. They charges $ 1 for cheese, bacon etc. Beautiful Deco, very interesting stories on some pieces and the diorama in the table. If the owner is around, ask him about it! Friendly staff, I haven’t had any issues in the several stops here. Early dinner burger special includes a beer, for a total of $ 15.(can’t recall now if that included tip) This is the sort of place good to bring a date or your parents, either way it’s not crazy expensive, yet still nice enough to not feel«commercialized» or grease pit.

Party of 2 ventured out to Carlsborg to try dinner. Hubby enjoyed the tomato soup with bits of onion and tomato. My salad was crisp and ranch dressing flavorful. Dinner was sirloin steak with tempura prawns and baby back ribs. Side dish was steamed broccoli in a light cream sauce. Sirloin being less fatty was slightly chewy. The ribs were tender and meaty with the bbq sauce not too sweet. The only miss was the garlic mashed potatoes. They were clumpy and did not taste of garlic. Overall we enjoyed our visit and will return.

Seafood Benedict and breakfast burger were really good. Interesting stuff to look at while you eat. Most Sundays they close early around 3.

Great little place. I wish I liked in Sequim because I’d totally eat there every week and BS with the regulars. Love the personableness established. Here are the pluses: 1. Coffee – good 2. Server – super nice 3. Owner – nice, let us try his homemade caramel, gave us a history lesson via scale model 4. Food – good(except they had run out of a few things due to the busy weekend. I forgive them) 5. Atmosphere – good

A little off the beaten path but worth a try. The décor is definitely unique! The food is good and portions are generous. My daughter was hoping for waffles but enjoyed their red, white and blue french toast. I went for the logger; your choice of meat, eggs cooked to order, home-style potatoes or hash browns and toast. Breakfast prices are reasonable. Service was friendly.

We went in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was dead. Two other customers were there but we still felt a little ignored. Took forever to get water refills and our server/hostess? Not sure which, spent her time complaining audibly in the kitchen. Cute vibe, food was alright, but not good enough for the price! There are cheaper places I would try next time.

First off, the place is adorable. Love the décor, the vibe, the tables made from doors, very cool looking place, inside and out. From there, that’s about it. It took going through 3 different people to get a table, and none of them talked to each other. It was hard to watch. We were greeted by our wait person, who said she would get a table cleared for us and walked off. The poor hostess/buss girl who was running around never got told that were were waiting for a table to be cleared so she was off doing other things, she eventually asked if we’d been helped, and we said we had, then another wait person talked to us and chewed out the hostess girl for not clearing the table, that she was never told about by the first person. Wasn’t her fault and she didn’t deserve that. The food, it was tasty, I really enjoyed it. The whole family enjoyed it, even my kids. The service was beyond horrible. We had to keep asking for refills, and even when our wait person delivered them, not once did she ask if we needed anything, we were treated as if we were an inconvenience to her because she was busy. Sorry you’re busy and have the chance to make some awesome tips and you’re letting your stress levels pour onto us. We left after paying for our meal and tipped the hostess/buss girl directly and asked her to give a few bucks to the kitchen, but not our wait person. I will return and give them another chance, but with service like that, it doesn’t matter how good your food is.

I wonder if the Old Mill Café would better serve as a museum rather then a restaurant, the amount of historic memorabilia rivals some of the best in the area… oh well… But your probably wondering about the food right? Well I have good news, all my experience here ended very well. The menu includes all the usual suspects done right, along with some surprises to keep you coming back. Try it!

It actually appalls me that there are negative reviews about this spot. When my boyfriend was trying to impress my Seattle palette with the Sequim area cuisine, he took me here for Sunday brunch, which we are religious about(except during football season, which is Saturday brunch instead). That was ages ago, and now I’m a Sequim resident, and we still come here every week for brunch. The waitresses know us, we order the same thing every time, and it’s never been less than great. It’s in a strange kitschy looking café with décor my grandmother would have mixed with tree logging memorabilia. The waitstaff is young and has always been pleasant with us, no matter whose section we get. Our food is always prepared perfectly and I’ve GOT to figure out how they make that damn hollandaise sauce, for real. You will wait around 30 minutes for food, no matter how full the place is. But it’s always hot, and the menu states fresh made food takes time, so it’s not like they don’t warn you. You want fast crap food, you go somewhere else. You must try their Bloody Mary’s, they are fantastic. I ask for extra spicy, and it rivals the best ones I’ve had. Their Eggs Benedict’s are ridiculously good and that hollandaise I mentioned is epic and unlike any other. My personal fav is the Crab and Spinach Benedict. Fresh seafood every time. Worth the wait, worth the price by all means. We’ll be back Sunday!

I walked in and the girl at the counter was playing with a customers baby. So I waited. She ignored me until another employee walked up and then asks«have you been helped?» After I was seated at a table, I looked thru the menu and ordered. She just stood there and didn’t tell me they had specials. I found out only cause I overheard her tell the next table. Not the first time I have been discriminated but always disappointing :(
