Very nice convenience store with ample selection. The owner is very friendly.

Bad Customer service, can’t even reply to a hello ! If I don’t feel welcome, there are many others to buy from, I will never go there again

So I ordered some unhealthy snacks on Foodler(via MixMenu) from Harvard Market. My order was: 2 diet cokes, an Arizona half n half iced tea, an airhead, skittles, sour patch kids(original), Lays Munchies, and a Heath Bar. When I got the order delivered to me, I got: a Nature Valley Granola bar(instead of a Heath Bar), a box of strawberry gummies(instead of an Airhead), a strawberry flavored half n half Arizona iced tea, regular Lays potato chips, skittles, and 2 diet cokes. The order was so wrong I was laughing to myself. Out of the 7 things I ordered, only 2 were correct. I called Harvard Market to see if they could resend my order or refund me for the incorrect items. the woman I was speaking to seemed confused, and ended up telling me to call back MixMenu to sort things out instead. MixMenu refunded my order, making the Delivery guy come all the way back to give me my cash(he got an extra tip). I’m sure if I went here in person it’d be ok but I wouldn’t trust them with a takeout order ever again.

I hadn’t been in here for a few years, and it is much better than I remembered. They have sandwiches that are better than Darwin’s for less money. They use high quality bread now(which I don’t eat, because I can’t eat gluten, but they were fine with letting me get a bread-less reuben.) They have lots of great take away eats like a chick pea and cranberry salad, macaroni salad, etc. It’s the best place to get a cheap lunch in the area.

Only one person working in the entire place who takes ten minutes to make a single sandwich. I tried to use a Living Social on my phone but the woman wouldn’t even turn on the computer to scan it and pleaded the ignorance card. Horrible service and a waste of my time — will never return.

Horrific Customer Service! My 16 yo daughter ordered her usual boneless chicken sandwich, chips & a drink which I guess is the $ 5 «special» and after eating almost ½ of the sandwich, bit into what she thought was a bone and then also noticed a fruit fly in the sandwich. She immediately brought it back and instead of getting an apology, the owner proceeded to call her a LIAR and attempted to humiliate her in front of customers. She ended up getting her money back but he had the nerve to insist that she return the drink & chips because they were part of the«special». The worst part is that he never offered an apology but instead was very combative with the whole situation and went to the extreme of having security escort her out of the store and asked that she never return. I am beyond upset regarding this whole situation and am appalled at how the owner handled the situation especially when he was dealing with a young lady. Harvard Market … NOBUENO!

I’d pre-ordered a roast beef sub and salad. The roast beef was mushy and lacked any substance. I had to thow out the sandwich. The salad was also not good. This market is only not getting 1 star because the market is fine but I will not get food at Harvard Market again.

Yes for cheap/good/big sandwiches and salad. The place next door has the best sandwiches, but they cost more. Not the greatest prices for the items on the shelves. It is convenient so its hard to complain. Coffee’s good. Employees are nice too.

I went to Harvard Market for the first time today, I ordered a tuna wrap with lots of fillings such as lettuce, cucumbers, pepers, etc and it was really tasty. The store looks great, nice selection of many different items. I would go here again for sure.

Just moved to Cambridge and live within three blocks. Tried this place twice and received rude service both times. Prices are not that great and are more than other markets within the same distance. Will not be back unless I absolutely have to go. too bad too cuz it’s a great location.

**Harvard Market Evangelist** I cannot recommend Harvard Market highly enough. Seriously, I love this place. I’ve lived nearby for the last three years, and go there three to four times a week. They have the BESTSANDWICHES in Harvard Square, PERIOD. They are definitely better than at Darwin’s next door… the meat is better quality and they give you more of it, they heap on more vegetables… and if you get the Lunch Combo, they cost $ 5 with chips and a drink,(or yoghurt and a piece of fruit, etc), instead of $ 7-$ 8 for just the sandwich at Darwin’s. As a poor graduate student, I’ve been to every last place in the Square, and Harvard Market has the best food for less than $ 7. The owner of the place, Moe, really takes care of me… usually I just tell him to surprise me with any sandwich, and they are delicious every time. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

They derive their rating from me for the deli, breads, and interesting chocolates and sweets only… I stop here for sandwich fixings(cheese, turkey and ham) from the deli. They are reasonably priced and known brands. They also have good pre-made sanwiches and frozen food selections. I would not recommend stopping here for produce, even if you are desparate b/c it usually is compost-worthy only… oy…the stuff i have seen rotting and brown in here… Service has been slow a few times but if you are a tried and true cheap-o like me, you will wait until they get what you need.

This store has had numerous face lifts since I was going to Rindge, but the latest seems to have taken. I have had some surly service here, but I have always felt like that must just be karma cause I raised hell inside and out of that place on numerous occasions. The store is the cleanest I’ve ever seen it too. I was almost like a proud momma, seeing how far we’d both come and what we’ve made of ourselves!

As far as convenience stores go, this place is the Trump tower of convenience stores. I’ve always been an eetsy bit scared of walking in, due to the slightly sun-faded photos on the outside windows… But today I was walking to a friend’s house, and I was thirsty… And I needed bleach to kill the fruit flies that are in the kitchen drain. Wouldn’t you know it? I found BOTH at Harvard Market. The store was clean, fresh, and shiny, with slices of home made cake by the front. Also, their selection of Tic Tacs and other breath preservers is, well, let’s just say it’s a buffet of freshness. There were some sweet looking sandwiches and wraps right by the front door(in case you don’t want to wait in the lunch line at Darwins, I suppose). There were so many cold beverages lined up, I instantly felt hydrated and cooler JUSTBYLOOKINGATTHEM. Okay, I held the door to the fridge open for a while when I was making up my mind. The register lady didn’t seem to mind. She was busy on the phone, which she did set down when ringing up my purchases(A++ for customer service). Lovely. Oh, there’s a five dollar minimum on credit card purchases, but I didn’t have a problem with that, being I had a bottle of water, a bottle of bleach, and about 15 packs of tic tacs. At two calories a pop, I figure I can eat about 10 of those packs a day.

Decently sized convenience store near harvard on Cambridge St. Great selection of refridgerated beverages for those hot summer days. The store contains an ATM.
