I have never experienced a more rude staff! I believe the owner took my order. I have food allergies and unfortunately can’t have wheat. Every restaurant I’ve ever been to always has something they can do for me… so I asked if they could just make me an egg… anything I had just driven from Portland and I was super hungry and we hadn’t had breakfast yet. So I said sarcastically well I guess I’m not gonna get to eat then and he turned his back and walked away didn’t even care at all or offer any suggestions. When they brought my son his bagel it was the cook who hand-delivered it she had the rudest look on her face and I mentioned that I was really hungry and I get super sick if I eat baked goods and asked if there was anything I could do. She was so incredibly rude to me. She raised her voice saying that I’m asking her to do something she doesn’t offer that there’s many restaurants down the way that can offer me this… my jaw dropped I have never been treated so terribly.

The owner was so sweet. My husband and I sat out front and shared a basket of fish and chips & a cider! We loved it and will be back!

Very cool place. Cheri is very nice, very friendly and we enjoyed talking with her. I ordered a Burger with cheddar cheese and fries. The cheese was the only thing I would have to ‘complain’ about. I’d just say I would’ve wanted more of it. Everything was just so good! The best part of my meal was the fries– crunchy on the outside and creamy mashed potato like on the outside. After dinner we took home 3 cinnamon rolls. Cheri’s cinnamon rolls are huge! The bread part of the cinnamon roll is very moist and very good. Overall– very good meal.

We have a summer house on the Oregon Coast. This is our go to spot for fish and chips in the area. Love the fish sandwich too. Cheri explained that they hand cut the servings from fresh fish and have their own scratch recipe batter, Bakery items are delicious too. This is one of the more reasonably priced restaurants in Cannon Beach. That this place caters to locals is a good sign. Highly recommend it — have eaten here often.

We stopped in this lovely café on the way down the coast. Cheri was so welcoming, we each had a beer from the selection of microbrews on tap. The pizza by the slice looked too good to pass up. It was as delicious as anticipated. After this pleasant experience we headed out and continued on our journey. On our next stop 1 ½ hours later my daughter realized she had forgotten her purse. We called and spoke to Cheri who said she would mail the purse back to us! This was such a relief. The idea of losing 3 hours of travel time to retrace our steps was an overwhelming idea. I have to take this opportunity to praise Cheri for the wonderful customer service. I’ve had businesses similar to this and I can say from experience that it’s not easy. The hours are long, the work is hard and it’s more often than not a thankless existence. I am appalled that people feel it’s okay to call a business owner unkind names. Cheri went above and beyond

They looked closed but went in and enjoyed great food and friendly service. They had a banjo and guitar musician playing. Great atmosphere! Will be back

The old lady was so rude. Only place in this town that I have received a bad attitude. She greeting us. «What I can I help you with»… So much attitude. After got my coffee. Tossed my debit card on the counter. Then turned around and walked away. We are so nice and have appreciated the kind service in the town. Never had such an attitude as this lady’s. Don’t come here. Period.

If I could give negative stars I would. Ate lunch today, super slow service. The owner/waitress looked annoyed that anyone was there. Ordered a garden salad(actually delicious) and pepperoni and sausage pizza. I don’t know how you could mess up pizza but they did. Undercooked and bland. I’ve had better frozen pizza. Will never go back.

You really need to avoid this place. The older woman who runs the joint is a complete bitch and was rude to our family and we ended up leaving without eating. It was like we were inconveniencing her to be there wanting to eat at her establishment. Do not go here!

This café had 2.5 stars on Unilocal the day that we decided to try it. We should have looked elsewhere. The service was borderline terrible and the food was average at best. They weren’t welcoming at all, more worried about making sure that we knew all the things we couldn’t do and places that we couldn’t sit than caring at all about serving their customers. After we were seated, we saw them giving the same spiel about where they couldn’t sit and if they sat outside they’d have to come in for counter-service to each new perspective group of customers. They were so unwelcoming that many groups immediately left upon arriving. After being seated our service was terribly slow, having to ask to place our order, and then ask twice for our check.

Terrible human runs this restaurant. Rude to my family. Zero customer service. Left and went across the street. Don’t go here.

Bakery and café with casual and pleasant indoor and outdoor seating. Soups, deli sandwiches, burgers, seafood, pizza, homemade baked goods and deserts made from scratch daily. Microbrews on tap! We were looking for a snack to carry us back to Portland later for dinner. Soup of the day was black bean with just a bit of spice– delicious, you good taste the freshness. All in all, good food, good value, good service and good atmosphere — well done! We’ll do it again when back at Cannon Beach! I can bump this review up 1-star if there were organic, local and farm fresh choices in abundance on the menu(I always hold back a star for the restaurant that takes it up 1-notch).

mediocre food. decent atmosphere. cheri was our server at the bar and was extremely rude to my brother and I for no reason through the entire lunch service. not sure if she was having a bad day but we are friendly people and we left her restaurant with a bad taste in our mouths(both literally and figuratively). I’ve never written a negative review before but we would never return to this establishment and would warn friends before going.

Great local café! Went with some folks and had coffee and pastries — met Cheri, who is a Cannon Beach veteran and loves to ham it up with her patrons. If you are planning on going here, know that this is not a typical Oregon Coast«tourist trap» — it’s a local meeting spot. So, be patient as Cheri and her staff mingle with her regulars and don’t instantly swoon over the«out of towners» who want their cappuccinos in a hurry. If you are looking for local flavor and culture, visit Cheri’s — if you just want tourist food, head over to Morris’s or Pig’n’Pancake.

We stopped there on a drive down the coast and found our meal and conversation with Cheri to be the highlight of our day. We will go back!

I have no idea how such a horrible establishment could survive in such a small town. The lady who waited on me made me feel like a bother. She was rude when I first walked in because I didn’t know what to order right off the bat. Then I found out she was the owner and I was shocked. I would not go back to this establishment for any reason and I hope she has to close for the sake of adorable cannon beach.

I am a local in Cannon Beach and this woman that runs this place is the rudest woman I’ve ever encountered around here. She has no customer service whatsoever, on top of being rude to the pain customers, it’s too sad because repeat business but bring lots more money into her pocket but apparently she’s not that happy about it. Rumor around town is the cinnamon rolls are great but it’s not worth trying for her being rude. So my devices skip that place find another one down the road people are a lot more friendly.

Returned here again and a friend and I decided to eat in the café and it was just as great as take-out. The owner waited on us and and she was courteous and answered our questions, which the only question we had was if they had lemonade and they do and she also informed us that they make the lemonade right there and it was great. I had the ham on rye bread which was very good and my friend had the french dip and said it was awesome. Thanks again Cheri’s café for the good food! I will return next year.

When we got to Cannon Beach, OR. we just kind of fell in love with the charm of this pretty little town. The main street is filled with upscale gift shops and a plethora of tempting sounding restaurants. We went to the local visitor’s center and while there we asked for recommendations of where we could get a light lunch. They mentioned several good possibilities but Cheri’s Café and Cannon Beach Cookie which is also a bakery sounded just what we were looking for. As soon as we walked in, the lady behind the counter told us to sit anywhere we liked and she’d bring us lunch menus. We told her we just wanted a light lunch and she suggested a tuna sandwich with chips and a cup of coleslaw. Then she said the magic words«this is NOTHING like the tuna you are probably expecting. It is fresh tuna, caught this morning.» She gladly served up a half sandwich each on two plates and even gave us two cups of coleslaw and chips. It was just the right amount of food when served with a glass of iced tea. Another item on the menu caught my eye and since she had been so nice about the split sandwich, not charging any extra for the service, I ordered a helping of Savory Bread Pudding to take with me. It was really very good, when I heated it in the microwave that afternoon after we checked into our motel. Hubby picked up a burger at DQ and we hung out at the beach instead of spending the time getting dinner in a restaurant. I’ve not had a savory bread pudding before, but now I want another helping… just writing about it! Too bad Cannon Beach is so far away…

If you order a sandwich make sure you like damp wilted lettuce drowning in mayo. I was told the baguette would be grilled. What I wasn’t told was that it would be grilled long before I showed up and then reheated in a microwave to a perfect rubbery piece of crap consistency. We had the added misfortune of being waited on by the owner herself. What a pleasant woman.
