I have to finally write a review for this wonderful store. All Erewhons are awesome by nature but this one is especially awesome. The staff are amazingly helpful and the selection is amazing. I always find everything I need and even some new things I didn’t know existed that I end up loving. I am so glad this store is part of my regular routine.

You feel healthier just by walking by all the juices and food. Everything is delicious and so fresh. Yes it is expensive, but some items are worth it and you can’t get them anywhere else that is nearby.

I can’t deny this is a wonderful organic grocery, and it is a treat living so close. But as others have mentioned, it’s crazy expensive. A little tip for you other Agoura Hills/Calabasa natives, Erewhon also makes the best brick oven pizza in the area. Order online, and it will be waiting for you.

I have been to the location in Venice and this was my first time here. This place is to die for! I got the roasted carrots, kombucha squash, and chicken wings. I also got the coconut dream smoothie-amazing! The prices are really really high but it is worth it.

Although some items can be a little on the spendy side, Erewhom truly is the best organic market in the area. They don’t have the butcher that Whole Foods has, but there are so many unique and interesting items! They also have fresh, delicious pre-made organic foods«to go» which makes Erewhon an easy choice for me when I don’t feel like cooking but don’t want to eat crap.

Crazy expensive. Ridiculously expensive. A bit nutty expensive. Did I mention it’s stupid expensive? If you can find the products at Sprouts or Whole Foods, definitely get it there. But… I still give this place 4 stars for their fresh food section and a few exclusive items. Here are the highlights: –Erewhon Organic Mighty Greens soup. A bit addictive. It’s super healthy but delicious. It’s a low sodium soup, which is great, but it could use just a little more oomph. So I add a bit of garlic and salt once I get it home. One of my fav soups(and I’m not a healthy soup person). –Organic cold pressed juices. They are fantastic. Kreation has long been my favorite juicery(on the westside and now in the valley) because their flavor combinations are the best. At least, that was what I thought until I had Erewhon. They give Kreation a run for their money on taste. And surprisingly, they are cheaper($ 9 but you have to bring back the glass bottle to get that price) and give more juice. –Rumiano cheese. My favorite farm for sharp cheddar cheese. When Sprouts runs out(which happens often because the cheese is so good there’s a higher demand than supply), I go to Erewhon. I’m paying a lot more at Erewhon for the exact same thing I’d usually get at Sprouts, but I can pretty much guarantee they’ll have it in stock. –Spinach and cheese pizza. Their pizza in the deli section is really tasty. Not as hot as I like it so I take it home and pop it in the oven for 5 minutes or so. –Café Gratitude desserts. I love the desserts from Café Gratitude in Venice. Especially, the banana bread(try it heated up in your oven — delish). So it’s nice that they actually serve their desserts in the bread/dessert section here. –Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener(with erythritol). The best tasting natural sugar alternative on the market(Stevia, in my opinion, is awful). Erewhon is the only store I’ve found that carries this type of sugar(and this particular brand of monkfruit sugar). Now, let me warn you, you’ll have to sell your first born just to buy a bag($ 40 for sugar…) but the good news is unless you’re a sweetaholic, this bag should last you a good while. If their price point wasn’t so astronomical, I’d shop there more regularly. But I do go once a week for at least one of the items above.

We love this market and use it as our oasis when traveling on the drive up and down the coast! Nutrient dense, hip vibe, quality cutting edge products, and yummy. Hunter in the supplement section helps us navigate and zoom into the right choices and has a graceful outstanding grasp of ingredients, watch outs, suggestions, and guidance. High five, Hunter — we really appreciate you!

This market has the best hot food selection and raw food. I love grabbing their food to make meals for the week. They have great selection of bars and drinks too. One of my favorite markets.

I know this review is kinda overdue, but I guess I take it for granted that EREWHON is just down the street from my office. Upon entering, the glossy huge slabs of earth tone flooring exudes a soothing natural zen feel, making you feel this need to eat fully pure and organic. The natural and wood elements inside the store invite you to venture and explore the neatly & orderly shelved isles. I would come here more frequently, but their pricey sushi($ 13 – 16) is not that spectacular. Honestly at that price point, I’d rather order SugarFish(in Calabasas Commons) for take out… but I’m a SugarFish addict. The hot food station and bar are a really popular hit during lunch time and their interior high table seating is very convenient. Outside seating can get really uncomfortably hot during the summer. Parking is accessible in their lot, but it can get crammed during the lunch rush. I do luv their glass bottle juice packaging(add $ 1.50 bottle deposit) and fresh organic cold pressed juices. So I’ll be back for more of their premium specialty juices.

I decided to visit the market tonight after hearing about it from a health-conscious friend over the weekend. The irony is that the one item I was looking forward to purchasing tonight(a Jem Nut Butter) was not carried by the Calabasas store. After walking up and down every aisle and scanning all the prices I must say that I wasn’t that impressed. Although the store is clean and in order and the staff is friendly and eager to help answer any questions that the customer may have I feel that the majority of the products are overpriced. A good portion of the items I’m referring to can also be purchased at Sprouts or organic sections of other supermarkets at a fraction of the cost. Don’t get me wrong the store also carries quite a lot of items that I haven’t seen in other markets. So with that being said it’s definitely worth visiting. If you don’t mind spending $$$ and are in the mood for organic healthy tasty ready made food I would recommend swinging by and visiting their prepared food section.

This erewhon is everything. Take a stroll down their salad bar and you’ll be floored by how fresh and delightful their ingredients are in comparison to their competitors(cough Whole Foods canola oil and soy bar cough cough). But really, thank you for continually raising the bar in health foods and bringing the joy back into nourishing my body with food!

Erewhon in Calabasas is like an upscale Whole Foods, Jimbo’s, Sprouts. but wayy better!~ I first came by here a year ago and fell in love and came back a few more times recently and made some different purchases. ;D They have a great selection of everything that you can look for in a grocery store, and so much more. plus a lot healthier selection of products, with high quality ingredients. =] –huge glass bottled juice variety!.. although pricey worth every penny ;P –TONICBAR: coffee/juice/teas/healthy shots/pizza/snacks/pastries. love love love their iced coffees! –a few tables inside and a few more outside. great for eating or drinking or hanging out –great selection of vegan vitamins, supplements, and toiletries.~ –clean, organized store –sweet and friendly service :)

I LOVE Erewhon so much that I could write multiple love letters to each part that I love about it. This one is very similar to a small Whole Foods with a lot of different aisles of healthy food items! There are so many amazing options that are also very wholesome. You can by farm-fresh pasture-raised eggs and even get a feel of them(which I did, and I was contemplating on getting them until I realized that we already had eggs in the house). It’s like a closeup of locally sourced foods. There’s also a wide variety of produce, but it’d probably be a lot larger in bigger Erewhon markets. What’s pretty cool about Erewhon is that they make many foods homemade, such as dahl, vegetable soup, chili, chicken noodle soup, all served in mason jars with labels that list all the ingredients so you know what’s in it if you want to replicate the recipes, sans measurements. You can also go to the bakery section where they have oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, Paleo bread, banana bread, muffins, everything like that, and they label them the same way. I tried the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that were completely whole grain and vegan one time – BEWARE, because you’ll probably end up eating the WHOLE entire packet if you’re not careful. Like Sprouts and Whole Foods, Erewhon has an aisle with raw foods such as kombucha, vegan collard wraps, vegan cheesecakes, all that amazing stuff, and this probably has to be one of my favorite sections because sometimes, there’s actually Café Gratitude packaged foods like their raw vegan pumpkin pie slices, key lime pies, collard wraps, salads and chocolate coconut cream pies! SOSO good. However, I was really sad to see(upon coming back last Saturday) that they were no longer selling Café Gratitude items. It’s probably a seasonal thing. Lastly, I can go ON and ON about the takeout bar. I guarantee you that you will find at least FIVE items that you’ll have trouble deciding upon picking(well, in worst case scenario, why not get all five?). My personal favorites were the tamari tofu, cinnamon-roasted squash, brown rice-crusted orange chicken and the vegan kung pao chicken! I’d have to say the orange chicken was my favorite simply because it helped me reminisce back to my childhood where I’d just eat nothing at Chinese restaurants but the deep fried orange chicken. Except, this is MUCH healthier! However, I highly recommend all of these foods and if you find that they happen to serve it at whichever Erewhon you go to, sample it and you’ll see why! So, why is Erewhon only a once-in-a-while health foods store? Well, it’s simply because it’s very expensive – almost nearly as much as Whole Foods. I’d come here for the takeout bars, the smoothie bars, the bakery or if I find anything that I wouldn’t be able to find everywhere. I’d get produce and certain packaged items somewhere else, and save your bucks for the interesting foods!

Can you believe it… I have never heard of this place, until a special someone brought it to my attention. Everyone knows how big of a fan I am of healthy grocery stores that have amazing food options– kill two birds with one stone kinda place. As soon as I walked in, I felt this peaceful feeling. It was so organized and they had the friendliest workers. Everyone was asking me if I needed help! They even had these vendors set up with food stations like Costco!!! I originally wanted to just have lunch and look around the store, but guess what I ended up walking out of there for just about everything you can imagine. I also purchased these new probiotics that I’m excited to try because I have not seen them at Whole Foods or Sprouts and I’ve been on a probiotic kick lately. So here I go… I don’t live in Calabasas but I am definitely coming back here!!!

Erewhon is an expensive version of Whole Foods conveniently located by the 101 Freeway at Lost Hills Rd. I was driving home from Thousand Oaks and was absolutely starving, so I decided to stop in and take advantage of the café. I am much more familiar with Whole Foods hot bar, so I was bummed that I did not have the same option here. Also, the staff was not very helpful in explaining the method of ordering. After standing around at the counter for a while surrounded by locals who knew what they were doing, someone finally helped me. After several false starts with containers after explaining what I wanted, I finally had the Vegetarian Combo plate. For $ 12.50 plus tax, I got a «main» and two«sides.» I only wanted sides, so I basically had a double portion of one side(they will not split) and two other sides. I had the Cauliflower Aleppo, which was slices of cauliflower(with the stalk and the leaves, which is a major ding) in a slightly spicy Aleppo pepper marinade. This was VERY tasty and would have been awesome except for the leaves and stem. I tried the roasted acorn squash, but it was flavorless, so I skipped it. Instead, I had the sautéed seasonal greens. Chopped swiss chard — leaves and stems — were sautéed in grapeseed oil, heavily salted and finished with a bit of vinegar. Other than being incredibly salty, this was good. But, it was as salty as a bucket of popcorn. Blech. For my main, I had roasted seasonal vegetables. Chopped green beans and halved Brussels sprouts were tossed with sliced shallots and garlic and then roasted until they were tender and lightly browned. This was absolutely delicious, even though they left the ends that should be chopped off of green beans. Overall, my reaction was that the service left a bit to be desire and that the quality of the product was mixed(stalk and leaves, too much salt, ends of green beans, which is a little bitter to swallow considering the price tag. Would I be back for veggies if I were in the area and starving again? Maybe. Would I be happier about spending $ 12.50 on it if the staff were friendly and the product were better trimmed and not swimming in salt? Definitely.

Erewhons standard as follows… « “We strive to sell only the purest, ethically and sustainably produced foods, wellness and beauty products, and household items.» I guess the minute you step foot inside this establishment, you are in good hands. As long as you got the $$$$ to burn don’t hesitate to go here. A couple bags(meaning 3 – 4 bags) of groceries could set u anywhere from $ 200 – 450. Luckily they have a membership program($ 200 fee per year) that allows you to accumulate 10% back on in store purchases(read fine print for exclusions) Erewhon offers its own pressed juices. Its the same concept as other major pressed juice retailers. Retails $ 6.50-$ 15 per bottle. They also offer a 4 day juice cleanse for $ 199. I had their Organic Almond Milk which retails for $ 9 plus an additional $ 1.50 for the bottle deposit. A bit pricy for a drink but it was one of the best I’ve ever had. *** They have 3 locations; Los Angeles(Beverly Blvd), Calabasas, and Venice. If its time for lunch and you are nearby. Give their fancy café a try! :p

Now this would have to be the nicest grocery store ever! The selection of items is so amazing, stuff you can find literally nowhere else. They stock many independent farmers and small local companies, I could spend hours here browsing. Prices are insane but you feel so good shopping here and can really make each meal a unique experience, everything I have bought here has been amazing. The service is exceptional, the store super clean and well laid out. Most feel good shopping ever!

I love this place. I mean I really do love this place from the fresh produce to the homely made food to the fresh juice bar. Everything about this place feels natural and organic. I will suggest going on Wednesdays since its Asian good day and get the vegan Kung pao chicken as its to die for and the Mac and cheese . The price is a lil costly but at the same time you get a good amount and you’re buying Quality. I would definitely suggest this spot to others especially if you are looking for some good pizza, juice, or a plate of delicious meat and veggies

We recently moved to the area. I’ve been shopping there quite often since we moved. pros: — interesting selection of organic foods. — delicious hot food bar. cons: –insanely EXPENSIVE! –inattentive and unhappy looking staff. –costumer service needs big improvement.
