I give this place 1 star for the location other than that I had the most unpleasant experience here. We were ignored and looked over for a gentleman and his family who arrived after us. I don’t normally put up a fuss for simple mistakes over who came first but when asked if there was a line, the server looked my husband directly in the eyes with stiffed neck and chest puffed out, challenging and rudely replied to my husband, «right there!» and nodded his head towards where my husband and I were standing. No, apologies or acknowledgement. In all honesty we did get there before the man he was helping and there was just another couple that was there before us who were also asian. The Caucasian man and his family came in shortly after we did. Being skipped in line is not why I think this place is awful. It is because the server was rude. A simple, acknowledgement that he would take care of us shortly would’ve suffice over his arrogance. To that server — Cannon Beach has coffee and ice creams shops on every corner, thank you for encouraging me to spread the word to not choose this place for your simple arrogance. I think you should have a lesson on customer service, ethnic demographics of Hawaii(being that you work in a place that sell its products, and throw in some white privilege for extra credit.

We stopped in for a milkshake on our way out of town. My husband and I both got our own and they were very runny. My chocolate milk shake was like drinking a cold chocolate milk, but tasted chalky. It was not the thicker creamy consistency that make milkshakes the enjoyable treat that they usually are. My husband said if I wasn’t going to drink it then I should go back and ask them to remake it. I HATE being the person who does this but I hate wasting my money even more. I decided to go back. I re-waited in the short line for a few minutes and the same girl who made our shakes became available to assist me again. I apologized for being picky or annoying, but the milkshake just didn’t taste good and was complete runny. I asked if I could just have a scoop of ice-cream instead(because I didn’t trust her to re-make it). She looked at me with disdain and replied«well I know it wasn’t runny when I made it but whatever, what do you want». …“but whatever”??? Is this the new raise-the-minimum-wage-customer-service? I put my time in with both the food and retail industry and if I responded to a customer the way she did I would have been reprimanded. Hopefully she was just having a bad day, but it’s doubtful considering she didn’t smile to greet me either time and that I was extra aware of my tone to try and be kind in my complaint because I know how it feels on the receiving end…“but whatever”.

Owner was super rude, seemed very stressed out and overworked. He had no help on a 75 degree day at the beach. Talk about a cheapskate! Maybe nobody wants to work for him… Best thing you can do is put your money where your mouth is, so we went to A & J’s Ice Cream Parlor and had a great experience.

First time trying this place off of a recommendation from a friend. Really yummy ice cream and great customer service. I ordered the chocolate peanut butter which had chucks of peanut butter in it which was sooo good!

Stopped in for the first time today. Cute place, great menu, terrible service. The guy in front of me and I stood at the counter waiting for service while four or five of the kiddos staffing the place carried on their conversations and glanced over from time to time. Umm… Hello… I don’t think asking to order is too much of a request… But if it is, Bella Espresso is across the way and I never have a problem getting a decent cup of coffee and service for a good price.

Awesome shop with ice cream cones, shakes, malts, coffee drinks, espresso, and smoothies. Hawaiian themed, small, and limited window seating at a little bar but since it is on the main drag there are plenty of places to take your treat on the go. 50cent charge for credit purchases under $ 5 but that wasn’t a problem since one 20oz shake was $ 6.95. My daughter and I split one shake and it was a perfect little treat after the beach.

Osburn’s is a cute shop in a prime location. Those in my party ordered coffee almond fudge, Tillamook mudslide, and mint chocolate chip, which we all enjoyed. Service was prompt and friendly — despite the large crowds. The reason for four stars was the lack of parking and the higher prices, but for being in a tourist area, are to be expected.

Simone was THEBEST! Came in for a birthday treat and she hooked me up. Great service and though my order was intense, she embraced it! Delicious chocolate ice cream and waffle cone. Definitely recommend.

We were pretty disappointed with the ice cream here. When I saw«creamery» I thought that it was homemade, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t. There were a ton of smoothie selections on the wall — I think that might have been a better choice.

Love this place! It reminds me of a movie-esque beach shack with its Hawaiian/surf décor, propped open door, and super chill and friendly staff. The line is very confusing when you first enter because there’s no obvious sign indicating where to start, so everyone just crowds around the first cash register until the next person happens to make eye contact with one of the servers. And I say first cash register because there’s another one at the other end of the shop that sometimes a server will use, but not all the time, and you can’t tell when it’ll be used, so everything is very free-flowing. Where do you go? Is it your turn? Are you cutting someone in line? Nobody knows. The menu boards are also jampacked with all sorts of offerings yet nowhere is the price of a basic ice cream cone apparent. I was pleasantly baffled. I still am. But all of that just adds to the general hubbub so I didn’t mind. The ice cream is delicious and comes in an impressive variety of flavors. There are classic ones like Strawberry, Coffee, Mint Chocolate Chip, etc; but also fun/local ones like Huckleberry Heaven, Tillamook Mudslide, Maui Waui, and Marionberry Pie. The staff will let you sample if you ask! My Tillamook Mudslide was a veeery chocolatey chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips. The ice cream is also blessedly inexpensive — one-scoop cone and cup together only cost $ 6! But I still don’t know how much the cone itself cost.

If you know me at all, you’ll know that sometimes I am a five year old trapped in the body of a twenty-something year old. This really comes to light when I am ordering Ice Cream. I love visiting small independent ice cream shops because if I’m lucky, I can find blue bubblegum flavor — with no chunks of bubblegum to get in my way. I turned down ice cream at the Tillamook farm in the hopes I would find what I was looking for in Cannon Beach, and luckily Osburn’s had it! I walked in and waded through customers to look at the flavors. Like a bright shining blue pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, there it was! I hope they never get rid of this flavor so that I can always count on it when I visit Cannon Beach. Apart from the delicious ice cream, the shop itself is a little confusing. There’s no area that seems to be designated for the start of a line, so people just seemed to mill about, not sure of who should get taken care of first. The service was also kind of slow, which probably wouldn’t be a big deal if a few people were there, but when they are 10 people standing around and no one knows where to go, it can get frustrating. To add to the confusion, there were two different registers that were being used on opposite sides of the shop. Despite that, I’ll still come back. I didn’t try any coffee but it smelled absolutely amazing while I was waiting to get helped.

The only downside to this Cannon Beach staple is his Hawaiian time hours so he is closed a lot when we try to go here for ice cream. He has a great assortment of wonderful ice cream and the pricing is very reasonable. One of these days I will try a smoothie or a sundae but usually I just grab a cone.

Cant believe people gave two or one star because they were cash only. I mean they poated signs everywhere so shame on you. Now they take credit cards for 5 dollar or more purchases. I give 4 stars becuase they have unique flavors of ice cream and creative drinks both hot and cold. I also crave Hawaiian coffee. They seem to have all my specialty cravings. I would be amiss to not mention like many other Cannon Beach places they dont have or dont believe in staffing during the winter.

Saw that these guys were losing stars due to being cash only… Well… They’ve updated! They take cards now on purchases above $ 5(that seems to be a rule in Cannon Beach). The décor is beach themed and they have covered seating on benches just around the corner. It’s perfect if you like licking things while people watching. I ordered a Peanut Caramel shake. It was smooth, creamy, not too sweet, and perfect. I believe they have a dog who hangs out with their guests named Ozzy. He’s the best!

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Cannon Beach, this place is my family’s go-to stop for a cool treat before heading back toward Portland. I’m pretty sure their other ice cream flavors are just dandy, but I haven’t had anything other than the coffee flavor. I’m a little embarrassed… I don’t remember the name of it. Perhaps java-something? Maybe even mocha-something? I don’t know. I’ve been there several times now and all I remember is that I need to get«the coffee one». I also get an Americano to go with it. The two compliment each other exceedingly well. It’s actually pretty good coffee all on its own. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the fact that it’s cash only and there’s no obvious ATM close by. Well, you can walk a few minutes to get to one, but when I say close, I mean RIGHT there. A few times now, I’ve placed my order before remembering that they don’t take cards. It’s just frustrating… not the end of the world. And certainly not enough to keep me from coming back, because I’m pretty sure I’ll hit up Osburn’s every time I go to the beach.
