After getting an extremely high estimate from Big O (won’t do business there ever again), Brownsburg Muffler gave me an estimate that was much lower and told me I did not need my rotors replace. I had suspected as much since I had the rotors replaced on the last brake job I had. Big O is a rip-off. I will do business with Brownsburg Muffler since I value honesty and integrity.

Brownsburg Muffler is a great independent shop. The owner, Jeff, is very friendly and knowledgeable. Pricing is fair, and they will not perform «extra» services without your prior approval. One other reviewer mentioned pricing, and all I will say regarding her comment is that there is a book value that services are assigned and for the most part Brownsburg Muffler charges along book values. They do not gouge though, and have been very reliable and quick about servicing my vehicles for 15 years.

I’ve had several services completed by Brownsburg Muffler, and I always thought they seemed kind of pricey. I don’t know a lot about cars, so I just trusted Dave.
Just an example of how pricey they are:
I bought a headlight myself and brought it to them to install. They charged me $ 40 for labor. Keep in mind that that price did NOT include the price of the bulb.
My other bulb went out, so I stopped by Big O in Brownsburg, and they charged me $ 17 total including the bulb. How can there be such a huge difference in price for the same service? The reason is because I was ripped off by Brownsburg Muffler.
I will not be back. I hope I can find another mechanic in Brownsburg because I haven’t been thrilled with Mears either.

We have worked with Dave at Brownsburg Muffler for several years. Last week we had our VW in for repairs. Dave is great at listening to what is going on with your car and identifying the problems. Repair quotes are specific and accurate… no surprises upon paying. I especially appreciate the upfront appraisals along with advise as to which problems need attention and the priority of the repairs
