We came for lunch. The restaurant was not busy but we waited about 20 minutes for our meal. And when it arrived the meal was cold. Obviously something went wrong in the kitchen or with our server. The Rockfish sandwich was a nice piece of fish — but cold. The other dish — crab and cheese on bread — was too oily and strong garlic. Beer was great!

Great service and friendly local atmosphere. The Rockfish Bites are fantastic. My husband and I both got burgers and I think the kitchen forgot to tell our server the food was up. When he brought it, my burger was just warm. I ordered the Crabby Burger and couldn’t find any crab on it, and I think that was over $ 10. It was imperial sauce and melted cheese basically. Disappointing. That said We loved our server and had a nice time. I’d go again and give them another chance but would order a different entrée.

If you’re used to New England seafood, you’ll be appalled by what they do to it here. After waiting 45 minutes for the food to come out, it was disgusting. Who fries scallops and then serves them in a dish full of melted butter? Fried scallops are meant to be served with fries, lemon, and tartar sauce, not floating in butter with green beans(also floating in butter) and an ear of white corn. I had a blackened tuna(at least that’s what it said) sandwich, which was incredibly bland. Just a chunk of tuna(?) on a roll. No fixings, just bread. All of this to spend $ 75 for three of us to eat. On a side note, my 6 year old daughter loved her cheeseburger.

Very disappointed. One of the worst crab cakes(all mayo & filler). The Md crab soup was lots of broth with very little veggies or crab. Won’t go back.

Crab Balls could be better. pieces of shells inside. Also ordered Dark and Stormy and waitress put Jack Daniels instead of rum but swore it was Myers Dark Rum. It wasn’t!

Currently down for a few day getaway at the Hyatt Chesapeake we had stopped here for lunch on our way into town. It was great! Delicious food, great local microbrew beer and the kids could feed the ducks off the dock. That night we had dinner at the Hyatt and the next night we returned to Portside! Best crab dip around, and we are from outside of Baltimore, and delicious fish tacos. Great food, reasonably priced and nice casual relaxed atmosphere on the water.

We came for lunch and the waitress(Billie) was great. The food and atmosphere were a plus. The crab balls were excellent, the fried pickles were okay. The waitress gave us free samples of the local beer(RDR) which were outstanding and prompted us to visit the brewery! We will definitely return in the future when in the area!

This place was just ok. It has your typical bar food and seafood. The rockfish bites were yummy. The fish(fish/chips) was disappointing. The batter and flavor needs improvement. The outside deck is nice over looking the water.

I really enjoyed the food and service here. I had a Cobb salad with homemade blue cheese dressing, fresh lettuce, and bacon actually cooked here– not hard pieces you find with processed crap. I couldn’t make up my mind, just knew I wanted seafood. So, I got the port side sampler as my meal– crab balls, crab stuffed potato skins, crab dip served with soft pretzels to dip. Fantastic and fresh crab! Mandi was my server/bartender and made me feel at home as I dined alone. Id recommend this place if traveling, like me, or the local. Id bring my family here too, the place is clean and friendly. Two thumbs up!

I only gave this restaurant 1 star for the view. We have been coming here for over 6 years now and they used to have the best food. We dock our boat in the Marina and last year we kept it on land. Which means that we haven’t been to Portside for almost a year until recently. We came the first time a few weeks ago and were in shock of the horrible menu that has gone downhill, they’ve crossed out almost everything that they used to serve and the food was horrible. We tried to give it one more chance and come a different day and it was cruelly even worse if that’s possible! We now go to the High Spot and Jimmy Sooks. We have never been let down with the food or service at these restaurants. We recommend them instead of the Portside. Do not go to Portside! We warned you! The locals that we’ve talked to said that the Portside ended up going down hill fast about a year and a half ago. They said that they don’t even speak of the Portside anymore. Between the dirtiness of the place, every booth has ripped seats and there have been a lot of problems with food sickness from there that they all stay clear of the place and feel sorry for outsiders who don’t know how bad it truly is now and are always tempted by the view. Stay clear of this place!!!

Very dissatisfied with this place. Appetizers came after one hour and main dishes never did after 90 minutes. waitress and management could not offer explanation or time when food would appear. some issue about the computer not working and the kitchen being downstairs. Who knows? Others who arrived later got food. Anyway, we left looking for another place to eat.

The view is great… but that’s all. We have been here twice in recent weeks on a wed, and now a mon. Food was cold, baked potato rotten, and the prime rib sandwich was served on a burger roll so when it got to us it was a soggy mess. Disappointing because the location is awesome

Service was very slow. All though the waiter was very nice, there were just too few servers. Okay food but pretty heavy and most things were deep fried. Very nice view and outdoor seating. I classify it more as a seafood pub than a seafood restaurant.

I must say I’m disappointed in my fellow Unilocalers. This place a step below Snappers and that’s not saying much. Maybe these places kick it up a notch a few weeks from now. I left Snappers because it seemed way too local yocal and although the Happy Hour beer prices were unbeatable by NJ standards, they had no food specials. So here I am 15 minutes later at Portside and my HH special still not out. But the locals got theirs! I’m going to wait to see if I gets mine before I finish my beer. If no shrimps, I’m off to the High Spot(?) gastro pub that seems to be a sure thing. This joint is super local and for this Yankee so Southern!!! Ya’ll will like this place. Did I say that right?

Delicious food! Great atmosphere. What could be better than sitting on a deck overlooking the water, eating Maryland crab cakes! Very friendly staff.

Rockfish bites, crab imperial, and crab bites were all excellent. Good kids menu and great space for dining out on the deck overlooking the river. Great service as well. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

We were passing through town and found this gem! We called ahead and they welcomed our dog to sit with us on the upper deck outside. The service was exceptional… just the type of casual waterfront atmosphere you want on a Saturday with good friends and a beer. We had the crab skins, rockfish basket, and crab imperial sandwich. Everything was fried to perfection, had great seasoning and came with the housemade ranch… best I’ve ever had! Rockfish was fresh and the imperial was tasty… only thing was the cheese was Kraft singles, so cheese snobs might wrinkle their noses. We’ll be going back!

We end up here a few times every time we are in town for a race. What’s better than a French dip with a cold Miller Light after a triathlon? Not much really. The menu is a good selection of American classics and some seafood including crabcakes. The service is quick, and the ambiance is nice. The restaurant is right on the river with a great view and relaxed atmosphere.

Go for the crab skins and blackened tuna sandwich. The crab balls are also pretty good. It used be a better happy hour place when the bar was bigger, but it’s still a lively crowd.
