Felt like I was bothering the staff by ordering 2 sandwiches the afternoon of Dec. 23rd. Place was busy and I wanted to make sure I was in the correct line, so i asked if there were separate lines for the bakery vs. the deli. The gal who helped me looked annoyed, but proceeded to walk over and take my order, then make my sandwiches. Tried to strike up a friendly conversation with the other gal there too, but she too seemed ‘bothered.‘ Bakery items look good, but sandwiches really lacked flavor. Had to add our own salt and pepper back in our hotel room. Bread also seemed cheap and lacked flavor. Paid $ 20.75 for 2 mediocre sandwiches. Boo. «Might» be back someday for pastries, but definitely not ordering sandwiches again. **Tip to management/staff: A smile and being courteous goes a long way.

I ordered a standard-size double-layer birthday cake without ever having tasted the goods from this bakery, and was delighted with the flavor and moistness of the cake. Every cake I’ve ordered the past few years from a variety of Seattle bakeries has been on the dry side, and not very tasty. Cannon Beach Bakery will get my business again if I’m ever nearby and need a special order cake! The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient both on the phone and in person. I also tried a haystack roll while I was in the shop, but that didn’t impress me. It may have been better warmed and with butter, but out of the case it was plain.

Great donuts. Staff was not customer friendly but I guess it’s a tourist town and that’s to be expected !!

Go for the pastries; stay away from the coffee. Coffee — beside being poor — will take FOREVER.

Wow, so, they’re not friendly! But the coffee is drinkable. And we tried a doughnut and a cookie, and those were fine. They’re just not gonna win any«sweetheart» prizes, I don’t think!

Came in on Saturday to get a birthday cake for Grandmas birthday. I prepaid for the cake and they said it will be ready by noon. I returned on Sunday at noon to pick it up only to be told it’s not ready and won’t be for another hour. I was offered no refund even thought they hadn’t even started assembling the cake. It was the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. And Grandma didn’t get a cake for her birthday. I will never ever go back.

Stumbled upon this place but would now make a beeline there. So difficult to choose but extremely happy with my glazed poppy seed muffin. Donuts are great too like the buttermilk cruellers.

I don’t know where to begin. Me and(the soon to be wife) fell in love with this place and chose it to be the place to make our wedding cake. This was back in August of last year. We live in Idaho and are having a destination wedding in Rockaway Beach this upcoming September. Less than a few weeks ago she emailed us(after being in constant communication asking all questions we could) she informs us our cake can not be done and that she is «booked» even though we gave her the exact date several times over a period of 9 months! It also took her forever to reply to anything. I should have realized this when she wanted us to buy the cake ribbon and starfish and send them to her to decorate the cake with. Are you kidding me? You make wedding cakes and you don’t supply your own decoration supplies? Over this period we also asked when/how she wanted the deposit with no direct answer, the final email we received seemed like she had no idea what the hell was going on. Considering this is over Labor Day weekend, she most likely will be out of town and that is why she is «booked» and can no longer make our cake(but that is just speculation). Now we are struggling to find another cake maker or take a risk of transporting a cake from Idaho. In all honesty, she seemed like a nice lady, but this is totally unacceptable and terrible customer service. We will be sure never to set foot into this bakery again on our future trips.

I think people usually stop in for one of their donuts or desserts(there’s a huge selection!) but I got a killer sandwich here. They have a signature bread called haystack that I highly recommend and although you won’t find a lot of sauces and fancy extras here, you’ll get a solid good old fashioned sandwich and pickle. Next time we’ll grab it to go and head to the beach.

Horrible service for our wedding, much like the reviewer in June. Our wedding ceremony/reception vendor had this bakery on their list of vendors and we mistakingly took that as a recommendation. We called to make an appointment to do the tasting months ago. They were rude on the phone and I had to wait beyond a reasonable amount of time to speak with Robin. She was curt, but I shrugged it off as her being busy(which would be a good thing). We did go and taste and what they presented was a plate of cake, fillings and frostings. We matched up a couple that we liked and thought that the cake tasted better than the other bakery we tried in town. We paid a deposit and happily thought we had crossed something off our list. Our wedding vendor then asked us who was making the cake, and when we responded with Cannon Beach Bakery, she made a horrible face and said«We do not recommend them.». My husband then called the bakery and cancelled our order and we waited and waited for our deposit to be returned. No such luck. My husband eventually wore me down and convinced me that they couldn’t be that bad and he called back to again confirm that we were down for our cake on our wedding day. Our reservation had never been cancelled in the first place(2nd red flag). My husband called a week or so prior to the wedding to confirm the cake and the drop off time: «all is well» he hears from them & makes the final payment. Robin actually called me 3 days prior to our wedding and again confirmed drop off time… I’m feeling a-ok by this point. Now to wedding day: they deliver the cake 30 minutes late, it’s leaning heavily to one side and all-in-all looks like crap. My mom has to rush decorating it and in the end it was a giant waste of several hundred dollars. We will not have a beautiful wedding cake picture to look back on for the rest of our lives. Stay away from them if you’re looking for a smooth, professional experience. Flat out, DONOT support this business. They are in the business of ripping people off and providing horrible goods & services.

The almond bear claw and marionberry Danish were both delicious! Also bought a load of Haystack bread to take home. Yum!

Decent selection of items. Almond bear claw was tasty and not too sweet. Apple donuts were also quite good. Chocolate twists were not worth the calories.

Hands down, best baked goods in Canon Beach. Home of the original Haystack Bread, fresh loaves of bread and rolls baked daily, huge donuts, macaroons, sandwiches… You can’t go wrong here. Super warm and friendly staff, quick service. I will come back any time I’m in town!

I had ordered my wedding cake from this bakery for my destination wedding, after reading great reviews. However a miscommunication led to my cake not being ready to pick up the morning of my wedding. After waiting around an hour for the cake to be finished,(i was late to my hair appointment) it was suggested that the cake could be delivered to me… which was an awesome alternative, she told me she would be to the salon in one hour… two hours later she arrived, with my «cake» it was extremely sloppy & looked nothing like the photograph i had sent two weeks prior. I provided the bakery with all the succlents & vines for my cake plus a photograph 2 weeks prior & pre-payment. Here i was an hour before my wedding rushing to undecorate this sloppy cake and try to make it look like my dream cake on the image when all the succlents were removed the cake was lop sided by an entire inch on one side we tried to move it onto the cake stand where it then collapsed… i was left rushing to fred myers for a cheese cake after paying $ 47 for a 6 inch wedding cake… both my husband and i have tried to contact the bakery with no return calls. This was a very important part of my wedding that was an utter disappointment. The owner took it upon herself to personally email me on facebook and block me. This is copied from my personal email. Not much to say – so-so apple fritter, okay muffins, less than excellent coffee. Nearby coffee shops do not offer an array if edibles, otherwise there would be no reason to stop in for a morning snack and coffee.

I would never say that having to choose between the massive apple fritter and the almond-filled bear claw was like the movie Sophie’s Choice. .. I would never say that. .. I tried the almond-filled bear claw and it was delicious! I also sampled a friend’s bismarck and was glad it didn’t catch my eye while I was trying to decide between the apple fritter the size of my face and the bear claw that was bathed in gooey, sugary goodness and almonds(because the bismarck was great and I didn’t want to make another hard choice, that is what I’m implying). Great price, the ½ price shelf of day old baked goods was awesome(large loaf of cheesy, jalapeño bread for $ 2!) and I hope I get to go back to Cannon Beach soon to get some more of the bakery!

Boy was it refreshing to have great customer service in Cannon Beach! Seriously Cannon Beach is like the bi-polar customer service capital of the world. Hit or miss. Cannon Beach Bakery was a HIT! :) The lady was SO nice and went out of her way to find out allergen information on their products for us. She finally found one that we could eat & it was DELICIOUS. It was some kind of muffin but tasted like a donut! I will buy that muffin every time I go!

We had very good here service from the moment we walked in. The guy behind the counter was very accomodating and allowed my wife to take both of our kids behind the kitchen area to wash their hands. For a little sweet tooth, I got a mocha which wasn’t bad, cured my itch but their doughnuts were great(glaze and cinnamon). We’ll be back next time there… I also wanted to comment after seeing Dave R’s coffee/Latte comment. I was leary of getting something like this(mocha) here for $ 3.75 but we were on our our spring break trip and thought to give it a try(and support the business). Next time, I’d probably just stick with the coffee.

Wow nothing like it use to be. Danish was dry, scone was also. Latte tasted like they used Folgers. Not much choice in town for a scone or a coffee on a Wednesday morning. Should have driven to Seaside.
