THIS IS NO LONGER UNIQUE PIZZA!!! I actually thought that their pies were fairly good for a a national chain, particularly due to a buttermilk dough crust and a tasty five cheese blend.
Apparently, though, whoever owned the franchise severed their ties with Unique Pizza and stayed in business under a different name. Last time I tried their pizza, I could tell that they weren’t using the five cheese blend anymore and the pizza had lost most of its appeal for me.

The pizza is expensive and not particularly good. It’s called «unique,» but it’s actually a chain mostly located in rural/suburban Pennsylvania, of all places, and the pizza and the parlor look, smell and taste like you would expect pizza to taste in rural/suburban Pennsylvania. Go to Pinnochio’s off JFK street instead for cheaper and higher quality pizza.

I’ve only been there once, but I’m not really a fan. This used to be «Tommy’s Pizza» and there used to be a real debate before about whether Pinocchio’s (a few blocks away) or Tommy’s served the better slice, but now that argument is moot. I’ll probably give it another chance some drunken night, but I won’t be really be sad if I don’t end up going there again.

Not as good as Pinnochio’s a couple of blocks away. Also, the price is not right. If you want a slice of cheese it’s about $ 2.60, and a slice with a topping is $ 3+. That’s high for Harvard Square, considering what good pizza there is just a couple of blocks away. If they lowered their prices, maybe it would be OK.

Yet another «non-pizza» pizza chain is introduced to the Boston-area.
I can’t say that the pizza is bad — it’s not — it’s just not pizza… in the same way that Dominos and Pizza Hut aren’t pizza. It’s bread with cheese.
That said: It’s free delivery, the menu is extensive, and the pizzas are ginormous. It’s also open as late as 3:00am at «Select Locations».
Not sure what that means as this is the only location I know of; but whatever — it has more options than Dominos.
