We live at Canyon Lake and we occasionally eat at Big Country pizza. Sometime the wait is long but we don’t mind since the pizza is pretty good. Today, we walked in the door and it was 2 min past 8pm. We sat down and the lady stated that«we stop dine in service past 8pm». Considering that this is the boonies I guess we can chalk it off. However, we ordered a pizza anyway and ended up sitting in the restaurant for 30 minutes any way. Any other restaurant would have allowed us to sit and order since there was plenty of time… Customer service goes along way and today it was sub par. That’s the only reason I rated it low today.

I found the place by accident. Glad I did. Got the lunch special – 3 tiny pieces of pizza, a salad, and tea for less than $ 6.00. Add more pieces of pizza for $ 1.00 each. Peroni beer is $ 2.50. Better than fair prices. The pizza is great. The sauce is special – tasty, tangy, delicious. The crust was also great. The dining room is clean. Nice job.

This pizza place is like a suped up little Ceasars. The service was freindly but the pizza was so expensive. The pricing was ridiculas, a large 4 topping for the same price as a large 1 topping? Makes no sense. Fix your system, in an inner city you guys wouldnt last a week! Definatly willing to come back and try again though. We will see.

Unilocal friend, Joy, had raved about this place. Since she has never led me wrong, I decided to take the family and try it. We were all glad we did. Finding this place in the dark takes some effort. When we did find it, we were able to get a parking place right in front of the door. We walked in and were immediately greeted and told to sit any where we wanted. We placed an order for garlic bread while we looked over the menu. We ordered a pizza for eating there, and another to take with us. The dipping sauce that came with the garlic bread was so good. Don’t miss it as it is worth the drive by itself. Because the sauce was so good, we ordered a small pasta thinking we would get that sauce. Unfortunately, the sauce on the pasta was different and was not nearly as good. The pizza was really good too. We were glad we ordered one to take home with us. Will we return? Most definitely. Thanks Joy for Unilocaling about this place.

So I picked up a large Special Loaded pizza yesterday evening. The pizza was ready when they said it would be and it looked delicious. As soon as I got home, we tucked into the pie… OUTSTANDING! From the crust, to the sauce and the toppings, everything was First Class. Of course, their customer service far surpasses 90% of the restaurants in New Braunfels and Comal County. There are reasons that they get voted«Best Pizza» year after year by the Herald-Zeitung readers. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely fantastic pizza and the service was prompt and friendly. The inside of the restaurant is very open, clean, and inviting. The ingredients are very fresh and the crust is the perfect balance of soft and crispy. Thank you for a great experience!

Jason, the owner, contacted me immediately, very concerned about the quality of the pizza we received. He really cares about his customers and their experience at Big Country and the food they offer. This is customer service that goes above and beyond«customer service»! I highly recommend this restaurant as this was the first time we had any issues at all. Thank you Big Country Pizza. There is a reason that the folks in New Braunfels and Comal County like this place. Happy Camper here!

Nice to see them open again. Hours are sporadic. A bit pricey, however comparable to any other family operated establishment. The service is polite. The quality of food is doable.

Solid. Serves beer :). Not the cheapest. We ask for our pizzas well done. The hours are perplexing and FRUSTRATING. There has been more than several occasions where we have driven by and they are closed. We’ve also witnessed customers being turned away near closing. Who is closed on Sundays, during football games, and losing money? These guys! Good pizza, though :)

Big Country has THE best pizza EVER! I used to live 10 minutes from BC but had to move out of state. Whenever we come to Texas to visit we make sure to visit Big Country. Even if it is out of the way, it is worth it. So glad that Bruce’s son reopened it. Try the pepperoni and beef pizza, and don’t forget the Ranch dressing for dipping.

We visited Big Country tonight for dinner and the pizza was very good! The owners Jason and Karen have done a great job updating the interior. We are locals that live here and this is by and far the best pizza on the South or the North side. We live on the North side and it was worth the drive. Great atmosphere, Great food and Great people. Let’s EAT!!!

I have been here a few times for the lunch special. I love it. 2 slices, salad and tea for $ 5.95 after tax. The food is good, the place is clean and the staff are always friendly and polite. I will definitely be back.

Went here with some family and friends yesterday and had the best pizza we’ve had in a long time! Very generous with the toppings, I even asked for extra sauce and they did it just right! Good clean place with cold beer available and awesome pizza!

My parents live close by and we have ordered pizza from several locations in the area. I can confidently say that any time I’m in town and have a hankering for pizza, I request one and one only: Big Country. Best dough, fresh toppings, perfect sauce ratio, excellent customer service — they’ve got it all. I’m not sure how it used to be when it got some lower reviews, but they are rockin’ now. Eat here!

My sister has a lake house up here, and we have ordered pizza from here sporadically over the past five years. The pizza has always been good. Since Jayson, the son, has taken over, however, I’ve noticed a dramatic improvement not only in the menu, but in the interior as well. The backdrop reminds me of a local Austin space, with retro décor and quality music. Craft beers and unique, value wine is also now available. A great place to bring/meet your friends on a weekend night. Great locale and an alternative to the crowded streets of Gruene.

Big Country was closed for a while as the owner, Bruce, passed away last year. His son has taken over the business and re-opened it. He has done some really nice updates on the place, and the food is still great. We miss seeing Bruce very much, however his son is a wonderful person and will welcome you just as his father did. We enjoy eating there and are happy to see it open again.

My wife and I went to big country pizza last night. Since they recently reopened, the atmosphere and food quality is awesome! We had the navigator… toppings were fresh and the sauce was perfect! They also have a great selection of cold beer. This is by far the best pizza joint on the lake!

I’m a Canyon Lake local and if your looking for good pizza, then do not go here. You’re going to end up paying way to much for a pizza that’s not even worth it. It can be good but it’s nothing special at all. It may be good for people who just want to get out of the house and have a casual dinner somewhere small, but like I said before, It’s just way over priced.
