I love taco shop food, but only when it rocks! I’m born and raised in Mexico so I would consider myself eligible to write a review. What can I say about this place… I will summarize below: Clean, friendly service, the salsas, the salsas, the salsas… Ok, I’m over doing it. They are incredible, the only place that can match them is my grandma(Rest in peace) and mom’s. You can tell that he makes them as if he would eat him himself. Everything I have tried is incredible. But what I get every morning is my delicious custom made bkfst burrito. Other places give you a shitty face when you want to get creative, not this place, why, because the owner is the guy serving the food! So if you want to get service with a smile and super good food, then come to this hidden gem

This is the best taco spot in the valley! There are only two things that separate taquerias from each other, quality and taste of the meat and of the salsas. El Jaliciense is second to none with both of these. They have a simple but extensive menu of Mexican options, but you shouldn’t skip the chicken tacos. Make sure to help yourself to their salsa bar, with a hot salsa that is not to be missed. We have also catered a couple parties from them and they do an amazing job. The owner always remembers his regular customers and is very welcoming. I have tried pretty much every taqueria in the valley and many others around Southern California, and the chicken tacos here are by far my favorite!

I can’t believe no one has reviewed this great lace a a year. Super nice people serving great food. My favorite is the chili rejeno burrito. Go try it way better than fast food and friendlier than other local places.

I finally got a chance to try this place after having moved to the neighborhood about 4 months ago. Ordered a regular burrito and a bottled water for only $ 5! The burrito was about the size of my forearm and was super delicious. When I put my empty plate on the counter after I finished, another patron said to me, «You finished all that by yourself?». The staff is super friendly, too. So glad this place is walking distance from where I live. only thing now is to resist the temptation to eat here every single day. Yum!

DEFINITELYWOULDRECOMMENDTHEM!!! Hired them to cater my daughter’s baptism and they were great. Everyone raved over the food and service. They came in quickly set up and got cooking. They were on time, quick set up, great food, great service and quickly cleaned up. What else can you ask for? The tacos and quesadillas were great.

My most favorite go to place whenever I’m nearby at lunch! Ask Jorge to make it anyway you want it, no problems. Jorge really seems to love cooking and it shows! Excellent food, great prices, and a chef that loves to feed you. 5 stars for the fresh pina and the best lengua ever! Cat, Jr.,& the Mutt have my back on this one too.

DEFINITELYWITHINMYTOPTAQUERIA’S INTHEVALLEY. Where the hell is this taqueria? I would have never found this place if I hadn’t worked in the area. Sitting on a small street across a Lowe’s hardware and behind a Denny’s, Taqueria El Jaliciense is definitely a spot worth visiting if you like a thick juicy burrito in your mouth. I was just talking with my boss about a taqueria nearby. She was ready to jump in the conversation with excitement when she realized I wasnt talking about El Jaliciense, and told me that compared to that that place it has nothing on it. That afternoon I got a burrito from both places for some comparative analysis. Conclusion: Taqueria El Jaliciense takes it. With quite an extensive menu, I opted for the obvious Grande burrito: Price: $ 7.70 Size: Chode. Short but wide. Stuffed to the point where the burrito was peaking out of the foil. Quality: The carne asada was very flavorful, almost to the point where by the last bite it might have been a bit too much. Like eating too much of your favorite ice cream almost. It was stuffed with Guac, rice, beans, pico, cheese, and love. I ordered the burrito and litterally within 5 minutes it was ready. Probably the fastest I have ever experienced. In the long run, 7.70, 8.45 with taxes, is a bit expensive for a hole in the wall, but the burrito was definitely mouth watering and for a quick and tasty fix, it really hits the spot. There are still so many places to visit though, so the search for top burrito continues, but as of now this is up there with Alberto’s in Van Nuys.

Good quality mexican food. The burritos are huge and taste great. Fast speedy and friendly place. Usually come here during lunch. Rarely any people. Definitely a gem in terms of food quality.

El Jaliciense is a neighborhood fast food style Mexican restaurant. Like many of its kind, it has the full range of tacos, burritos, tortas(yummy), and dishes such as enchiladas and carne asada and chile colorado. It also has the typical choices of meats from carne asada to carnitas and lengua(tongue). What makes this a favorite for me when I want cheap good food is the friendliness of the owner, and the honest good taste of the food. The asada itself is seasoned well as are the carnitas(pork) and other meats I’ve tried. The tortas(a favorite food for me) are good, and the bolillo(the roll) is good quality. The salsa is decent, but not as spicy as I’d prefer. If you’re into spice, simply ask as I do for him(owner) to put extra on. While salsa is available at the salsa bar… it’s chilled. I don’t care for chilled salsa on hot food, so I get the owner to put on extra salsa from the kitchen. Overall a good place… better than the vast majority of chain fast food Mexican stands/restaurants — and again the owner is cool. If you come by a few times he pretty much remembers what you do and don“t like… and that’s very cool.

El Jalisciense which translates to «of Jalisco» has a menu with enchiladas, burritos, tamales, mariscos, and chile rellenos which come from Jalisico style recipes. I didn’t try any but someone sitting next to me had the enchiladas and they looked good and cheesy with lots of sauce. As far as tacos they have carne asada, al pastor, cabeza, lengua and carnitas to choose from. Tacos are very well prepared but the salsa didn’t do it for me. Not enough kick but they had several salsas and I might have chosen the wrong one. Definitely check this taqueria out if you live in the area.
