One of my favorites for a great burger. Small little place that’s been around forever. Love the burger and also really good stuffed peppers. Have had soups that are really tasty to. Love this place.

Great burger(huge too). Cooked to temperature correctly(medium), fresh toasted bun, and fresh toppings. Fries are a great style(skins on, looked homemade) but unfortunately they were not fried correctly and were soggy. If you’re looking for a simple, excellent burger than that’s what you’ll get here. Very similar to Grover’s but much closer if you live in the area of Vizzi’s, never as crowded either I’m guessing.

I am dumbfounded as to why so many other reviewers were surprised that the burgers at Vizzi’s are actually half a pound. Are most of us conditioned to assume that restaurants falsely advertise the items on their menus? Know this, at Vizzi’s, the burgers are ASADVERTISED; they are also freaking awesome! I came to Vizzi’s on an empty stomach. I wanted to eat the entire burger. Not only did I eat it all, but I also washed it down with two bottles of Stella Artois; not a bad choice of beer to pair with a burger. I was a little dismayed when I saw the sign on the door that Vizzi’s is a cash only establishment, but with the ATM inside, I decided not to turn around and leave. I wanted a burger, dammit, and I was going to have one. Next time I come to this restaurant, and there definitely WILL be a next time, I will come prepared with cash so that I don’t have to pay a surcharge at the ATM. On the subject of money, the prices at this restaurant are totally fair. I did not order their famous beef on weck, but I did see several of these sandwiches served while I was there. Vizzi’s will not allow any substitutions on the side dish for the beef on weck; you are stuck with potato chips. Having seen the sandwich, I can understand why there are no substitutions: Vizzi’s spends all of your money on the beef. These sandwiches are absurdly large. I really cannot understate this. My half pound burger was so big I could barely fit it in my mouth. When the waitress asked me if I was enjoying it, I remarked, «It is rather difficult to get into my mouth, but once it’s in there, it is fantastic.» In hindsight, I don’t think I would have made this remark before I drank two beers(I certainly did not mean anything lewd), but it is completely true. If you are the sort of eater who is worried about making a mess, then don’t even bother ordering a sandwich here. You just have to let go and stuff your face. You will not regret it.

Lee and I had finished up watching Captain America Civil War at the Maple Ridge theater, and it was late, too late for most places to still be open. We occasionally run into this problem, and I really should consider making a list of late-night eats for that part of town. We called one place but got no answer so I decided to roll the dice to see if Vizzi’s was still serving at 10:30PM on a Saturday. Turns out we were in luck, just barely! We came in and it looked like the place was about to close, but the bar was filled and a couple of seats opened up. The bartender let us know it was totally cool, the kitchen was *just* still open if we got our orders in. Lee and I made up our minds quickly: I got a cheeseburger and he got a bacon cheeseburger. Both with fries. We also got a couple of beers. They have your standard Blue and other macros, but they also have at least one micro on tap, which made us happy. Bar is tiny and friendly and definitely family run. Everyone seemed to know everybody, but they weren’t unfriendly to outsiders. Burgers arrived and man, they were HUGE. I didn’t realize that they were half pounders. It was delicious, but almost too much burger for me. I know that Lee wasn’t even able to remotely finish his fries. But the burger was cooked great, and seasoned nicely. I can definitely see why this place has a reputation for having the best burger in Buffalo! It’s not fancy, but it’s delicious. I’d definitely go back for sure! It would get 5 stars, but cash only.

Every time I go past this place I swear to myself that I’m going to try it. Well, finally I did! You know a place is going to be good when the vestibule smells like cigarettes and it’s cash only! Totally a dive bar but it was SOCLEAN! I got a cajun burger and it was MASSIVE and delectable. I’m at a loss of words honestly. I figured how good could this be, its a burger. Nope, the reviews you read are completely accurate. Only a few complaints about the soda being like Dollar Tree brand and no free refills. I wonder if they have a soda machine or 2L back there. Nothing will affect the 5 stars though. I’m so glad I finally tried Vizzi’s. To sum it up: CASHONLY. HUGEPORTIONS. OFFBRANDSODA, SMALLCUPS. NOFREEREFILLS. AMAZINGFOOD. DATED, BUTCLEANRESTAURANT. PAYFORCONDIMENTS.

Great burger. A minor step below 5 guys, better than Red Robin. Cash only is annoying. Cool«hole-in-the-wall» feel.

Oh lawd. Rest of the table ordered the monster burger as per my suggestion because I knew it was so so so good the only other time I was at Vizzi’s. I, on the other hand, still had the craving for the giant Beef on Weck that my buddy ordered on the previous visit. I usually draw the short straw whenever I deviate from the major choice in situations like this but I definitely«won» this time. Awesome sandwich. Service for our table of 7 was very friendly and quick. This is considering that it was on a Tue night with full occupancy at the bar(Sabres game on the Telly) and most of the tables filled. Heard that Vizzi’s owners were selling and am not sure if this was the new management but I couldn’t tell and will definitely be back; sooner than later I hope.

Be still my heart. Vizzi’s is just the best. If you are craving a burger, look no further than the yellow awning. Though some may be turned away due to the exterior, or even the interior, I think it’s exactly what gives this place the character that keeps me coming back for more. My boyfriend and I consider Vizzi’s the perfect date night. In the many visits I have made, I’ve never once steered away from my usual Monster Burger with cheese and bacon, and a side of pasta salad. I am not one to usually shy away from an order of handcut fries, but the pasta salad is delicious and you get a gigantic portion which I will usually eat the rest of the week. I have stolen a few fries off of my boyfriends plate though, and can attest they are delicious as well. The staff is always super nice, and the food comes out at a decent speed. Also, it’s the best deal in town. You would spend more on 2 meals at McDonald’s probably. It’s also great for takeout. They do only accept cash, but there is an ATM on site. There is also a full bar. Wait, I just remembered one night after a few cocktails I did partake in their bacon grilled cheese sandwich… it was devine.

Alright. I’m here. I’ve finally made it out here. After one of the longest weeks of 2016(so far), I was really looking to chow down. I’ve heard they hold the crown for best burger? Time to see if that crown exists. Small seating area makes this place kinda… «divey». Small draft list and RC Cola enthusiasts will find theirselves at home here. There was one table left when I walked in… It was calling my name. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries(and gravy) and a side of their potato salad. I’m planning on taking food home, and judging by the plates I’ve been seeing as I wait, I will be able to do just that. The burger was great. Nice and hearty. Absolutely will fill you up. It was a little too greasy for my taste, and the burger was cooked a little inconsistently(too rare in areas). Fries and gravy were clutch, as was the potato salad. Best burger in buffalo? Not sure. I don’t think it would be. But, it’s for sure up there. Will be back to try the fish fry! Go in confidence

And they totally lied about the best beef on weck. It was not only bad it was horrible. Honestly the worst roast beef sandwich ever. It was obviously microwaved. Meat was grey and after a few bits I felt rather nauseous. I hope to never go back. Beer selection was bad and all of the burgers everyone else got were under cooked. Charlie the butcher is apparently the only place to get a good sandwich around here. I also came with a pile of chips … Potato chips from a bag. Again very disappointed and bad.

Vizzi’s is so awesome. Its really only something a Buffalonian would understand. Despite the rickety walls and the creepy ceilings and the fact that they only accept cash, you CAN’T go wrong for a ginormous burger for 8 $. You just can’t. I’m not a big fan of red meat, but Vizzi’s is worth the cheat meal for sure. I mistakenly went here during restaurant week which was a poor choice because it saved us maybe 3 dollars but it was as delicious as always. I wouldn’t recommend coming for restaurant week, no free refills and the soup weren’t worth it when you could be going elsewhere and getting a better bargain. The wait staff are always pleasant, and the hand cut fries are some that I wish every restaurant took the time to create. They have a full bar and I know some people come there just to drink as well.

Vizzi’s looks really crappy from the outside and even inside when you walk in, but don’t be scared away by its appearance. They have great food, big portions, and cheap prices… great combination! I always get the monster burger with fries. The burger is HUGE and you get an enormous pile of delicious fries. Most people will leave with lunch for tomorrow or just need to be rolled out of the restaurant. Like I said, it’s crappy looking inside and very old. The appearance means nothing once you get an awesome burger and fries for $ 8, you can barely get a combo meal at Burger King or McDonald’s for that price! They only accept cash but they do have an ATM inside!

Everything at Vizzi’s is delicious. You can’t go wrong! I especially love the banana peppers, burgers and fish fry(served every day!) The service is friendly and I am always satisfied when I leave here. #1 burger place in buffalo hands down

Nom, nom, NOM!!! My mom and I split the fish fry and a bacon cheeseburger. Burger cooked well. Very juicy and flavorful patty. Simple seasonings make it taste great. Lots of fries that go very well with malt vinegar. Fish fry isn’t a beer batter but is breaded and fried. Not greasy. Loved the potato salad. Thick chunks of potato. No mustard. The place looks like a bar because it is. Looked like good beer prices! I’m going back again. Almost ate all of it but didn’t want to look like a little piggy!

This place definitely has one of Buffalo’s best burgers! They are correct about that claim because they truly do compete with the other best burger places. The burgers are big and juicy. They’re perfectly cooked as well. This is a burger to call home about(and I did after my first visit there). Just remember to take cash with you because they don’t take credit cards. They do have an ATM inside of the restaurant if you need it.
I like Vizzi’s and this place can be packing the people in for sure! And yes like others mentioned the place is dive bar ish and only excepts REAL money! Hurray! I’m old school and hate plastic! The food here is pretty solid! I did try a bacon cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese with pasta salad as the side. The burger was seasoned and cooked right with nice crispy bacon to top it off with! I loved it! As for the pasta salad, I did receive a huge portion but I found the taste a little bland for my liking personally and I wouldn’t get this as a side again. I’d definitely be coming back here when I crave a taste for one! I’d certainly place Vizzi’s up in my top 5WNY favorite burger places to go to for sure!

The day I drove here was very foggy. There was zero vizzibility. I remember it well because it was announced on the radio that the owner of this place had killed a top pop musician who had been #1 in the Billboard Airplay Charts 3 years running. I wrote a song about it. «Vizzi-owner Killed The Radio Star.» It buggles me why it never became a hit. What to get: Burger. What else: Fries w/gravy. Vizzi’s is like a hospital. You can only come here during Vizziting hours. Which are: mid morning to 10pm ish. So please bear that in mind. Literally, bear in mind, as in, focus all of your attention on a cute Panda or Koala, and think of nothing else. It is literally the only way to enjoy their famous burgers. Actually that’s false: these are Buffalo’s best burgers. The hype is true, although there seems to be more negative hype lately. Please, give it a try and see for yourself. But I was annoyed with the sodas. They had no carbonation. Flat. In other words, they were no longer vizzi. Many Unilocal friends don’t like Vizzi’s. Maybe we have different taste in burgers. I’ve had some awful burgers in WNY and some great ones, but this is the best. It’s juicy, it’s delicious, it’s simple but mostly it’s just yummy. To me, Grover’s is big, tasteless, awful. This is big, tasty, delicious. But what do I know? I just eat here. Reading the bad reviews I keep expecting to come back and realize it sucks. Instead, every time I eat one, I love it more. Joe Pesci loves it, so does Marisa Tomei(and I love her). That’s why they starred in a movie about this place: My Cousin Vizzi. So more on those«other burgers.» Grover’s is awful, Ruzzine’s is yum but awful service, and Lenox, Average Joe’s, Buffalo Joe’s(lol @ all the Joe’s), Good Tymes, even Griffon and ABV(overpriced), all have great burgers, but Vizzi’s is the winner. #1 in town. Big, tasty, juicy burger perfection. There’s nothing fancy about it, it’s just f***ing good, really really f***ing good. It’s the one I keep coming back for, of all those aforementioned. They have a bar, too, in case you want«Whiskey In The Jar.» That’s a song by the way. Originally performed by «Thin Vizzi.» I enjoyed every bite of Vizzi’s. It deserves all the kudos and awards it has won. In burger terms, you won’t get much better than Vizzi’s in this area, that’s for sure. It’s not fancy or expensive, nor hipstery, unique or inventive. It’s just a burger, and a very very good, juicy, delicious one at that. By the way you know that blonde girl from Australia, who raps«Black Widow» and«Work» and«Bang Bang» with the lovely Ariana Grande? She’s named after this place. Vizzi Azalea. Or is it Iggy Vizzilea. Idk. Idc. Dilligaf. As for them refusing to make it less than medium: I can see how that would be annoying if you prefer it rare. I always get burgers medium, so it’s fine with me :) But you may want to «rare» that in mind. I heard Alex L loves the burgers so much he’s buying the house next to Vizzi. Is he?(Get it? Vizzi. Is he. Nm. Hides.) The burger isn’t the only star of the show. Recently I brought a young guy with a healthy appetite(not sexual, but yes that too), and got him a huge hunk of meat(after the meal, but while we were there I bought him a burger), and he lovvved it. The cute girl serving was wonderful to us and she and he flirted the whole time; which he enjoyed almost as much as the meat. And the burger. By the way, the Pope loves Vizzi’s, and often gets them imported to the Vizzitican City. Or is that the Vatican Vizzi. Idk. Idc. Dilligaf. We got fries and gravy, and my goodness, they were even better than I remembered them. Hot, greasy, fresh, with lovely flavourful gooey brown gravy slathered all over them. No I’m talking about the fries not the waitresses… tsk. I actually met some crazy African guys here, but they were also fascinating. I would describe them as «Very Interesting Zambian Zealot Insurgents». Or VIZZIs for short. So I definitely recommend the dine in experience, over the take out experience, so you can enjoy the lovely service and have everything hot. And I mean everything. And the food hot too. There’s a barista covered in tats with enormous implants who works here too, I was going to flirt with her, but I didn’t want to be like all the other guys. Besides, there were people in close proximity and I didn’t want them to all start taking the pizzi out of me. So. Service: great. Fries and gravy: great. The prices are even great(their enormous burger is under $ 10, while much smaller incarnations are 11 – 15 at some other places around town), and they also happen to have the best burger in town. Come, try it, let me know if you agree. In other news, I’m getting tired of people reviewing bridges, tunnels, roads, cities, towns, villages, NFL teams and f***ing Soccer Stadiums. What is wrong with all these weird a** Unilocalers? Don’t they know you’re only supposed to review Vizzinesses? Oh wait. I sound like a Vizzibody. Forget I said anything.

All the hype. I brought my brother here because of the hype. Neither of us was thrilled or understood the hype. Servings very large. The beef on weck my brother had was«ok, I guess» he said. Hmmm My burger was just too much. And overcooked for my taste. That’s all. Place is not the cleanest ever, nor is the service great. But you can play the lotto when here. That’s a plus. Cash only Parking is nearby in a lot or street.

Hype worthy. My S/O was craving a burger and we wound up here thanks to Unilocal reviews. I wouldn’t have thought once, let alone twice about stopping here if it were not for reading the many glowing reviews here. 5 star dive bar is the best description I can offer. The burgers we ordered were out of this world. I ordered the ½ pound cajun burger with pepperjack cheese and the pasta salad. The burger was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Just the right amount of cajun«burn» for my taste. Talk about filling, I struggled to eat ½ but it was so good I managed to. Huge portion of pasta salad which was dressed well, very italian style and again I could only finish half at best. Delicious burgers and friendly service. Burgers took awhile to come out, maybe 20 minutes or so but were well worth the wait. Ambience nothing to write home about but that mattered not. Looking forward to another visit soon!
