Had lunch with a large group of 9 pple. The café is located inside the Neiman Marcus dept. store. It’s hidden in the back of the store so just ask any of the store staff and they’ll guide you to it. Ambiance: small & sort of trendy café. You’ll find a bar and seating tables. It was a very gloomy drizzling day so we weren’t able to sit alfresco. The servers were much older and mature. Food: The café offers complimentary: Yorkshire looking bread with strawberry butter(it tasted like it) and a small cup of chicken stock that came with a mini scone. That pairing was rather odd. I ordered the salmon tacos. The dish came with 2 tacos and a side of freshly fried tortilla chips. The ingredients in the tacos were so fresh. The only thing is it’s very difficult to eat when you’re sitting in front of 8 other girls who strives to behave sophisticated. Weird eating tacos with a fork and it’s so wrong! Parking: suggest to park at the valet to avoid dealing with crowded parking structure. Somehow this mall’s parking next to Neiman Marcus is packed before the mall is even opened?

Love the café located in Neiman Marcus at the corner of the men’s section. I enjoy the outdoor patio for lunch with my girl friends. Nice wine selection and well made cocktails. They provide a pop over with strawberry butter once your seated which is light and delicious. I enjoy the salads and soups here so much. The menu changes often but everything is always excellent. Great fresh quality ingredients and excellent service. Casual and delicious. Nice place to stop while your shopping.

Here’s a great marriage of two awesome things — shopping and eating — all in one high-end package. I always say that if you are near a Neiman Marcus, you have found the best place for lunch. This one’s tucked in a corner of the men’s department. All the NMs have a restaurant, whether it’s The Rotunda(San Francisco), Mariposa(Beverly Hills, Newport Beach) or the NM Café here in Topanga. Full bar, yo! Each meal starts with an awesome mini-cup of consommé(clear chicken soup), teeny roll, and jumbo-sized popover with signature Neiman Marcus strawberry butter — both free. Then it’s on to a menu of what-have-you; I like the salmon tacos, the burger, the fries, the salads, you get the idea. Service is on-point; the servers seem to know most of the customers at any Nm restaurant I visit. The Topanga location has some outside outdoor seating, complete with faux waterfall, for your back-to-nature vibe. Being from Philadelphia, I don’t like to eat outside, fortunately the dining room is beautiful with fussy napkin rings and sugar/sweetener in the fancier packets. No reservations necessary here(but they are a must in Beverly Hills, as that restaurant fills quickly with shopping ladies and their caregivers). Save room for dessert. There’s a huge Neiman Marcus chocolate-chip cookie(it’s like $ 4, the best deal in the store) which comes in its own shopping bag, so you can take it to go and everyone will think you stocked up on La Mer products. Enjoy your lunch.

I loved everything except the food… It looks really nice but the taste was not that great… The salad dressing was way to sour and had a bitter taste, salmon was over cooked… But I loved there service and other stuffs. Complimentary bread and butter was so good and starter soup with a little biscuit was really cute!

After working up an appetite in the mall, I decided to try the dineLA lunch menu at the hidden NM Café. NM Café is a little restaurant tucked in the corner of the men’s department in Nieman Marcus. There is both indoor and outdoor seating; though the café does not seat many, it feels very open and spacious. I noticed that many items that were on the dineLA menu were not on the regular menu. Shortly after we were seated our waitress delivered our menus and we were served complimentary pop overs with strawberry butter. The pop overs were light and warm. The strawberry butter had potential but needed time to reach room temperature because the texture was not spreadable when served. Our waitress returned to our table to take our orders. She was a sweet lady with a heavy European accent and sort of all over the place(explanation to follow). From the dineLA lunch menu we ordered: bolognaise arancini, potato celeriac bisque, honey rosemary chicken breast, and flank steak chimichurri(one appetizer, one entrée $ 25/person). Bolognaise arancini: these were essentially little risotto balls with a bolognaise center fried up to a crisp and served with a pesto cream sauce. They were crispy on the outside and soft to the bite on the inside. They were served on these little pick up sticks that were easy to manage and dip in the pesto cream sauce. The pesto sauce was refreshing. Potato celeriac bisque: this was a creamy celery root bisque topped with potato crisps that looked like mini french fries. The soup was velvety and smooth. I enjoyed the crispy potato on top as well; they added another layer of flavor to what could’ve been a bland soup. The soup was topped with freshly ground black pepper. Pan seared honey rosemary chicken breast: this item was served with truffle couscous, cauliflower and crispy asparagus. The chicken was mediocre; the sear on the chicken was not well illustrated. It was a bit bland for my pallet. The truffle couscous did not have much truffle flavor, but was mixed with cauliflower and hazelnut with added a few layers of flavor. The crispy asparagus was similar to a tempura fry. The dish was well presented, but mediocre. I wouldn’t order it again. Flank steak chimichurri: this dish was served with herb chimichurri sauce, yukka fries and crispy broccolini. The steak was cooked medium per our asking and was very tender and flavorful. The steak was seasoned well and paired very well with the chimichurri sauce. The yukka fries were fulfilling and also went very well with the chimichurri. The broccolini was fried tempura style, but was light and crispy. All in all, NM Café was an okay place to lunch, but does not stand out to my in any way shape or form. Our waitress was a bit flimsy and brought out the wrong appetizer. After we let her know she took the plate and ran off with it and came out right away with the right appetizer. She also brought out our check with no pen and was a bit forgetful about refilling our refreshments. Though some of the dishes we had were good, this café wouldn’t be my first choice in the area.

My family treated me to a day of shopping and lunch at Topanga Plaza Mall. What a fantastic day we had! Shopping for goodies at Sephora and Mac; and the best of all, lunch at Neiman Marcus! My aunt had remembered me raving about the popovers from past experiences, and so she surprised me with this choice for my birthday. From the cheeseburger to the tortilla soup, from the salmon tacos to my scoop of oh-so-fresh chicken salad and truffle fries, everyone had a delicious meal. Our server was Ella — and she was equal parts fantastic server and entertainer. At the end, she was more like family. I look forward to going back for more.

Food & service normally good but not today. Ordered crab cakes and fries. Fries not cooked so I sent them back and never saw them again. Waitress comes 15 minutes later and gives me check. Tell her about fries«Sorry». Brings check no adjustments but offers me cookie which I refuse as I am a diabetic.

I love this place! From the popovers & Strawberry butter to their absolutely delicious cocktails and their ever-changing menu! The food here is almost always on point and the service almost always great. This spot is on my list of usual lunch spots — especially on the weekend. If you’re around, even if you aren’t at the mall, but you want to treat yourself to something casual and delicious — but not insanely priced, definitely come check this place out. It’s totally worth it.

A must for a you day — girl day! NM starts you with a wonderful welcome and savory(but light) bread paired with chicken broth and strawberry butter — waiting bread heaven(seriously). That, girly(and sparkly) drinks, and fresh salads(that wont make you fat but are still delicious), is all blissfulness. Try the Georgia Peach. Sure it has peach nectar, but it also has, grenadine, lemon juice, and most exciting of all sparkling cider(my favorite!). It is a bit sweet but really what thing that’s good and nice isn’t sweet? I love it. On that note, also order a water. As a main entrée, I recommend the Gingered — Crusted Ahi Tuna salad. Just image, a bed of greens, raregrilled asparagus, candied mango, macadamia nuts, daikon sprouts,(ask for no avocado), topped with seared ahi. To make things nicer swirl a bit of the sesame soy vinaigrette dressing over all of that — interactive meals are always so much fun. You might feel like you’ve been so good about eating healthy that you deserve a piece of the flour-less chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sauce. Treat yourself. It’s worth it. Special touch — every meal comes with a beautiful orchid flower. I love flowers! NM café, you make me a happy girl.

Over priced and food is very plain. The only good thing about this place is there isn’t a wait and nice patio.

This was my first time here and it definitely won’t be my last. This place is so delicious and I finished every last bite of my food. It’s fresh, cooked perfectly, and tastes so yummy!!! My sister and I shared two dishes. We got the sautéed salmon filet and grilled shrimp and quinoa. The potatoes and mushrooms that came with the salmon were truly sublime!!! I’m thinking about them as I write this review. They are just so darn delicious!!! The goat cheese in the salad was soooo good and the avocado was creamy and deliciously smooth. We also both got a Georgia Peach and all I can say is YUM!!! I’m always shopping at the Topanga Mall and this is surely a place I will frequent when I shop and need a lunch break :) Once you eat here you’ll want to come back again and again. I’m anticipating my next visit and I can not wait!!!

Went here after shopping for christmas gifts and tried it out, ambiance is good i ordered the truffle pasta with wild mushroom and spinach with red wine. It’s pretty good but price is comparable to nordstrom café. Although this is more high end. Servers seems to be snobby here just cause i wasn’t dressed as what the people here looked when i showed up. Took awhile for me to flag down a server to take my order, either they were snobby or could be that theyre busy at the time i went. Otherwise food is good.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Neiman’s café, unlike its clothing, is actually quite reasonably priced! And on top of that, the fare is fresh and light. I was happy to see that, since I’m just not into ultra extravagant lunches — I prefer not to eat heavily during the day. But despite being lighter, Neiman’s café definitely caters to my foodie side. It’s truly great. They start you off with a delicious brioche-esque popover. The texture is cloud soft and it’s delicious with the strawberry butter it’s served with. The chicken broth(served in an adorable little espresso cup, alongside a miniature cheddar biscuit) is also really good. For my main course, I ordered the quinoa noodles with shrimp. It was perfectly seasoned and sauced, and the shrimps were generously sized and grilled just right. Service is friendly and efficient, and the ambiance is very serene and private. If you want a nice quiet lunch with great food, go here. I can’t wait to go back!

Not a large selection of food but is a good option while at the mall. Expensive menu for the kind of food but then again it is inside Neiman Marcus. Enjoyable to sit outside by the waterfall and enjoy there croissant with strawberry butter as a pre-meal treat.

Not my usual type of place to lunch, but I was here with co-workers. It was a hot week in the valley and even though we had a reservation, we were seated outside. Luckily they accommodated us and let us sit inside right before our meals arrived. I’ve never been here before and was surprised by the complimentary«appetizers» provided to us: espresso cup of broth, small cheddar biscuit, a large popover with strawberry butter. Personally, I think the broth and biscuit should be reserved for winter — it felt weird sipping hot broth in 100° weather. And that small biscuit was kind of a joke — it was almost unnecessary. However, the popover and strawberry butter were excellent! I ordered the AHITUNANICOISETORTA(«grilled rare, copanata, tomato, sliced egg, arugula, artichoke aïoli, truffle fries») and it was reeeeeally good! The portion was large but not too large, not too messy, and all the components meshed so well together. Definitely made the stuffy atmosphere a little more comfortable ;)
