Johnston & Murphy Factory Store

Bought the b/​f a pair of shoes as a gift. The customer service was good, but almost to the point where it was annoying. They help you put on the laces and such, but I hate when they stick around and linger to watch you try on the shoes. DUDE, give us some space!!!
DA-​YUM, I didn’t realize how much these shoes were! I spent about $ 175 for a nice pair of black dress shoes for work. I don’t even know if I have a pair of shoes costing that much?! Ok, I take that back. My Ultimate Tall Braided Uggs are $ 275 each, and I have 3 pairs! HA!
I was cringing since I could have used that $ to buy me a new bag next door at Michael Kors!

I have been a fan of Johnston and Murphy for some time, and the outlets at Carlsbad is as good as it gets for me, got enough stores of quality merchandise that I need not shop around, just go there. I have purchased many shoes from Johnston and Murphy over the years, and I found a killer pair of buckle sandals that were reasonable, So my wife says hey this is your fathers day gift. I wore them 4 times and the leather on top came un-​stitched. Go figure, after 4 times… I called customer service, and they said they really cant do much, I have to go back the the company store and they would refund my money. Who has time to drive for 2 friggin hours to return a damn pair of shoes. I expected a little more customer service. This leads to my second complaint. Johnston and Murphy is one of the oldest shoe company’s in the united states, and used to be made in New Jersey. Since they now are made in China, I would think that the company would provide excellent customer service. After all, they are now made in some of the same factories as the shoes you can purchase at Walmart. Not a store I like, but they got it right. Your not happy with your Chinese made shit… bring it back and will give you a refund. Simple. We are no longer making anything here is the united states, so since we are not an industrious nation, we should be able to work on our customer service skills. Don’t you think??? Drive back for a pair of Chinese shoes??? how about kiss my ass. I will by European shoes from now on and spend the extra money to know the product is that of good quality.
