Big Lots is like a really fancy dollar store. Also comparable to a cheap Marshalls or TJ Maxx, but minus the clothes. They have dollar spices and sick deals on microwave popcorn, but they also have pots and pans, bedding, and big packs of toilet paper. Price wise these guys are hit or miss. Some of their prices(like 8 bags of microwave popcorn for $ 2.10) can’t be beat. Other products are on the expensive side here: name brand foods, toys, furniture, etc. If you want to shop for non perishable foods/snacks, toys, cleaning supplies, toiletries, home décor, kitchen appliances, movies, etc all in one place and don’t want to support big corporations like Walmart, then Big Lots is definitely a good option. Big Lots is cheaper than Target, but you do sacrifice buying name brands for the most part. I should mention their awesome Christmas section. They have tons of gift baskets, toys, décor, even fake Christmas trees!

Nice service and great prices but poor furnature planning and stock accountability. Bought a dresser from them and I had to return twice for missing parts. The customer service was nice but it was a hassle.

Management decorated a tree while the line was all throughout the store. We stood in line for nearly twenty minutes while being ignored by staff members. Its the holidays and I understand… but too far. The prices are so cheap. But it’s not worth the drive to get here and wait in line only to have the trashy looking employees get snarky.

I don’t think the previous reviewers understand what Big Lots is all about. It’s true that the inventory is constantly changing but that’s because they buy out inventory from other stores rather than from regular suppliers. Big Lots is intended to be more like a retail flea market. I think they fulfill that purpose very well. The staff are friendly and helpful, too.

My boyfriend is obsessed with finding a «good deal» and so he loves, loves, loves, Big Lots. I’m not sure if what you find here is a better deal than anything you might buy at Costco, Target or similar discount store, but he always manages to come home with a trunk full of stuff. I think the biggest«problem» I have with Big Lots is that their inventory is always changing, so you can’t necessarily find the same items on one visit as you did during another visit. That’s frustrating for someone like me who is very much a creature of habit when it comes to certain household items. I suppose this is a good place to stop once a month or so, just to see what they have. You never know what kind of random«treasure» you’ll find.

If you don’t know what you want to buy and you know how to walk over children’s toys splayed all over the place– this is god way to waste forty five minutes getting the most random home décor stuff. If you look for kitchen towels-you see candles if you look for candles you see a broken shower poof. Do you see a pattern?
