This place is an absolute mess. The young men making the salads were just mailing it in and it was complete chaos at the register. No tomatoes… tomatoes, that’s like a staple. Plus… no bread, that blows. The vibe here tonight was«zero f**ks»

While this location will never come close to the hustle-and-bustle locations I knew, love, and frequented in the city, I still love that there’s a Hale & Hearty I can drive to in 20 minutes time. My all-time favorite here is the three lentil chili. The sandwiches here are incredibly lackluster, and I’ve tried a few thus far. So, I’ll stick with my hot bowl of chili. Bonus: This location is HUGE — plenty of seating and parking, so no worries there.

I love Hale & Hearty and I think it’s extremely underrated on Long Island thanks to all the Panera hype. Hale & Hearty is really popular in NYC so I am confused why it really hasn’t made it’s way to Long Island. Never the less, the Carl Place location is great after coming from the mall or the newly renovated movie theater. I brought my Dad and my girlfriend and they both seemed to love the freshness and quality of the food. The prices are great and you easily get more food than Panera for your dollar. The soup and salad combo is great and the portions are huge, especially the salads.

Stopped by HnH this evening after an afternoon spent in PM Pediatrics. Hungry belly in tow, looking for a good wholesale and somewhat«healthy» meal. Was very content with my soup and sandwich. Very satisfying! Will be back for more. Spinach, mushroom and leek soup — Delicious!

I really love Hale & Hearty, especially in the fall and winter of course. The manager at this location Nelly is friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would change is that maybe the individual locations could have Facebook pages letting you know which soups are available — since they change daily. I have several favorites, and still have not been able to have any one of them twice this season. Other than that, this place is great.

Things have improved a little since my last visit to this Carle Place soup n sandwich chain. First I immediately noticed they put up two roped off lines with clear labels«salads» or «soups» which help direct the traffic entering the restaurant. On this visit I ordered one of the«specials» which was a large bowl of creole crab and shrimps over rice. Very tasty and strong old bay flavor and they didn’t skimp on the shrimp(say that five times fast!). Some may balk at the hefty prices, as my large soup and a Snapple came in at nearly $ 20.00. But when you consider the gourmet nature of these soups, I’m not so bothered. These are noticeably better than say, Paneras’.

Ok H&H you’ve redeemed yourself. You’re not just known for the bomb sandwich with the arugula, grilled chicken, avocado and balsamic mayo. I now know where to go when I’m fixing for a good Tomato soup. Alas look no further than Hale & Hearty. Yessss!!! Plus it’s an everyday soup even better! Now I just wish I had a half of a gourmet grilled cheese & a small H & H Tomato basil and rice soup. There I said it. I’m not always healthy and that is one awesome comfort food kinda meal. Anyway… Parking is still a pain but with one loop around you should get a spot rather quickly. Or at least I do. Service is always friendly and they don’t mind we’re picking up a couple of bags of online orders. Quite frankly I’m kind of a fan of doing the online ordering for lunch. That way everyone pays for their stuff and for all my complicated orderers such as myself we don’t have to repeat ourselves 100 times to confirm our order is correct. So come here for the most awesome sandwich ever or that great tomato rice soup!

This location is AWESOME!!! I’m used to the«little» locations in Manhattan and this one is so nice and spacious! The staff was so friendly and they treated my Sorors and I to a really nice lunch! My «made-up» chicken, avocado, arugula and chipotle mayo wrap was DELICIOUS! I may visit more often!

Omg!!! I’m a soup girl & I love the soups here. 1stly… Everyone that works here is incredibly nice & helpful. They seem to like their jobs… Rare these days. 2ndly… They let you sample any soups that you like. I ended up taking home a big batch of their soup of the day… Chicken Barley!!! They have about 30 soups & one is better than the next!

I come here pretty often but today I get a ‘disgruntled employee’. Dashing things as if not happy to be here today. McDonalds attitude here is so strange to me I didn’t know how to react. I asked to taste a particular dressing and she was not happy to have to go look for the new avocado dressing :/then she starts chopping my salad. Without asking if that’s what I wanted. Don’t mind that I haven’t picked a dressing yet… Then when I tell her no chop please against a weird look as if I shouldn’t speak. I then ask for a little extra dressing which she proceeds to french my salad no had to ask to to stop pretty loudly. Her only question after which salad did I want was to stay or to go. I look up and she has put it in a to go container. I’m sorry you have one job, of which you don’t seem to want to get done today. She was Hispanic and a bit new, not the manager, I only say this as she didn’t have a name tag. Service here is normally not like this, I’m confused. Let me get back to eating my soup, to hungry to complain. I can still hear her slamming things as I type this. smh so Odd

I’d only ever had H and H while in Manhattan, and was extremely excited when I finally noticed this one in Carle Place. I enjoy Panera as much as the next, but the menu becomes super monotonous after a while, and the portions are pretty dinky as well(for the price). I’m a salad fiend, so the build your own salad was the obvious choice. I chose a bed of spinach, all the free adds(minus croutons), grape tomatoes(although only provided three), and avocado. I asked for two dressings on the side(no extra cost), both which were delish! The total for my salad was about six and change. Therefore a fraction of the price of panera for twice the amount of food(the salad comes with bread or crackers as well). It’s a no brainer, H and H all the way. The soup selection is seemingly endless, if I was a soup girl this would be my happy place. As for sandwiches, I’m judging you a little bit if you’re in NY and not at a real deli, but to each their own. The cleanliness is on point, service is polite and efficient. Definitely recommend dropping in for the healthy alternative, at a fraction of the panera cost! (Only four stars bc it wasn’t life altering, but I was definitely pleased!)

I always want to support the little guy. There is a small soup place in Garden City that I have a repeat punch card, nice man trying to run a business in New York. Time wasn’t on my side yesterday so I caved and went to Hale & Hearty. Another NYC chain, now in Garden City.(They get everything, come to suffolk dagnabit) Hale & Hearty is one of my go to chains. I love their soups, salads and sammies. My love for soups has no bounds. I see on their huge offering soup list, Southwest Shrimp Soup. Yummy! I’m asked, would I like Sourdough or 5 grain bread? Hale & Hearty is a large space, very deceiving from out front. There is large dining area that offers free water with lemon. Very very classy H&H. Parking? Its a very busy lot, I left my car on the Stew Leonard’s side. What I noticed in the small fridge, they have a few nice grab and go items. One of the items is a cold summer soup? Nice H&H. If you want a good lunch soup and sammy, Consider Hale & Hearty.

This is the place to go if you want a good soup and sandwich. I saw one reviewer say Panera is better. I would disagree wholeheartedly. This place has a Hugh selection of soups ready to go. Sandwiches there are great and very healthy and they have salads too. So forget McDonalds or any other fast food place, here good healthy food awaits.

I absolutely love Hale and Hearty. If I hadn’t moved to the West Coast I would be the Dutchess of this place, that’s how good it is. I first came to Hale and Hearty a few years ago. The hearty and delicious soups that change daily, the yummy sandwiches and the create your own awesome salad bar had me hooked. I love that you can taste test the soups before choosing and that they offer soup/salad and soup/sandwich combos. The dining area is large and clean and the staff is always extremely courteous. I only wish they had more locations!!!

First time I visited this chain. Really liked their Portobello sandwich. Simple but tasty. Tried their tomato basil with rice soup. It’s good but a wee bit too sweet for me but I like salty and sour things. Huge variety of soups and soup specials which is awesome. They have lots of salads too. Lines are pretty hectic at lunch but the place is very clean and the people were prompt and friendly..

i love this place. Usually. Tonight was i guess just an off night. I checked out the website first to see if i wanted anything and they had two of my fav soups listed so i went out of my way especially to get them. I walk in and neither were listed on the board so i asked the girl and she was like huh? and then said oh i guess those are yesterdays soup. WTF is that shit? anyway i was like well im already here so i got Tomato Corn Basil soup with crackers. i pay and leave and get to work to find out that not only was there no crackers but it was the entirely wrong soup and size and everything. I have never had a problem before but i don’t eat whatever shitty soup they gave me which had a ton of onions and was gross and i wound up not having any dinner all night thanks to the shitty service. Oh well,

Love love hale and hearty, just the prices are a little high. You are able to order the chicken noodle soup with no noodles or orzo, which is a nice choice and very tasty. Also had the 10 veggie soup, delicious broth. Never been disappointed here, a good go to place for soup at work.
