My friends and I wanted to switch up our scene from our usual Downtown San Jose bars, so we decided to come to Campbell for The Spot since we’ve heard great things about it. So why not? I absolutely love the cute area of Downtown Campbell! Super cute with independent local stores along the main streets and nicely lit up trees. Anyway, onto the bar… We came and it was super busy! The line to get through the bouncers was pretty long, but went by really quickly. We got in and it was suuuuuper crowded. The bar is immediately by the entrance. My friends and I wanted to start off with some shots and drinks but it took a little to even get through the crowd and to the bar, THEN took even longer to get served. The bartender even looked at us and just went on to other people… what? lol. The venue is pretty large! theres a whole dance floor on the first floor and there’s an upstairs with another bar and lounge chairs and open space. Theres also an outside patio area I believe, but we didnt go there. Overall, service is super slow, not really our type of crowd/people(late 20s/early 30s. we’re all 22 haha). it was okay but probably not coming back. Esp since its the only decent bar in the area, so we cant really bar hop.

The place isn’t bad but the bouncers are absolutely terrible and obviously haven’t been trained in customer service. One of the most important aspects of running a business is to understand that customers drive profits and hence they won’t come back if they are treated poorly. Now to be fair, one of the bouncers was respectful and polite. However there were two bouncers that acted as if customers were nothing more than something to kick to the curb when the time was right. Obviously I won’t be back.

Review for New Years Eve 2016. Why did I give this place one star? 1. ENTRY: $ 20 a person to get in(super short line, wasn’t even poppin like that) at approximately 11:20pm on New Years Eve. 2. BARSERVICE: the worst bar service I have ever experienced. I got in around 11:25pm, and I did not get my drink until 11:52pm. I checked the time. There were three bartenders upstairs. All three of them made eye contact with me, and did not get to me until I had to wave my hand at the female, all the way on the other side of the bar. In addition to that, the bartenders were helping people who were there after me, which really frustrated me because I was standing there waiting way before the people they were helping. I had two AMF’s, and two amaretto sours, the total of 4 drinks were approximately $ 37. 3. MUSIC: the worst mix of songs. I had no idea what the dj’s were doing, they seemed really into it, but I was not. The music they played were EDM& alternative, but like the confused version of that if you get what I’m saying. I wasn’t feelin’ it at all. I don’t mind EDM, but it was all basic, oldies of EDM, and oldies of alternative. I love EDM and all, but throw in some hip hop here and there please, especially when there’s a big crowd. People were literally fist pumping and jumping into the New Year of 2016. 4. CROWD: Around your 20’s to 30’s crowd. Pushing & shoving. Was it diverse? Nope. 5. VENUE: I must admit, I really liked the venue, but everything else threw me off. There was an upstairs and an outside seating area. One bar up stairs & one bar downstairs. The venue was perfect and spacious(me imagining the venue alone without a big crowd of people). Other than that, thank you for the balloons that fell down the dance floor at midnight. I took two balloons home.

First of all, whoever thought of the name is a genius. I mean, can’t you just hear someone saying«Yo, that place is awesome. It’s THESPOT.» Buuuut does it live up to its name? In some ways, yes. I’m a fan of bars/clubs/lounges with a lot of different places to hang out. You’ve got your upstairs bar, the downstairs dance floor, and a patio. There’s also a good amount of seating for those nights when you just can’t handle the heels. In most ways though, no. This place is way too crowded. It’s understandable to have a lot of people in clubs, but this was one of those things where if you get pushed over you won’t fall bc there’s just that many people. There’s even a line outside where they’re letting more people in! C’mon man, cut it off. The place itself is hidden off from the Main Street of downtown Campbell and the parking lot is small. The music isn’t that great, the crowd isn’t as fun, and the drinks are just alright. Maybe I caught it on a bad night, but I probably wouldn’t go again.

It was a cool spot I guess. Gets pretty crowded but not too much to where you cant walk lol The crowd was good. Drinks were great! DJ needs to get replaced… or is it just different since I’m from LA?

We’ve come here on numerous occasions, including tonight and last Halloween. We always have our own«spot» on the 2nd floor left corner. Tonight we had purchased several drinks and were Here for around 2 hours. Security and some«host» abruptly rudely kicked us out of the corner balcony because someone apparently«rented the space». I would like to know why an area was even«for sale» if it wasn’t roped off or designated as such. I am extremely unsatisfied and quite honestly, pissed off to be subjected to such«customer service» and have no intention of returning to this bar again. It’s fine if you want to have some sort of «upswell» but get your shit together and make that area aware beforehand before kicking out regulars from an open area to make a «buck».

I would probably only come back when Colburn is playing! He played a really mean set last night that got the crowd moving and the drinks kept coming! Brace yourself to get drinks spilled on you! There would be people so drunk with a drink in their hand, getting all over the place or bumping you and spilling your own drink. No dress code so it looks all over the place. Ladies, if you kinda need to go pee just go! The line is crazy because there’s only two stalls!!! Whose great idea was it to build TWOSTALLS??? I had such a great night last night though! Came at 10pm and there was no wait. The securities were polite there, followed the rules but were polite about it.

This place is fun only if YOU and your friends make it fun. There is no cover and the bouncers are pretty damn nice lol. There are two floors: 1st floor, where you dance to EDM and drink. Yeah, yeah, typical right? Well the 2nd floor you’ll find people capping on other people on the 1st floor dance«retardedly» to EDM hahahaha(as if they can do better…) Or as my friend also describes it, «You’ll find the older men find their next prey to bounce on that P****.» LOL. Yes, drinks are expensive, just like any other club out there. So yes, come slightly or should I say fully wasted by the time you get there. Secondly, keep an eye on your drink! I put mine down for about 5 seconds to grind but nooo, someone already swooped it up. I don’t know, my friends and I had fun. No complaints from the numerous times we’ve been there.

I’ve only been here on Sunday afternoons for live reggae on the patio. It is a great outdoor environment to enjoy live music, have a few drinks with friends, and enjoy some tasty bar food. Everyone has been friendly that I have encountered at the Spot from the staff to the patrons. I can’t speak for other nights but Sunday Afternoons with live Reggae on the Patio makes the Spot in downtown Campbell a great place. Happy, mellow, fun, and satisfying.

If I could give negative reviews I would. Not only was I sexually assaulted by the bouncer, he tried to kick me out when I wanted to talk to a manager about his behavior. Granted I was wrong for using the men’s restroom, but that’s never a reason to grab a woman by her chest and literally toss her out. My friend who drove was sober and told the bouncer to calm down and he WENTIN on her! Telling her to back up and not touch him when all she did was say please relax. I will never come back here again and have already filed a claim of sexual assault. The manager was really nice and understanding and tried his best to accommodate my concern. When I asked the bouncers name he wouldn’t give it to me. He knew he was wrong so f*** him. I will tell everyone to stay away from here in the future.

This place is fun if you are fun. The drinks are kind of expensive and the guys can be a little douchey so bring your friends. The dj last night was pretty good! No cover! That’s the best. There are always pretty girls that want to dance. I took a star off because they don’t allow smoking out back anymore… whaaaat? It’s outside. Why not?

AVOIDAVOIDAVOID Bad music, no dress code, horrible drinks, and THEYWILLSTEALYOURMONEY!!! I came here last weekend after not visiting The Spot for almost two years. This place used to be an ok place to have a fun night. I’m from San Jose and when I wanted a more relaxed scene, The Spot worked fine. Firstly, do not be fooled by the amount of people outside of this club, in no way does this mean the inside is a party. There is no cover charge but still not worth it. They let absolutely everyone in. NODRESSCODE! There were girls in gym clothes and flip flops with their hair up like they literally decided to grab a post workout drink. There were a lot of guys in big hoodies with baseball caps and baggy jeans. This just does not seem safe, there is a reason why clubs have a dress code. Not to mention it really brings down the look of the place when you have ghetto or gross people in your club. The music sucked. I’m all for a mix of styles and beats but this was not even danceable. However, this did not stop people from dancing very very badly on the dance floor. There was a lot of people bumping into each other and spilling drinks. One plus was I did see at least two girls get escorted out by security for being too drunk. Unfortunately one girl who nearly knocked me over then attempted to kiss me did not get escorted out. :| Honestly, I wouldn’t of even felt as disgusted with this place had it not been for the fact that the BARTENDERSLITERALLYSTOLE from me and my friends. The drinks were soooo disgusting. They were way too sweet, I’m guessing their attempt to cover up the fact that they under pour their alcohol. Myself and one of my friends got stomach aches after just one drink. Finally we decided to just stick with shots. The prices were a little expensive but not unheard of. The next day my friend noticed that she had charges on her credit card that were wrong. I checked my own and found the same. The bartenders were ADDINGMONEY onto our charges!!! First of all they are lucky we tipped at all for their nasty drinks, but they added $ 3 on for every drink we ordered! I have NEVER had this done to me. I’ve attempted to contact The Spot and have gotten no where. AVOIDATALLCOSTSORATLEASTDONOTGIVETHEMYOURCREDITCARDS!!!

Checked out the place on a Friday night. No cover whoo. Too much EDM(I prefer hip hop). Spent the night watching people trying to navigate through a sea of drunkards and staring at super drunk people trying to dance to EDM. The patio is nice and calm, but I would rather pay to get in somewhere with better music and/or crowd.

Don’t ever bring your girlfriend, wife, or significant other here. This place is pretty shady and there is a lot of trash here. I have come here for events before but recently it has attracted a certain crowd from outside Campbell that is not as acceptable as other places. The staff is nice, they are very strict because of the people that come here now. I hope they improve but the place is a breeding ground for the lowest common denominator.

Chill ‘spot’, good music and ppl… the vibe is amazing, I tell everybody to forget downtown San Jose and party at ‘the spot’. BUT the only problem is the stupid ass BOUNCERS, i walked out to smoke a cigarette and was trying to walk back in at 1:20am, guess what these fools told me, you guessed it ’ we’re closed’… so I’m standing here while my friends are inside partying… Oh wait, I turn around and they’re letting all these girls in… double standard much? They then call me to go in but fuck no while should I go in, I’d rather stay out here and write a of review the place that I use to call my favorite ‘spot’. If management is not on point any joint that joint is wack– get your shit together

A-ok…this place used to be a lot better back in the day. Now its just becoming a stink hole. The ladies restroom is always nasty and dirty. The drinks are OK, nothing to brag about, and 2 tables for bottle service? Cmon now… this is campbell and that’s all you can afford? The patio area is a decent size with a bar area and a place to order food. If you ask me, this is just another«stomping» ground if you’re bar hopping in Campbell.

One of the few spots to go to in Campbell. I’ve had some interesting turn of events every time I’ve been in this place. Let’s just say it always ends up as a crazy night. I love the outdoor area strung with lights and the indoor balcony is so spacious. The music is ok and varies.

Ran into this place purely by accident. We were wandering around after lunch and heard some music. Apparently they do a Reggae Sunday. The inside looks like a typical dark sports bar. However they have a decently nice outside area patio which is actually bigger than the bar itself. Small band playing some tunes, a smallish crowd. Not a bad way to spend a lazy afternoon

The Spot has to be the most socially acceptable place to get ratchet and wild because everyone is doing it. There’s a huge line out the door that resembles the DMV. And if you’re like me, waiting in line with a full bladder, get ready for some more bad news. This entire venue has only two stalls for each bathroom. Even the men’s line was longer at some points throughout the night. There’s far too many people in here that it should be a fire hazard. Dancing is no fun because everyone is smashed against you. Drinking is no fun because there’s 20 people around you shaking it so hard, they shake the drink right out of you. No one here can dance – which is great, because nobody cares. The porch area is large and open – a nice retreat from the banging music inside. That was probably my favorite part of the venue. Everyone in this area was mingling and having a good time. The staff is also super friendly. Even the DJ playing the set that night looked so happy when I told him that his set was fantastic.
