Excellent fish tacos and wedge salad! All the food looked good coming out of the kitchen!

Been here a couple of times. Small, comfortable restaurant. Wait staff has always been friendly. Simple healthy fare. Food is decent for a neighborhood place, but wouldn’t go out of my way. For some reason this comes up as a gluten-free option on Unilocal.ITISNOTGLUTEN-FREE! Came here with two people with celiac. Kitchen is small, cannot prevent cross-contamination and the staff told us that they could NOT prepare ANYTHING gluten-free. Kudos to the staff for being honest about it. Should get that fixed on the Unilocal listing to avoid disappointed customers.

Pizza and salads here are really yummy. I think it’s a bit pricey for what you get but it’s by far the best food option in the area. Considering they’re tucked away in a strip mall, the space is quite charming. It’s small and can get crowded but the waitresses are nice and the food is always tasty. The white pizza is my favorite. The onions are caramelized and the crust is sooooo good. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s a perfect place to grab a bite. Or, if you’re biking on the trail and you’re looking for a place to stop and fuel, this is your best bet!

My favorite restaurant in town! It is small and often crowded, but definitely worth the wait. The staff is all more than helpful and welcoming. The food is incredible. I feel at home when I’m at Wild Tomato! The best atmosphere! The fish tacos are great! The pizza is incredible, too. The fish dishes are to die for! They had a vegetarian lasagna as a special once and it was amazing. They have a lot of different options– not just your classic restaurant options. The portions are a good size and the prices are not too bad. And they have really fun drinks! Our favorite thing to do is eat here in the summer in the outdoor seating. And they are so welcoming of the dog to join! So fun. A++ Definitely a spot to remember!

It’s a small place but the angus burger was delicious. It came out hot, juicy and dressed. Most of the time burgers come out just warm … this was hot and delicious and cooked to «pink» just as I ordered it. Love the fact also that the burger was bigger than the bun so I wasn’t just eating bread. Fries and pickle were good too. Friends had shrimp salad sandwich which looked good and Cobb Salad which had fried onions on top for crunch. That was my 2nd choice so I’ll try that on my next visit. I work in a pizza place so definitely will be trying their pizza but it looked good from a distance. Staff was friendly and attentive too. It’s the kind of restaurant you could visit a couple times a week. I will definitely be back … soon ~

I found this place on Unilocal as I was searching for restaurants nearby the billy goat hiking trail. We checked out the menu online and were immediately sold on the selection. Upon our arrival, we ordered the lemonade and the clam strips. I don’t know what they put in the red sauce to accompany the clam strips, but my taste buds were whistling. It was good! Next, we all had separate lunch entrees. I had the shrimp and grits and they had the fish tacos and the mushroom pizza. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal. I love the Salvador Dali like artwork. I’ve been thinking about that mushroom pizza so I will go back for that next. ;)

Very generously sized portions. I had the Barbecue Chicken Salad and it was quite tasty. Not as much chicken as I expected but it was filled with other things like crispy onion straw, black beans and corn. A friend had the fish tacos and they looked amazing. I’ll try them next time. A comment and a reason for the 4 stars: they put the bill in a jar and place it on the table. Maybe it was my waitress but it took me a while to realize it was there. I actually wondered why she came back to the table. This was my first time there and I was expecting the little black/brown folder. Maybe say something when you bring it.

Service a little slow(Sunday, mid-afternoon) but food delicious and the coffee outstanding — and plentiful. Great place to hang out outside and enjoy a last gasp of summer.

I visited w/friend first time @Wild Tomato(8÷31÷15) for happy hour. Located in Cabin John/Potomac area on MacArthur Blvd. Nice shady outdoor seating. We sat inside(air conditioned), bistro vibe. lite meal: meatball slider(ground meat w/tomato sauce & mozzarella cheese on soft bun). Cosmopolitan(nice/strong). My friend enjoyed wedge salad(iceberg lettuce, blue cheese, tomatoes & blue cheese dressing), fried clams & nachos(cheddar cheese, guacamole, sour cream over tortilla chips) & «dirty» martini. Prompt/pleasant service. Worth another visit.

Wild Tomato has been a go-to for my family for a couple of years now. The food is always great, and the menu has really good variety. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like… The BBQ chicken salad and pizzas are a couple of my favorites.

If you haven’t been… It’s a MUST! You will not be disappointed with anything on the menu! The awesome art that is on the wall is for sale, I wish to own a piece one of these days! The only problem is seating, it could be hard to find a seat at times and the parking is bad but well worth the effort.

We and the Tomato are in a long-term relationship. We love this place. The staff are friendly. The vibe is casual and fun, almost like a neighborhood get-together. We’ve had the fish tacos(many times), steak frites, salmon, pizza, hummus app, wedge salad, and other things I can’t remember right now. I haven’t had anything I did not love. We took my father-in-law here and he loved their mashed potatoes, so they brought him a whole separate dish of just mashed taters. As others have said, the place is small and they don’t take reservations, so you might have a wait – but not bad. Also love the art on the walls. We always leave happy, relaxed and full of great food.

I have gotten pizza, the Wild Tomato burger, and shrimp and grits(today) and all three were delicious. The burger is one hell of a burger, juicy and tender and stacked with everything. Their drinks are awesome and they have a good variety of sweet(Pomegranate Margarita) and less sweet(old fashioned w/bourbon) and they’re all great. Shrimp and grits were delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal here.

I give it a solid 3+. I laud the ambitiousness of business owners to create a unique dining experience in this part of Montgomery County. Although it was kind of busy, we didn’t mind the wait. I had the fish tacos, which were a little pricey for what you get, but they were enjoyable. Although different and not quite up to the same level as San Diego’s fish tacos, these made a decent impression. The outdoor seating was a nice touch, especially on a beautiful evening like today…

Stopped by for an impromptu dinner — the grilled marianated chicken was delicious and spiced to perfection. Mash potatoes were delectable and the burger very meaty and flavorful– would come here again and bring kids

We’ve been coming here since we moved to Bethesda in September. It’s always been great, but I think they changed the head chef recently and it has been FANTASTIC ever since. everything we’ve gotten the last 5 trips or so has been ONPOINT. I also think prices are right in line with what you get. You guys have a great thing going! Would LOVE it if they considered opening for brunch.

Great neighborhood place in Cabin John that we hit once every month or so. It can be a bit busy, but the tables turnover pretty quickly. All the entrees are good, sometimes there may be something off but very rarely. Very affordable wine list with some good bargains on it. Staff is attentive and helpful. Some menu highlights include fish tacos that I think are better than the fish taco place in the same shopping center, a delightful steak frites, and an excellent burger for when the mood strikes. The pizzas also appear to be popular, but haven’t sampled them myself. But, the key thing here is the chocolate pie martini dessert. It will change your life. My wife gets annoyed that I always get dessert after a big meal here, but its like going to Egypt without seeing the pyramids — you have to have it.

Wild Tomato is usually packed at dinnertime. There was a 30 min. wait, so we ended up sitting at the bar when seats opened up. This was our second time dining here. We loved the charcuterie last time, so we’ve been wanting to come back. We ordered the charcuterie, crispy clamstrips, wedge salad, and steak frites. The clamstrips were amazing, possibly the best I’ve ever had. I also ordered one of their cocktails– the pome-rita. It was way too strong so I took one sip and couldn’t finish it. The bartender noticed that and offered me another drink on the house– very nice of him. Service was exceptional and we will definitely be back!

This place feels like it should be really good. It’s cozy, the menu is small, and it has a decent reputation if you ask around. However, I think the 3.5 star average on Unilocal is about right. The food is just OK and it doesn’t capitalize enough on it’s small, hole-in-the-wall vibe. I got the fish tacos and they were good, but not amazing. They were actually pretty tasty, but mostly in the way that fried fish and a decent Mexican slaw is delicious rather than anything particularly exciting or new. My wife got the the seared tuna salad and it was really only OK. The tuna was tough despite looking as though it had only been seared and the greens and dressing were nothing to write home about. In the end, there wasn’t anything bad per se, but just nothing to hugely recommend it either.

I’ll say this– I like the neighborhood vibe at Wild Tomato. It’s a bit tiny in winter when there’s no outdoor tables, but it’s more cozy than crowded. The«famous» fish tacos are good(but not great) and while some of the fancier pizzas looked pretty good, the basic margherita was fairly awful. So I think it really depends on what you get.
