My wife and I eat here every week. Our usual is a Greek salad and pizza but the pasta dishes are also pretty yummy. Calzones and Stromboli are very good and too big for one person. The wraps are a good deal with fries included. I can’t speak about the subs as we usually don’t order them. They’ve been here since 2012 and draw a large local crowd. Friday and Saturday evenings are very busy.

We were steered to Carmela’s by a local while standing in front of another restaurant. Their exterior does not do this place justice. Boy were we glad we went inside. Charlie is born Italian and Carmela is a though n through Brooklyn Italian… she’s a wonderful chef. It’s Carmela’s SAUCES that make the dishes. This is American Italian cuisine. Here’s the DL. + Wide range of selection(NY pizza, pasta, entrees, sandwiches, appetizers) + Welcoming owners & staff + Home style cooking + Reasonable prices + Very accommodating to special requests + Cannoli We had pasta and I requested scampi with sauce substituted with arrabbiata. Carmela accommodated and it was exactly what I was craving for. My sister had garlic oil sauce and that was yummy. We don’t typically eat pasta for dinner and this was definitely worth working out for. They came with side salads and bread & marinara sauce. I inhaled the sauce — it’s addictive. We didn’t have any room for dessert but Charlie generously packed us a cannoli to go — we ate it back at the hotel and OMG — so so good! Carmela’s is run by kind folks with big hearts. A pleasant and unexpected surprise to find an authentic NY Italian restaurant in Cambridge. P. S. There aren’t pictures of pasta b/c we ate it all before pictures — it’s that good

The pizza here is good. That being said the Italian cold cut is one of, if not the worst I have ever had. The roll is mealy with semolina on the outside and half stale. I have ordered 3 of these on 3 different occasions and it’s been the same every time. Also their menu prices don’t add up to what you end up paying with tax included I was charged 15 to 20 percent more all three times.

The food was amazing! It was a very small place, down to earth, great pricing and the food is so authentic. The place looked more like a pizza delivery place than an actually sit down diner but the food makes up for everything. Would go back.

Great pizza, great people. Sometimes when it’s really hot it’s a bit stuffy inside. Not gourmet, but never disappoints. The food is always fresh and the service is good. Plus the prices are very reasonable. Real Italians making real Italian food, you can’t go wrong here.

Very good pizza, son raved about his chicken tenders. We got take-out — and the pizza was ice cold 10 minutes after I picked it up, which made me sad, since I was the one who ordered pizza. Would have prefered a personal pizza option — their smallest is 14″ which is easily enough for 3 – 4 people. Threw away half because we were in a hotel and couldn’t reheat. But given the choices in Cambridge, we would give this a try again — and maybe buy by the slice!

Went here after waiting over an hour for food at Don Chuys across the street. The pizza took less than 5 minutes and tasted amazing. We’ll be coming here more often.

The Owner sings along with Sinatra and the food is above average for an Italian Restaurant. Anyone who knows genuine Italian cuisine also knows that the expense of cooking like MamaMia is price prohibitive. Making homemade gravy(amateurs call it sauce) is a labor of love and very time consuming. For the money, you can’t beat Carmela’s Cucina. I can only imagine how good the food is at their home. Pizza? In order to critique a NY Style Pizza one must have experienced NYC extensively. The man with the golden voice fixes a pretty good pie but I would have to give the edge to Carmines 35 miles up the road. If I could wave a magic wand and have one wish per Carmela’s it would be to relocate and expand. Lastly, you will get a good Italian Meal at CC’s. Bottom Line: Good Italian food at very reasonable prices. Go check it out!

Good prices and excellent, authentic food. I recently moved to the eastern shore from NY and I’m so happy to have found a good go-to pizza place. Nothing else in this area is comparable in my opinion for pizza. Mozzarella sticks were good as well. Looking forward to trying some of their other Italian dishes.

Best NY style pizza! Carmella’s is in a fantastic location now, within walking distance of downtown and the marina. Amazing pizza, Greek salads, stuffed pasta shells with to-die-for tomato sauce and garlic toasts. The inside is cute and quaint and of course they have lots of take out orders. The new space has a deck so hopefully they will have outdoor(dog friendly? :) dining now that’s it warmer. If you’re arriving into Cambridge by boat go past the marina and turn into Cambridge Creek. You can anchor in the basin or tie up for free at the long bulkhead before the drawbridge. Walk towards the drawbridge and Carmella’s is just at the right end of the bridge, on the other side of the street. Yum!!!
