This sushi place in busy but not too busy. hich is how i like my sushi places(fish isnt just sitting there) The ambiance is great. Nice décor and the lighting is perfect. Makes for a great date spot. The host suggested the salmon belly nigiri which was amazing. For my main dish i got the tiger roll. You can reall taste the difference between freah fish and frozen ish, theirs is fresh

Two stars but minus one because this pLace doesn’t seem very cLean. TabLes weren’t cLeaned very weLL and the menus were sticky and gross. Came here because our first option was too busy and we didn’t feeL Like waiting around. Unilocal took us to this pLace and to be honest, this is one of the rare times that Unilocal didnt come through… Not the best customer service(it was borderLine RUDE –coming from the Asian chick working that evening). Sushi was okay but everything seemed to be smoothered in a white sauce that resembLed watery mayo? ALthough the sushi roLLs were good, they were jam packed with cream cheese and other cheap fiLLers– meh. NeedLess to say we got pretty fuLL + Quite sick of the creamy sushi taste FAST! Not LikeLy to come back– nice try but not thanks.

All you can eat sushi and service here is excellent! They don’t use excessive amounts of rice and fish is very fresh. I’ve tried several other sushi places and this one has to be my number one. I think that this place is the only one that has desserts on the AYCE menu which is awesome!

So I went with a group that ordered a variety of food including a couple all you can eat. I have to say I am not impressed. I didn’t think it was possible to screw up edamame but I am ashamed to report it is possible and they managed it. The service was fairy slow(the place wasn’t packed) and it really fits, «meh, I’ve experienced better». The AYCE seemed to be a decent value(though they restrict a couple items… thus invalidating part of the whole point of AYCE) and that saves this place from being a total bust.

Been coming here since it was called«sushi zone» and honestly it just keeps going downhill. A new server named Myo needs so much improvement, he constantly was making suggestions on my order when I knew what I wanted before coming in, and I’m all for suggestions but his were a bit unwanted and I thought I was being clear. Answers rudely and doesn’t listen to the customer. Didn’t check on how it was or for refills on water, and came back and forth because he would forget one thing I asked for many times so I could leave. The old workers were great, but now not so much. Won’t be coming here as much anymore.

So Sad!!! If you been there before and you didn’t notice, there are different chefs and the quality of Sashimi and food has gone down hill. I truly miss the old OMG, but after today’s visit and seeing them serve raw fish that smelled and had the texture of old left over fish, I am warning you to never go here. I ate one piece of fish and it immediately made me feel dizzy and sick. We walked out with others who realized the same quality. See the attached photo of the warm slimy Chariasi Bowl. Rolls were loaded with rice to hide the fish. Stay away.

So so but has issues with cleanliness and organization. This place is a cool part of Campbell but it’s just not on the repeat sushi bar list considering the local competition. Sushi has all you can eat option. price point is good but sushi super average and service is decent. I heard that lately it has gotten more generic and less attractive.

I’ve eaten here 3 times, twice under different name and management but nothing has changed. I always feel sick after eating here. They load you up with salty crab and rice to fill you up. This last time I ate mostly Nigiri thinking It was the deep fried and oily rolls making me feel awful but the fish was no better. None of the fish was fresh. Nothing stood out. The worst sushi I’ve eaten in my opinion. Will never return. Service is okay but no one was In here besides myself and one other table. Save your money.

I got the Chicken Terryaki instead of the all you can eat this time. I’m super picky when it comes to my terryaki sauce. This sauce was on point. The salad dressing was really good too. I was very impressed with my dinner. My girlfriend got the combination sashimi platter. She is quite the conissuer of fresh fish. She said it was so fresh she thought it was swimming in the back. The staff was very nice and asked us within minutes of our plates hitting the table if everything tasted good and if we needed anything. The second our plates were empty they were being picked up. I really enjoyed every aspect of tonight’s dinner. Thank you!

Today was my 2nd visit. Been dreaming of the salmon belly & yes it was every bit as good as I remember it. It is heaven on your tongue. I don’t know any other places(esp. AYCE) in the area that offer this cut. What a find! AYCE is a great value. On Sundays it’s dinner price all day($ 27 as opposed to $ 23 lunch other days). I got 9 orders of nigiri plus house salad. After tax & gratuity you’re looking at $ 4 per order of nigiri! Quality sushi at this price cannot be beat! Also you get to select exclusive items on the dinner menu at 1 p.m.(Such as amaebi, uni, certain dessert items…) If you’re into fancy rolls they’ve got plenty of varieties as well. Most of the nigiri was surprisingly delicious. Even standards like hamachi & white tuna were very nice. I tried the Cajun albacore and that was good too. It was fusion done right. Seared salmon & seared ono jalapeño also surprisingly good. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Obviously too cooked wouldn’t be ideal — you still want to taste that sushi grade fish and experience that texture. The light searing made it interesting and tantalizing — was just the right touch. The sweet ponzu sauce hit a blissful balance. Spicy tuna & tobiko were on par. I would pass the maguro. It was the least outstanding of the bunch. They don’t rush you and don’t stuff you with rice. The AYCE system is easy — dry erase markers on their laminated menu, 5 rounds, 1 column per round & you fill out 1 round at a time. I paced myself and was perfectly satisfied by round 4. You can’t go wrong! A la carte menu looks intriguing as well. They have an orgasm sauce! Service with a smile, efficient and attentive. If you’re hungry you need not worry about your food taking a while. They are quick to check on you and quick to serve. No long lines, chill ambiance, easy parking. My kind of place!

Service is terrible. They are slow to bring you AYCE orders. Sushi variety is good and quality is good enough. Don’t order Korean beef or teri chicken, terrible. Chicken karaage is decent and dipping sauce good. Mochi ice cream($ 2/one) tastes like the one in the black box from the store. It’s good but overpriced IMO. I think if you are reeeeally hungry, not picky and only eat sushi, it’s a great deal to do AYCE.

I tried their AYCE one of the weekday’s evening. The place is pretty packed around 7pm, I suggest you come after 8pm because we were one out of 2 tables by 8pm. Anyhow, we opted in for AYCE. I was excited at first because their fish seems pretty fresh and the AYCE menu is huge, lots of choices. I quickly learned I was wrong. Even though the menu is vast, it doesn’t mean all the items are good. We tried a few fried things and they were alright. Not all the fish were fresh. Salmon is the best out of all the fish. We tried seared salmon, regular salmon, salmon belly, all very impressive. But that’s about it, all other fishes aren’t as good as the salmon. The hamachi looks and tasted old, the scallop was cooked, not raw, the tuna was mushy, the eel was overcooked, Uni was alright, the amaebi was not fresh, we could easily tell from the taste and texture. Their sashimi salad was cut up mushy fishes with lots of sauce over some salads. Sorry but for $ 28 bucks per person I would expect much better quality than this.

The food is okay. The service is not up to par. It’s very uncomfortable when you’re trying to eat and the waiters are watching like Hawks. Also, I did not like that our waiter followed us outside to simply ask for a tip. I don’t mind the asking part but how he went about doing it.

The food is passable and consistent with the past but the service now sucks. I was here for AYCE at 3pm on a Monday afternoon. It was not busy at all but for some reason it took the servers two hours to give us two rounds of food, and the rolls came out one by one at a snails pace. We had only four people. It was kind of sad — we watched people come, finish their food, and leave before our last roll arrived. Sheesh. I’m writing this as I wait for them to give me my bill… I came here last year and the service was much better. Food is fine — sashimi isn’t super fresh but the rolls and appetizers are tasty. However it’s not worth the idle time between bites of sushi. Lunch was $ 23/adult and I probably won’t come again for AYCE lunch.

I remember this place as Kenzo sushi. Seems like the name has changed, but mostly everything is still the same. The rolls differ a bit, with their own special sauces, but unless you’re a regular you probably won’t remember your favorite roll. The AYCE sushi here was not bad. Some of the rolls didn’t taste so great though without the sauce(and I usually prefer less sauce). One of the nice things here is that appetizers are included in the AYCE. And you now also get dessert too! Dinner AYCE is priced at $ 27 when I went. Not too bad, but the quality doesn’t seem like what it was when it was Kenzo.

Great variety and quality of sushi. Our waitress was very nice and provided excellent service. The food came out really fast. We ordered the sashimi salads, poke salad, a bunch of nigiri, calamari and shrimp tempura, and salmon roll. My only suggestion to the restaurant is if they used 25% less rice in the nigiri, the fish to rice ratio would be perfect. But overall, great value for the price. Ayce lunch was $ 22.95

Horrible! Horrible! I went to this sushi restaurant for the first time today. We decided to get the«All you can eat sushi» for $ 22.95 per person. I ordered the«Kiss of Fire Roll» it was distasteful, so I ordered another roll, since my first roll was gross. My daughter ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box, and unfortunately the quality of the chicken was very poor, and tasted like rubber. I only ate one roll total, and figured I can take the other roll home I did not like, since I have to pay for it and I will just give it to my family member, so it doesn’t go to waste. We were told we could not take our sushi home because it’s «against policy.» I was shocked since we had to pay $ 22.95 a person for all you can eat, and I only ate one roll! I told the employee it was wrong, the first roll I ordered was not good and I only ate one roll and you want to charge me 22.95 plus for one item and I can’t take home my other roll?! It was my first visit there and my last. I highly suggest to try another restaurant, so you do not get taken advantage of and pay for low quality food.

Randomly ran into this place while finding a short cut home. AYCE sushi? Sure, why not? After experiencing the fiasco at Kenzo Japanese Restaurant(see my review there), I’ve been looking for something to erase such terrible events from my memories. OMG indeed. Keep in mind, it was a Tuesday night, so I’m not sure what its like during prime nights(Fri/Sat), but they did say wait times during those nights are 15 – 20 minutes. We sat down in a quiet restaurant that somewhat resembles a café. According to the staff, this spot was a couple other sushi places in the past, including the second location for Kenzo. Not a bad spot — it’s in the corner of a well-lit shopping center as well. The menu is broken down into five rounds of sushi ordering. Mark down whatever is desired from the AYCE menu in the amount desired using a dry-erase marker and make the order. Blue shrimp and Uni are available, but only 1 order per person. The uni was fresh when I had mine — it tasted fresh and buttery, which was a nice surprise. After five rounds, its over, but honestly I think five rounds is more than enough. If you need five rounds of spicy tuna rolls, order five initially then stack more later. ;-) The rolls and nigiri weren’t stuffed with rice filler either. I was really happy to see this. I asked the staff about the threshold for leftovers/penatly fees. He replied«within reason,» which sounded good. He then replied«this is an ayce sushi place. not an ayce sashimi place :)» I knew this slogan was something he probably had to message out every night. I laughed, but was at ease that I wasn’t gonna get charged for not eating a nigiri or two. There was also a craft Japanese beer called«Kawaba» that tasted pretty good. The experience there was definitely good. Perhaps it was due to the horrible Kenzo experience that really made this place shine. Honestly, the sushi tasted pretty fresh — it didn’t taste old. It wasn’t filled with rice, and the service was very welcoming and attentive. What more could you want from an AYCE sushi place? Also, if you can’t eat fish, there are some options on the AYCE menu like yakitori, karage and someting called monkey brain. I didn’t bother to ask what monkey brain was. We did end the dinner with a hand roll and several end-pieces of rolls leftover from the feast, but the staff was cool with it. No charge! Awesome. Yes, this place gets my recommendation. Yes, I’ll be back. Yes, I’ll be making the efforts to bringing my friends here.

The OMG orgasm roll tasted like it was smothered in ranch dressing and the deep fried California roll was burnt to a crisp and stuck to my teeth. Service was slow after they brought out the first round and the employees seemed unhappy. We ended up leaving because of an issue with the food. Overall, not really worth it. I’d rather wait for TGI or Furo Sato to open up for dinner than go to this place again. It’s pretty much the same price but for far lower quality sushi. Two stars for the Green Monster roll, it was delicious!

There have been many sushi places opening around the San Jose, but I was pleased that this location, along with a few other locations, offered an all-you-can-eat lunch and dinner for a reasonable price. For as long as I could remember, if I wanted to go to all you can eat sushi place, I would go to Tomi, which is located in Eastridge Mall across from the Red Robins. I saw this place just recently opened back in July, and a few of my friends had to gone to the place and were highly satisfied. So, on a weekday, during lunch, I decided to try this with a good friend of mine. Of course, being a new establishment, it was pretty empty, and I was amazed by the choices that you choose from. The price of all you can eat lunch started around $ 17.95 and was towards ANYTHING on the menu. The only restriction was from three unique rolls, which they only serve during dinner. You were unlimited to appetizers, hand and baked rolls, dessert, and everything in between. The quality was good too. Nothing tasted frozen or thawed out. Everything was made to order in generous portions. Just a down sized was the location. It was a drive from the Eastside of San Jose and it’s located in a very busy intersection. However, people should be encouraged to try this place.

I was skeptical about OMG sushi, due to mediocre Unilocal reviews and the recent going out of business of Yatai in the same location. However, they have a 50% off birthday deal that doesn’t require you to be with another paying adult(cue sad violin music), and that comes out to $ 13.95 for all you can eat sushi– Not a bad deal! However, this is a solid all you can eat place. The nigiri was actually really good! fish tasted fresh, cut with some skill, and displayed aesthetically. I’ve had better rolls, but they still were not bad by any means. They did not try and fill you up on miso, take too long between orders, or other deceptive tactics AYCE sushi places sometimes enact. what you have here is a friendly, tasty, convenient sushi place that has a great birthday deal. Will recommend!

OMG, this place is still great! OMG Sushi used to be called Kenzo’s and then Yatai, or the other way around? I don’t know, but this is the 3rd name change so far? Fortunately, the place is still basically the same IMHO. They still have the shrimp balls(which I had today for lunch/dinner), and they are still really delicious! They also still have the Monkey Brains(the fried avocado with spicy tuna and something else that I can’t recall, crab maybe?) Anyways, since this place was always good in the past, I ignored all of the negative reviews. I also ordered the Spiderman roll I think it was with avocado, cucumber, shrimp tempura, and crab in it. The prices are about the same as they used to be it looks like. That was also amazing and fresh tasting as well! And about the Unilocalers complaining about the small portions and 20% price increase, WTH are you talking about? The prices still look the same to me. They still have the ACYE sushi for both lunch and dinner. Lunch goes on until 3p. m I think and it’s around $ 23.00 I think. Dinner cost a little more. You can order up to four or five rounds of stuff on their huge ACYE menu, but you have to finish what you order, or end up paying for what you don’t eat. There is no take out available on the ACYE sushi either. They also have a few lunch specials for dine in only now, but I think it might be for M-F only. One of them is for any three hand rolls plus miso soup and a salad for $ 9 – 10. Another one also includes the soup and salad and any two rolls I think for around that price. The place has great a/c which is a relief on hot days like today! The staff didn’t notice me for a few minutes, so I had to get their attention. If it weren’t for that, they would’ve gotten a five star rating from me. I’ll definitely be going back there soon with some friends or maybe even by myself(after starving all day of course) for the ACYE sushi!

I’ve been coming to this place for the past seven or so years. They have been under a lot of different management and ownership. Once they became OMG Sushi, we were very disappointed. They increased prices while quality of fish went down. Doesn’t seem right, does it? But yesterday I decided to give them another try. It was great to see all familiar staff and service here has been great. The menu have changed, and it looks like, for better. I wanted something light and without rice, so I ordered OMG seared tuna salad with orgasmic sauce. And let me tell you, it was very close to orgasmic. I will definately be back for more.

Did not disappoint one bit! I had the AYCE Omakase(Japanese for chef’s recommendation) and the guy just kept throwing one amazing delicious piece of art after another. Tasted fresh and the service was great as well. Unlike so many other places I’ve been to, there is wayyyyy more fish to rice ratio on the sushi, meaning they are not out to make a quick buck by filling you up with a bunch of rice. You will get your money’s worth and much more. I can’t wait to come back here!

Went to OMG Sushi on a Monday night 8:00PM This place is called OMG Sushi because OHMYGOD, this place was terrible. We were excited to try the All You Can Eat(AYCE), as the huge banner on the front of the restaurant says 50% off AYCE on Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately we read the sign wrong(sizing of the fonts were definitely misleading). What the sign actually says is «50% off when it’s your birthday» and something about the Sake on Monday and Tuesday. I ordered the Rainbow Roll and my boyfriend ordered the Bento Box with short ribs, salmon rolls, and gyoza. The Rainbow Roll was OK. Like other reviewers have said, it is very BLAND rice. The Bento Box came with a small salad DRENCHED in salad dressing, and a miso soup. The short ribs tasted like burnt sugar on meat. The edamame was dry with heaps of salt, it looked like it has been sitting out all weekend. OMG the gyoza. The gyoza was the worst gyoza we have ever tasted. It tasted like old ground up frozen white castle hamburger meat, but worse than white castle. Everything on the menu is overpriced. And from the small sample size at best, mediocre. Also, beware of the AYCEPOLICY, which states that: *All You Can Eat food may NOTSHAREWITHNONALLYOUCANEATCUSTOMER(INCLUDINGKIDS) *Left over foods will be charge as A LACARTEPRICE(INCLUDINGRICE) *Left over AYCE Foods can’t be taken to go(standard policy)

OMG Sushi, formerly known as ‘Yatai’ & once ‘Kenzo’, has always been one of my go-to places for sushi. I’m not sure why it took me so long to write a review, but now with the major changes & improvements, I feel compelled to review this restaurant & give it the credit it deserves. Everytime I come here, I do the ‘All You Can Eat’ lunch/dinner. Dinner — $ 26.95 Lunch — $ 22.95 For these prices, you get A LOT of BANGFORYOURBUCK. There are up to 5 rounds in which each round you can order as much food you’d like(you just have to be sure to finish it). The menu consists of a wide variety of food: Appetizers, Handrolls, Specialty Rolls, Nigiri, Sashimi and NOW, Dessert! :) My favorite items include: Garlic Edamame *Also NEW*, Udon, Mango Roll, Ika & albacore nigiri and the Octopus Kara-age. I haven’t tried much of their nigiri/sashimi so I can’t speak on how fresh their fish may be, but from what I have tried, tastes good to me! They’ve also replaced their old ‘sticky’ tables with dark cherry wood tables(feels/looks so much cleaner) and the service also seems a lot better with the waitstaff being a lot more attentive than they used to be. I’ll be back again, soon!

OMG Sushi From what was told, change in management(name) happened about a month ago. I’ve never been here before, so being my first visit… I have to say it was outstanding. Service was a 10 Food was a 10 Cleanliness was probably a 6 – 7 *it was a bit cluttered towards the back of the restaurant but this won’t stop me from coming back. What I ordered: *Hawaiian Poke Salad on top of sushi rice* It wasn’t on the menu but they were gladly able to make it for me which was really cool. It’s cost about $ 15 but the portion was enough to fill me up. Taste… Amazing. Probably the closest this to Poke from Foodland in Hawaii. Super fresh. I highly recommend it. Overall. I’m not sure how this place was before the name change but I’d definitely put this place in my top 5.
