Sashimi is wonderful! Every time I come here I get good fresh sashimi and it’s a generous serving you know I like my sashimi thick ;) lol well the rolls are tasty but some are better then others. It’s a good place to try.

I’ve been here once before and remembered it fondly, so we decided to venture here again. To my surprise, the place was not well taken care of. Some of the staff was bordering on rude, and others — on clingy(asking 6! times if we are sure we don’t want anything else kind of clingy). I should also mention that there were only two tables aside from us. Service: Waitress politely brought menus, asked what we would like to drink, came back with the drinks, and disappeared for 15 minutes — during which no one else asked if we are ready to order. Cashier+busser+server(all one person?) refilled drink quite often which was very pleasant, however being asked whether we want anything else six times was uncomfortable. Food: We ordered a caterpillar roll, tuna+salmon+albacore sushi, and another roll I cant recall the name of.(Crunchy crab inside, eel outside) Sushi was ok, could have been fresher and the temperature was definitely off. Rice was undercooked and not very sticky. It was also cold, which made it unpleasant to handle and eat. Caterpillar roll was pretty good, however there was too much rice and it too, was cold. Eel sauce was too watery and since the roll was set in it, the rice got soggy. The unnamed roll was nice and crunchy, but that’s all it had going for it. Payment: Luckily the check came pretty quickly so we were happy to be on our way. We sat there, and sat there, and sat there… waiting for it to be taken — nothing. Finally 5 minutes later I decided to check if we were to pay at the front, to all of you who didnt know, you do have to pay at the front. Would have been nice if we were told that when the check came. Lastly, for the quality of the food — the prices are ABSOLUTELY outrageous and definitely not worth it. I’ll keep an eye on the reviews to see if anything’s changed, but until then we will definitely NOT be coming back here.

Well this place is alright. The rolls are good but that’s about it. The restaurant itself looks old on the outside and old on the inside. The place felt a little grimy. The floors were dirty and the soy sauce bottles were sticky. The staff was friendly but they were kind of forgetful. They didn’t bring out the plates for soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger until we asked for it. The place was just kind of blah. For the amount of money we spent there it just wasn’t a memorable experience. The spitfire roll was spicy and had lots of spicy tuna! The Oishi special roll was tasty but had way way way to much mayo! Like I said, I did enjoy my rolls but that was the only thing.

Very good sushi and the waitresses are very sweet. My fiancé and I ordered the three hand roll lunch special. They had a great assortment of special rolls as well. This restaurant besides having a good lunch specials, have a good overall selection of sushi. The staff really try to make their customers happy and we love coming back here. Our favorite roll is the lobster roll light mayo.

Do you love sushi? Fresh fish? Perhaps even some uni n squid? Well this place isn’t for you. This is very low quality fish, mostly rice(not good rice). This place is good for mayo covered bs rolls. #neveragain

As of 04÷21÷16… Chris is still SUPER! I sent a message via Eat24. He called and let me know that the food will be ready at 11:15 and he can change one of the items on my order. I called at like 10:55. He gave me the new total since I paid by credit card. Seriously, if Chris didn’t call me today, I would have drop the score on here because of the service I got from the woman I described from 4÷13÷16. I actually ordered on 04÷13÷16 and wasn’t disappointed with the food. But, the lady that I spoke to was pretty short with me when I asked if the food could be ready at 11:20 since we had mentioned before we eat lunch really early.(Please see my previous post). She said«there was a bigger order ahead of us so we will have to wait. Maybe it will be ready at 11:30 or not». Anyways… it was ready by the time we picked it up(after 11:30). Food was good tho! I was going to order from Eat24 but, I think there was a computer glitch or something. No matter tho! This place is a hecka better than California Bowl(if you want to compare). We ordered the following: On the lunch menu 3 of the 2 item combination lunch All different 1 Beef Teri and Chicken curry with Veg tempura roll 1 Chicken Teri & Tonkatsu with Calif Roll 1 Chicken Teri with Shrimp Temputa and Calif roll 1 Chicken Teri bowl 1 Sushi bento box. REMEMBER: all the items except for the bowl came with rice(not the sushi bento box), soup and salad. Except for the Miso shiru being a little too salty, all was OISHIOISHI!(excellent!) But the thing that kept this a 5 star was the service! I called at 9:30AM. Even tho they don’t open until 11:30, Chris(the guy that took my order said he would be able to deliver it by 11:30. The food was actually delivered by 11:29. Not one mistake on the order either!!! Way to go Oishi Japanese Restaurant! WEWILLBEORDERING A LOTMORE!

Came here for dinner with my daughter and enjoyed a yummy roll with scallops on top, thanks to the last picture posted on here. Wasn’t my favorite but good nevertheless. They have great prices for kids menu for children 11 and under. Service was very slow.

We ordered sushi at 6:30 through eat24. They stated delivery takes 45 – 60 minutes. Our sushi was not delivered. They never answered any phone calls we or eat24 placed around 8:30 to ask about the food. Their sushi was ok the last time we ate there… but not good enough to compensate for the ridiculous delivery time and lack of customer service. There are so many good places to get sushi in the valley that we will never order from this place in the future.

I had the pork ramen. It was medicore. It’s not worth trying if you don’t like miso soup because the broth had a miso flavor. I also had the caterpillar roll. It was decent. Overall the food isn’t the best, but it’s not bad either. The service was awful. I had to walk up to the waitress 3 times for service. They weren’t that busy for there to be a delay in service. I wouldn’t recommend this to a person who is a foodie and has had good sushi and ramen cause they might find the food just average. But if you don’t eat ramen and sushi often, you might find this food pretty good!

A lot of choices for not only sushi but also entrees. Lobster hand roll has a good portion of lobster and tastes amazing. Samurai roll is so good. They have lots of specials and prices are pretty decent. Tried the ramen on a cold night and wasn’t my favorite so I’ll just stick to the sushi there. It’s a small restaurant that looks like a house, not the most modern restaurant and kinda needs a facelift but staff is nice and sushi is good. If parking lot is full which it often is, you can easily on the street.

Food is made fresh to order and is delicious, I now come here about once a week during work. Price is exceptional :). Place is casual, with both bar and booth seating

After seeing some silly 1 star reviews for this place, I feel obligated to give this place the delicious justice it deserves! Don’t let the late outdoor 80s façade fool you, this place is great. This was one of the greatest food finds I have come across in the San Fernando Valley for«ROLLS and SAUCYAMERICANSUSHI» . This is NOT a place to come for 5 star omakase or grade A +++raw fish(as obviously reflected on other reviews and the $ of fish). Sure I can be a sushi snob and complain about my grade A– Oishi Sashimi after eating at some higher end joint… but for rolls/etc it can’t be beat Highlights: ANYROLLWITHFRIEDITEMSINIT(especially the sweet crunch roll, wonderfully mayoey goodness of the Oishi roll, lobster Momoya Roll, and Red Dragon roll). Honestly these fried rolls beat the !#@$!@ out of any other rolls I’ve had. You won’t be disappointed with any as long as they’ve hit the low calorie, vegan friendly, gmo free fry oil ;). Ninja Hand Roll: Amazing mix of fish and ingredients I can’t think of but its a must have. Oba — San: Deep fried spicy tuna wrapped in mystical oba– san leaves which I’ve only seen here. Served with ponzu sauce, super tasty . Boats for large parties: HUGE and tasty, but lacking a little on the fried items which I like to gorge on specifically when I come here. Place is not for sushi snobs and overly opinionated 5 star food critics. Have something fried and calm down.

If you’re looking for authentic Japanese food, this is not the place. There seems to be an infatuation of Thai people opening up sushi restaurants because this is third one I’ve happened to come across. Everything is fried or dipped in some kind of sauce with their food. That is not OKAY. Why order raw seafood if you’re just going to mask it with eel sauce? For the most part I would not have strolled in here if it weren’t for hungry company that couldn’t decide on what to eat and were limited to what was in the area. If you like these«fanciful» rolls that are smothered in sauces and tempura, you’ll probably have a kick out of this place.

Thank you Oishi for always providing us with excellent service every single time! This place is beyond friendly and their food is always always fresh! They never charge you extra on sauces and refills! This makes you want to come back more than just once a week! Try The Oishi Roll Special!!! The Power Puff Hand Roll! The Spicy Tuna Hand Roll! The Las Vegas Roll! Omg… I can keep going! You just need to try this place! At the end of your food fulfilling day, you must try the tempura ice cream or the moochi. CONS: I wish they had happy hour! :(
