My husband and I made a pit stop at the outlets before heading to Palm Springs. Around 11:00AM on Thursday 5/19, we popped in the food court to grab a bite to eat and decided on Jody Maroni’s since the«fresh» place didn’t make wraps. They were pre-made and charging over $ 8. Anyway, my husband ordered the Maroni Club Chicken Sandwich and I got«Jody’s Giant Kobe Beef Hot Dog» which is 100% premium Kobe Wagyu beef served on an onion roll. I made it a combo so it came with fries and a drink. She asked if I wanted onions and peppers on my hot dog and I replied«Sure.». Our total came out to $ 24.16. When our food came out, my husband insisted that they gave me the wrong order. He said«I thought it was supposed to be GIANT». His chicken sandwich looked a lot bigger than my «giant hot dog.» I agree that it was a lot smaller than I was expecting, but the actual hot dog was thick. The hot dog itself was pretty tasty, but I personally couldn’t tell the difference in quality compared to a regular beef hot dog. I really didn’t care for the onion roll. The thing that totally ruined my meal were the pieces of burnt garlic. Every time I took a bite, I would wonder what I was tasting that was so off putting. I finally realized it was that burnt bits of garlic so I had to try to scrape all of those out in order to enjoy my food. The fries were okay. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. All in all… it was just okay. I should remember to eat prior to heading over this way. LOL 55⁄100 Reviews for 2016

I should’ve read the reviews first. Customer service: 3. Was so so. I asked for a side of ranch and sauerkraut. She looked at me confused at first, then realized what I said. Food: 2. I ordered the #2 Hot Dog Combo. Comes with a hot dog, drink, & French fries. The hot dog’s casing was way too thick! Very thin hot dog. Bun was not even worth eating. I didn’t eat any of it. The fries were so heavy. & not a good heavy. Thick & soggy. Ate about half of it. The drink. Sprite ! Best thing! Haha. Pricing: Overpriced in my opinion. Total was $ 8.09. Overall: If you’re craving a hot dog go for it! Otherwise, I do not recommend. & panda is right next to it in this little food court.

Let’s face it, the last thing Outlet Malls are know for is finding a decent place to grab a bite. The food courts are small and leave much to be desired. This particular food court at the premium outlets has some variation from the norm and Jody Maroni’s is part of that line up. The only other Jody Maroni’s I have tried was at City Walk Universal and that had to have been at least 10 years ago. I was dog tired after using up some gift cards at the outlet mall and was too hungry to soldier on any longer without some sustenance. Maybe it was all the football watching during the holiday season but man this sounded like a great idea. Coupled with the fact it was near freezing outside and a hot link smothered in sauteed onion peppers became even more appealing. I thoroughly enjoyed my artisan link in a soft and tasty bun. It was spicy, filling and just plain hit the spot. The fries were good too and he quality was top notch. if you get one of the coupon books from the info booth(free with a AAA card) they offer a 10% off coupon on 10 dollar plus purchases. I am curious as to why the ratings, other then perceived value, are so low. The biggest pain was simply finding a seat in the super packed seating area of the food court. I had to buss my own table after waiting with tray in hand for someone to finish. Not much else to say a stadium quality(or better) artisan dog at a reasonable price.

I wanted to like Jody Maroni’s more, but… I’m trying to understand the value added here. Portillo’s Jumbo dog are $ 2.99, while Costco and Sam’s seem to be able to sell their ¼ lb dogs for $ 1.50, including a drink. So with high expectations we came here and ended up spending $ 17.25 for two sausages and one drink. LOL. Mind you, their prices seem fair when you consider that Häagen-Dazs is selling small cups of ice cream for $ 5.00. And as you will find, this outlet has a mostly captured audience. A large group of visiting Chinese nationals were truly making the Panda Express owners day next door. I counted over 100 customers while we ate. So we ordered the Italian Mild and Hot Sausage for $ 6.49 each. The sausages were both somewhat spicy, but with no fennel taste. The onion roll type buns held up pretty well, but it was their julienne cut small onions and green peppers that I will remember most. They were outstanding, with a complex garlic taste and sautéed to perfection. Wow, who would of thought that’s what made this a three star review, over a one or two star. Next time I’ll skip the sausages and go vegetarian. I would call your attention to long time Unilocal friends, Anthony M and Mike L’s reviews to get another take on eating here.

Overpriced and doesn’t live up to the hype; location is prime so I see why the prices are high. But not worth it.

It’s pretty expensive here. The prices make me feel like I’m eating at the Nathan’s in the food court in Monte Carlo. But the sausage sandwich I ate here is better than everything we get there. There is a 10% off a $ 10 purchase coupon for this establishment in the VIP coupon book. It took a while to come out, but it came out nice and hot and tasty.

We grabbed a quick lunch at Jody Maroni’s while shopping at Desert Hills Outlets. Located in the food court of the older side of the outlets, Jody’s had the shortest line compared to Panda Express and a pizza joint. As it was my first time, I had no idea what to get and ordered the same thing as my boyfriend, the Chicken Andouille Sausage Sandwich, which was really just a hotdog. Grilled onions and peppers topped the sausage over a fresh baked onion roll. Overall, it was okay. A bit dry, kind of bland, nothing memorable. The combo hand-cut fries it came with had seasoning that was similar to Great Steak & Potato Company’s shaken fries, and tasted mostly artificial. I can see why they had the shortest line. I learned afterwards that there are better food options in the newer side of the outlets, but they’re not grouped together in a food court, so they’re tougher to find without an outlet store map. Knowing this now, I wouldn’t go back to Jody’s or that old food court.

Ok people, you do realize you are rating a FOODCOURT establishment right? What do you expect? Hubs and I decided to come here because the line for Panda Express was almost out the door. Nobody was here and they looked like they had a decent menu so I decided to get a Corn Dog combo and it was good! Yes, it is a little ridiculous with the price but the food was not gross at all. It served it’s purpose. The fries were good too. Hubs ordered the Chicken Club with Bacon and Guac and it was very good as well. The quality of the meat was great for getting fast food. Service was normal and the food court isn’t too big, so good luck finding a seat. I would rather come here than Panda. I’m almost finished with my meal when people are barely moving through the line there. All in all, it was A-OK just like the rating says. I’m never a fan of food court places because it’s fast food and convenient. Yes, it’s pricey but the food was actually better than I thought it would be.

this outlet doesnt have much of a food court. there might have been 5 choices at most to choose from and one of the options was an ice cream shop. we probably wouldnt have come here had there been something better being offered. we just figured, how can you go wrong with hot dogs and burgers right? we decided on getting: jody’s polish SPECIAL sausage jody burger and an order of chili fries. burger was good but it was strictly meat, bun, and lettuce. nothing more, nothing less. chili fries were piping hot but didnt have much flavor. very very bland but eatable. last but not least, the polish special was absolutely terrible. appearance alone was lacking, it was sloppily thrown together and oily even around the bun. there was supposed to be peppers onions, spices, and a few other things to top off the sausage but it pretty much just turned out to be more oily onions. i should have looked at the Unilocal reviews before coming here. definitely felt ripped off. for the amount and quality of food i received, i would have been better off just starving myself.

While shopping at the Desert Hills Outlets, I started to get hypoglycemia and wanted a small snack to fill me up till dinner. None of the food court restaurants looked appealing. I decided on their hot dog combo(hot dog, fries and drink) for $ 7 including tip. The hot dog was pretty puny(way smaller than Costo’s). The wiener itself had a nice snap with each bite and good flavor. The fries were meh. I wouldn’t eat here again unless I was starving.

I was highly disappointed with both quality and price. I have a family of six, 3 of which are small and don’t eat much. It cost me and my wife well over $ 50 for 2 hamburgers, 4 drinks, 4 dogs, and a chicken sandwich. price aside, the quality was pretty bad, and for the money i would have rather gone to the casino and been served at my table. The food was a major waste of money and I won’t be eating at another one of these again!

I stopped by the food court for quick snack. I didn’t get to order their burgers or their hot dogs, but I did pick up their hand cut fries. They were the cheapest item on their menu. It was about $ 2.49 for a regular. I thought their fries were alright. They were kind of soggy, not crispy like how I’d normally like mine. Although, they were seasoned which made it pretty tasty. Still, they were greasy and oily. I’m just not a huge fan of soggy fries.

Good dog. Nothing spectacular but sure hits the spot when your being dragged around shopping. I had the Coney Island, which is basically a Chilli cheese dog, with Chilli cheese fries and a strawberry lemonade. They also have your basic hot dog condiments available plus jalapeños. I piled jalapeños onto the dog and fries to my heart’s content. Hotdog didn’t have that snap that I love in a good dog but it was still tasty. For a little over $ 10 it was a good amount of food and I couldn’t finish the fries. Again, decent eats but nothing outstanding.

***This Jody Maroni’s is surprisingly better than the other locations I have visited; their chicken andouille was juicy and had both a nice snap and a good flavor(nicely spicy); their toppings of sauteed onions and peppers were okay though the bun did kind of disintegrate; their fries were hot and crispy*** This Jody Maroni’s is located in one of the food courts at Desert Hills Premium Outlets, which has its own free parking lot. It can be difficult finding an open space during peak shopping times.

Avoid! Food is passable but you will feel like someone stole your money after you eat your meal. Very little value for food received. Maybe it was because the food looked quite good on paper…

Good stuff, but it’s pricey because it’s in a mall. My boyfriend got the Jody Cheeseburger and I got the Maroni Club, which had avocado, bacon, and chicken. Everything about the food here was well seasoned and good quality, except for the fries. I personally prefer thick fresh fries, not greasy, thin, dried out ones. Overall, good experience and pretty good food. Very filling! I came on a Friday at lunchtime so it wasn’t too crowded.

The chili fries were great. And that’s the only positive thing I have to say about this experience. The italian sausage was less than mediocre. No spices were evident at all. And the prices were outrageous. And no refills on the expensive drinks. The worst part was that we were eating at 7:20pm on a Sunday and were finishing up about 7:40pm, when a worker at the food court started shooing everyone out of the food court. My wife took my son to the restroom to change his diaper and let him do his business, but they were ordering her out at 7:50pm. C’MON!!! The place says they don’t close until 8:00pm. There were still several patrons in the food court. Are these workers cheating on their time cards? Is management too cheap to pay them the extra 15minutes to have a proper close time of 8:00pm??? They were totally rude to my family. Thumbs down all the way.

Man, do I feel duped. I almost exploded in my pants when I saw that they have a giant Kobe beef dog. But my worst fears came true — a hot dog is just a hot dog. They lure you with the word«giant» next to it, but I have seen bigger. Don’t get me wrong, it is still pretty substantial at a 1⁄3 lb. Maybe they are grading on a curve here because it’s an Asian Kobe dog. Whatever the reason, I had no trouble puttin it in my mouth and it was gone in 43 seconds. Part of the reason that Kobe beef dogs, or even hamburgers will almost always be short of living up to the hype of their steak counterparts, is due to the nature of Kobe(or Wagyu) itself. What you are really paying for is the high level of marbling of fat that gets in between the muscle fibers. When you grind the meat, this marbling texture is now lost. If you look at any ground meat it has marbling. You can create it by varying the amount of fat you grind it with. Ask your butcher for a 60⁄40 lean to fat grind and voila!, you have ground Kobe beef(from a practical taste perspective). But at 9 bucks a pop, I would expect something more. Not totally Jody’s fault. The sausage was clearly a higher quality and had a nice smokiness to it and casing had a good snap. But it is really their flavored sausages that define them. I did find consolation in their wonderful garlic fries, just overloaded with garlic . If that doesn’t give you a frygasm, you are a frigid person. The only minor downer was that they sauce they use ends up making the fries a bit soggy, but still delicious. I really felt sorry for the workers in the other shops at the outlet — they had to endure my potent garlic breath. There is a bit of a dearth of decent eateries at this outlet so Jody’s really stands out as being one of the«finer» establishments here.
