Local Korean dive bar — so I mean yeah… it’s exactly what you’re picturing in your head. If you haven’t been to a Korean dive bar, then expect little metal cups for water, beaten up metal tea pots that hold water, stale popcorn(if you’re lucky it’s semi warm), and lots of Korean people drinking a magical elixir from green bottles aka SOJU. Goes down smooth you say? Well don’t let that creep on you because it DOES! That’s my PSA of the day! The service here is great and one of the main reasons we(my friends and I) keep returning! The food is also pretty good, of course I haven’t really tried anything other than their french fries, spicy chicken, chicken wings, whole fried chicken, steamed egg, and the clam/mussel soup. WOW… that’s a lot! Well if it makes it any better I’ve been coming here for years! haha. This is one of 4 Korean bars in the area so you don’t really have too many choices. Although I think during the day they are a restaurant! :) Minus one star because sometimes parking can be really annoying and sometimes the patrons that come here are pretty obnoxious it’s not really the business’ fault but they attract that crowd…

These Korean bars would work a lot better if they just stayed near LA. But, I can’t blame them for trying, since Fullerton & Buena Park are just as popular for Koreans to be hanging around in. With more Asians staying local, this place should get more business, but along comes competition so it kinda evens out. Located near the Buena Park Auto Center, it’s a wooden style pub, with decent space. The drinks comprising of soju, beer, makgeolli, cocktail soju, and Korean wines. With the advantage of being able to smoke cigarettes inside, it works for some, but doesn’t work for me. The seating reminds me a lot of Dan Sung Sa in K-town, with some tables sectioned off, making it slightly more private. The service is OK, with the older Korean ladies that are usually more attentive and fun to talk to. When it gets busy, good luck with the bell cause that shit doesn’t help. Looking at their menu, it’s got variety, along with Korean BBQ, but I would refrain. There’s a time and a place for this kind of stuff, so you’re stretching to the outer limits if you do. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was half way decent. The prices? More than manageable. Ironic, that there’s a cheap motel behind the location, where I guess you put that annoying friend who passed out from too much drinking. The options are endless, especially with all the DUI’s and issues from trying to be a Rad Racer on the road. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. ICINGSOJU My current flavor of the month — mix one bottle of soju with one can of iCing(grapefruit makgeolli). Gives it that sight sweet taste, but will jack you up fairly quickly, with minimal full stomach. It’s a creeper folks, so keep it classy. CHRISEATSHERE the quest for the ultimate korean bar

I have been to my fair share of kbars and ever since my go-to’s have closed, I get pretty disappointed the more I experience new ones. This place seemed pretty small. I did not like the seating, didn’t get the intimate feeling like I do at other places. Likewise, the seating didn’t seem like it could accomodate a large group of people. Felt really crowded. Service was great, but thats mostly due to our Korean accompaniment. Got to try popcorn shrimp, that was not too great. A kbar is a kbar to me. But what would stand out for the group of people I go with is the ability to smoke inside. Not much else to say about this place.

I dont like this place. Lol. i came here twice. The service sucks. Twice they didnt have other flavored soju besides yogurt. Ordered yogurt soju & it came in a dented up rusty teapot. Not even in that pretty soju jug! it was filled up less than half way of the teapot for $ 20! ripppppp offffff. all the sides are 8 $ & up. ordered the creamed corn, it was okay… they also have Krn bbq here, but i guess nobody usually orders it, says my friend that frequents here. Oh! and there’s a bathroom here, but Guys would just pee outside in the patio… WTF! so gross… the only plus is they give you free popcorn. dip it with the hotsauce it’s bomb! new discovery, You’re welcome! Lol.

Meh. It’s alright. If you’ve been to Dan Sung Sa in Ktown, it’s reminiscent of the place. That wooden, sporadically lit atmosphere, makes you feel like you’re in the boonies. Food is hit or miss. We came for drinks and some bar food. The cheese corn was a classic, went well with our«pitcher» of Hite(1.6 L bottle $ 12). The ttong dak was unfortunately very dry and bland, bummer. Soondae was solid. Dduk skewer was also pretty tasty, simple. They also have BBQ and plenty of random dishes you can order. Overall, it’s an OK place to just hang out and grab drinks, but I’d move along if you’re looking for a real meal.

4 stars for the Fresh Seafood Grill! but 3 stars overall. I’ve had the fresh seafood grill about 5 times now and pretty consistent when it comes to quality. Only time it was off was actually my first time and it was way too salty. The service is spotty. even with the bell. The older ladies do a much better job. Sometimes have to ask them to cut the seafood shells for us instead of them automatically doing it for us… some shells require gloves and a tool to crack them open like the oyster. You must ask for the kalgooksu at the end. They will not bring this to you automatically. Also it takes quite a bit of time for them to prepare this… about 20mins or so. But it’s pretty delish and soothing and peppery… especially if you were drinking. Many of the korean bbq meats are seasonal and not available all year. It’s not mentioned in the menu so you won’t know until you want to order it. Many of the grills are broken. The place is pretty dirty. it is a pub and it has the pub grill, but honestly it needs some deep cleaning done. I saw a roach once around the leg of the grill. at least it wasn’t a rat! lol There’s alot of smoking going on inside… and loudness for sure. After 10pm, expect alot of young kids there screaming on top of their lungs and smoking away.

Cute little place near the fwy! Love that it’s never busy. Soju prices are a little high but I’ve come to expect that at most Korean bars. Service is super sweet. I’ll be back again soon! Also tried the original fried chicken — pretty noms! They look like those mini chickens lol.

Dingy. Dark. Divey. Three things that will attract Koreans of all ages and class to a hole in the wall drinking joint. Gol Mok Kil is just that. They offer plenty of anjoo(Korean pub food) and it seems their speciallty is also seafood bbq. You can order in set menus — small, med, and large and from the looks of it, the portions were huge! It includes clams, mussels, squid to name a few. Oh, and of course, alcohol is included in the set menu! This ambience here kind of reminds me of Dan Sung Sa in Ktown, except more like its big sister. We ordered the gizzard stirfry, corn cheese, doshirak, and of course, plenty of beer. Food was just ok. The highlight was the doshirak. It was just rice, sausage, kimchi, radish, and a fried egg that was in this oldschool style metal bowl. We kept it on top of the grill which gave it a nice burnt bottom… Which I loved. It’s kind of ghetto food, but very comforting, especially on a cold night. Service here was awesome. Our corn cheese had too much cheese and not enough corn. They gave us a new one… No Problem! Fun place to meet up with friends for a drink and some munchies. If you’re in the mood for some OB, I’d recommend getting the 2 liter bottle. It’s Refreshing! Will definitely be back when I’m in the area. 3.5STARS!

jo gae goo ee!(CLAMBBQ?) I don’t know when they started this but they have a new menu besides the AYCEKBBQ. CLAMS!!! I went on a Monday night with my Coworkers to try this new special they have! We ordered two mediums for 7 people. The Medium was about $ 50 and it came out with: Shrimp, oysters, abalone, aoyagi, mussels, manilla clams, conch etc. They serve you side dishes and seaweed soup to complement the meal but nothing beats Soju to complement this. The Aoyagi was the BEST it comes with spicy sauce on top and they tell you to cook the rest of the clams with the sauce and it’s DELICIOUS! I was infact VERY iffy on the oysters because. I’ve gotten food poisening from some other place before but I’m alive so I’m writing! I don’t think there’s any place in OC that serves CLAMBBQ. i don’t know what to call it so I’m going to call it CLAMBBQ. I’ve been here so many times just to drink… and drink and drink but for the past few weeks we’ve been coming here to eat, mainly. haha I also tried their Choon chun dak galbi(spicy chicken plate?) … They cook it for you infront of you. or you cook it yourself but it’s DELICIOUS! But I do want to tell you that their menu is pretty much VERY korean so it’s kind of spicy and has a strong garlic taste. After you eat most of the chicken and the veges and the rice cakes(there’s everything inside) they bring rice to make fried rice for you right in front of you! OMG the fried rice was honestly the best part nothing can beat it! BOOLDAK(FIRECHICKEN) is not as spicy as people say it should be. It’s more SWEET than spicy. Their fried chicken gizzard is GOOOD !! you must eat it with the salad and the spicy sauce which does seem like it’s just tobasco but still. haha I’d say avoid the Thirsty thursday thru saturday because it does get CRAZY up in here and you’ll see drunk people EVERYWHERE and the bathrooms get FILTHY but if you want to try their food(ESPECIALLY the CLAMBBQ) and sip on some soj, not too much, come! :) It seems like not a lot of people wrote reviews for this place but all the other reviews are so true. I did notice that they got very strict letting underage people drink. I see none anymore. I do like this place but it’s dangerous because there are so many cops so if you’re plannig on HEAVY drinking… cab it or have a DD. Their food is AWESOMETHO!!! :) I’d just come to eat hahaha I don’t get why they didn’t put restaurant/bar …haha
