Came here on New Years Eve and talk about a celebration. The African lobster tail and filet was superb! The service was impeccable. Loved our experience. Definitely pricey but so worth the cost! Go!

Excellent meal in a cozy vintage Cape May environment. My wife & I ate here for our 23rd anniversary dinner weekend getaway and it was well worth it. We started with splitting a Caesar salad perfectly done, and a crab cake app which was out of this world. I had the Kobe burger with bacon ad a side of asparagus to add some veggies. My wife had the ribeye special which she also shared and was incredible and flavorful. Both dinners were special — as my burger was more of a steak than a burger. We’ll definitely be back here again.

We ate at Union Park for a rehearsal dinner before a wedding and the food was excellent. All three courses were delicious. The Seafood Chowder was velvety and flavorful, even a little spicy, which added a nice depth. The short rib entrée was very tender(typical), and the sauce really elevated the dish. Dessert was a fruit tart. The fruit was refreshing and balanced the pastry cream nicely. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal, especially as part of a large party(about 30). The library-themed room we were in was classy, and service was attentive. I give out very few 5-Star reviews, but this meal at Union Park definitely warrants one.

Not handicap accessible! Unilocal lists this place as «wheelchair accessible.» There are about 12 stairs to the entrance. When I called to ask about another way in the hostess said. «Well…if you can somehow make it up all the stairs. The inside is accessible.» No… that is not how it works.

We enjoyed the early bird special. Starters were a ceaser salad and scallop salad. Cesar was good but scallops were outstanding! So fresh and delicately seasoned. ains were salmon and short rib. Both fantastically prepared and with sauces that really set them off. Desserts were profiteroles with coffee ice cream and a fruit tart. Perfect from start to finish. Do not miss this restaurant!

Let me start by saying I have dined in this establishment at least a half dozen times over the past 5 years and always had a pleasant experience. This time, there were several things that occurred which have left me a little dissatisfied in hindsight and hope this finds the appropriate parties to see that something like this does not happen to another person. It began with the seating of our party… Four adults and one child. As we are seated we look around the room and realize we have been seated in what can only be described as «the kids room» — indicative of how the only tables seated all have children set into the back corner which I can only imagine is to «not disturb» other diners. Ok, no big deal… So, we order our meal. The server, who was very friendly — offers suggestions, and we begin our dinner. Appetizers arrive… Cape May Salt oysters and Burrata Bruschetta… Excellent. Things are going well. Until that is, our additional dinner guest arrives. A bug walks across the table in front of us. Promptly, I cover it so no one else is disgusted by this at the table, and discreetly ask for a manager, while assuring the assistant service person that everything is fine with the food, something just had to be told to a supervisor. So, a chef/I can only assume manager arrives and asks what the problem is. So I lift the bottle of wine I covered the bug with and as if to say, «so what», he looks wide eyed at us, picks the bug up with his bare hand, and says«it’s a nightbug…», stares at us a moment longer and walks away?! We don’t wish to destroy an evening out as it is rare we have an opportunity to get out together, so we stay, let the incident pass, and look to finish our night out possibly on a positive note. Entrees arrive, we eat them, they are ok. We proceed to order dessert… Chocolate cake is excellent(btw), and ask for our check. Now let me also add, I have been a server in fine dining for over 15 years, and hate when guests complain or look to get something for nothing, but let me just say, IF any place I have ever worked has a guest show a supervisor that there is a bug on their table, that there is NOQUESTION something would be done to make right what would have otherwise been a lovely evening… But, to no avail. NOTHING was done… Not an apology from anyone, other than the server who was the farthest thing from part of the problem. She was sweet, knowledgable, and apologetic. So to clarify… 4 guests come to dine, enjoy ourselves, spend $ 425BEFORETIP($ 535 total), and we don’t even receive any sincere apology let alone any compensation for this? This will obviously be my last dinner at Union Park.

Me and my wife are on vacation in Cape May right now and I gotta say that this restaurant is by far the best we have eaten at. I will warn you it is pricey as heck. I ended up paying 85 $ for two after tax and tip. Normally that would be the part i tell you to walk away. But the food was abso freakn lutely. Worth it! I got a delicious burger(they say its Kobe but thats a lie and has to be Wagyu since only japan has true Kobe). Either way i loved it so! My lady got herself an aged rib eye. The fried were tasty. I highly recommend not getting a soda since its over priced and in a small glass. This sounds like alot of complaints and you may be wondering why i gave 5 stars then… The food was just that good man!

We haven’t been to Union Park in years, what a shame. Our waitress was top Knotch and her support staff was also excellent. After a hot day on the beach we drank a lot of water. The food was fantastic. We had shrimp xocktail, special soup, crab cake, tuna tar tar. For dinner we had scallops, tuna special(so good), duck and special steak. One of the few times the entrees were better than the appetizers. I would definitely recommend this place.

We had a great meal at Union Park tonight! My better half had the caesar salad which she enjoyed and I had the foie gras which was truly excellent(grilled and flavorful served on a corn bread /maple bread base. I had the ribeye special which was cooked to perfection. I opted to not have the blue cheese topping as I think it overwhelms the flavors in the meat. The steak was seasoned well, cooked perfectly and was accompanied by delicious vegetables(peppers, onions, mushrooms and potatoes). My wife had the scallops on polenta which she loved. Desserts did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is very comfortable with tables spread out to ensure private, elegant dining despite the large open room. The server was excellent and very professional. All in all well worth the money. I cannot wait to eat there again.

The food is decent, but the service is below average. First, we walked up to the hostess station, but the hostess wasn’t there. Okay, we figured that she was probably seating someone else, so we waited. .. and waited. We were there for five minutes. Even worse, three of the water/bread servers saw us(I even made eye contact with them), but ignored us and continued chatting with each other. It’s common sense: If you see people waiting and no hostess in sight, wouldn’t you at least come up and say«Someone will be with you in a minute»? After waiting 5 – 7 minutes, I had to actually go up to one of these geniuses and tell them to get the hostess for us. He did, the hostess showed up with a sour look on her face, and we were finally seated. Our server(name starts w/S) was adequate at best. She had no smile and spoke robotically; her words were correct, but she said them with no personality or friendliness. Part of the professional duty as a server is to smile and be friendly. Beyond that, we barely saw our main server. Our food was brought out to us by assistants who didn’t know how to serve — reaching over some in our party to serve others. We had to ask for fresh pepper and we had to pour our own wine all night. The food was just«okay,» but it didn’t make up for the lackluster service. They seem to be taking their customers for granted — surprising since it is the beginning of the season. This place bills itself as «fine dining,» but the service certainly doesn’t live up to that description. All in all, there’s nothing special about Union Park, and I won’t be going back.

Good atmosphere on the waterfront. The food disappointed. Small portions, everything overcooked. Expensive.

Décor is wonderful. Service is excellent. Appetizers were delicious. The Duck Ravioli and the Fioe Gras were outstanding. K’s lobster entrée was fantastic. My NY Strip Steak was tasty, but a little Chewy. We enjoyed our time there. We will be back.

My husband and I recently got married and had our reception here. It was a very intimate gathering of about 12 family members. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Positives: — Beautiful/elegant décor — Delicious meal — I had the foi gras appetizer and short rib entrée which I cannot rave enough about — Attentive and accommodating staff(they even housed the remainder of our wedding cake and allowed us to pick it up the next day) — BYOB — saves you a ton of money on the price of the meal — Timely delivery of all courses and we never had an empty glass Negatives: — The dining space was a bit of a tight squeeze(however it was a separate closed off room we were in so I can’t complain too much) — Although the portions were an acceptable size I would not have been upset with a little more on my plate(maybe I’m just being greedy because the meal was so fantastic!) In all I would absolutely return and plan on doing so!

Union Park is one of the finer restaurants in all of Cape May. My fiancé and I have been coming here for years and the food has been nothing short of stellar. The chef is a culinary genius and it shows in the quality and preparation of his meals. Everything from the bisques to the salads are great. Last night I had the oysters and the Duck Duet. The Duck was expertly prepared and was served with a delicious arugula & pear salad. It was amazing. My fiancé almost always orders the Kobe burger. It was juicy and well seasoned. It was served with some fantastic caramelized bourbon onions and garlic herb cheese. If you don’t like a busy burger I would suggest you tell the server to hold off on the cheese or put it on the side. We decided on the Salted caramel ice-cream sandwich for dessert and it was amazing. A perfect ending to a perfect meal. If you’re looking for a great meal featuring fresh local ingredients, a restaurant with pleasant and professional servers and a passionate chef, then this is the place for you.

I’ve already written an entry about the hotel in which Union Park is part of, so I won’t get into that. If you’re here and looking to know about the eating establishment, then look no further! Union Park offers a pretty wide menu of higher-end food choices. They accept reservations, credit card, and are BYOB. These are three of the most important aspects I look in an eatery. I don’t want to feel burdened by needing an ATM, or having to wait, or limiting myself to whatever grog they may have on tap. The food was outstanding, and the portions were larger then the ones at the Peter Shields Inn and Restaurant, while costing me less. If you want a good meal with an ocean view, look no further. This is a place I would definitely return to!

I came to the restaurant with my family. after reading previous reviews, i was extremely skeptical for how my experience was going to be. However, I was extremely surprised and had a great experience. The service was good and the food was even better. To start, we had the Caesar salad which was light and delicious. We also had the crab cake, which was one of the best crab cakes my family ever had. For dinner, I had the Kobe burger(picture included) which was nothing short of amazing. We finished with the Nutella ice cream sandwich and crème brûlée. Overall, this meal was great and I would definitely come back.

We were a party of 7, and when we called at 5pm, they could fit us in at 8pm. What a great start! First of all, let me point out that our group is a bunch of hard-to-please-ers. We have allergies and picky eaters galore. But not only did they accommodate all of our requests(they were great for our lactose-free members!), they also pleased even our pickiest. The raw seafood platter and tuna tartare apps were wonderful and fresh. Perfect for our group. Among us, we got the duck, scallop, steak, crab cake, and fish-of-the-day special as entrees. NOONE was disappointed — perfect serving sizes, perfectly cooked meat, not too much sauce or oil… Each of us got a different dessert: cheesecake, sorbet, fresh fruit, éclair, and a fabulous Nutella ice cream sandwich… and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Special shoutout to our server, Liz, who made sure our allergies were attended to by the kitchen and who made us laugh and feel comfortable all throughout the night. Wonderful experience.

Excellent location on Ocean with tasteful décor. Last time there I ordered the tartar 3 ways(beef, tuna, salmon) and all were excellent. I also ordered the lamb chops which were prepared medium as I requested and excellently flavored. Service was attentive without being overbearing and prices were reasonable considering the quality of the meal. BYOB is a plus. Recommended if you are in town.

Meh… We read all the reviews and were both pretty excited to try this place … in hindsight — them having a 7:45 reservation for dinner available should have been a clue — especially since it was a sat and we called on a fri night. We were seated at an outdoor table with a lovely view of the ocean. We started out with the oysters and the charcuterie board. Oysters were spot on — the cucumber mignonette was a perfect addition… can’t go wrong with those but that board… well that was another story. 4 little slivers of 4 types of meat — nothing really that good. They weren’t even cut properly(fat to paper thin on most pieces) The liver mousse was excellent but it came with soggy toasted baguette slices. It was enough liver for the board, no need for them to then add a foie gras. The blue cheese was excellent, but had no business being on this board nor did the pickled cauliflower, onions or beets. For my main — I made the poor choice of having the scallops over smokey sweet corn, asparagus, red quinoa, cilantro oil. Unfortunately, this quinoa ensemble was mostly quinoa and contained maybe 2 — 3 pieces of corn and 1⁄8 of a shaved piece of asparagus — so basically my 3 — 4 scallops sat above this heap of quinoa. I eat a TON of quinoa. Red quinoa is probably the hardest out of all of them. It’s almost tough to eat and doesn’t really play nice with other foods — including these gorgeous scallops. My bf had the salmon and didn’t say much. He didn’t finish his dish either. Can’t say I would go back here…
