Wow. I’ve never been treated more poorly at any establishment than I just was at Sarku Japan. I was told flat out that my money doesn’t matter and they don’t care if I ever come back. I guess it’s time to find somewhere else to eat every day.

Oh my gosh. I’m writing this review while still waiting over 25 minutes for my ONE tuna roll. Slowest workers ever… And they keep checking their cell phones. My sister ordered plain white rice and it was awful.

I don’t know what they use to marinate their meat but it is Delish!!! It’s so tender with a unique flavor before they even throw the teriyaki sauce on there. I always get teriyaki sauce on the side. The veggies are overly greasy and the rice is nothing too special. I always get double meat. Just love how tender and flavorful the chicken is.

This is a simple and straightforward teppanyaki place, offering teriyaki beef, chicken, and shrimp in various combinations. The chicken is especially good, with a nice crisp texture. They offer a few specialties such as spring rolls and shrimp tempura, but I have not tried those.

Not a great place for sushi. The ladies were rude, while I read the menu they seemed irritated that I didn’t order fast enough. I ordered the Dragon Roll, not too bad. Not a place you voluntarily eat at for a good lunch it’s more of a convenience thing if you’re already in the mall.

OH.MY.LANTA. Worst sushi I’ve ever had. First of all, the worker lady was moving at the most glacial pace I’ve ever seen. And my friend and I were asking her questions about the food, and she didn’t speak enough English to understand what we were staying. Her answer to everything was pointing to the sign and reading it, which said«chicken, eel, or tuna»(most of which did not even apply to the questions we were asking). We both got the bento box, which came with a California roll, seaweed salad, choice of sashimi(chicken, eel, or tuna), and 4 potstickers. The Cali roll was dry, the rice was horrible, the avocado was hard, and the crab mix was tasteless. The sashimi(I got eel) was actually decent, if you didn’t eat the horrible rice. The potstickers were filled with some kind of unidentifiable substance(maybe some sort of chicken product?), and were overcooked(tasted microwaved) and bland. Never again.

Not bad for what it is. My husband and I are both big fans of sushi. And normally we pay not so cheap prices. So it was refreshing to spend a little less than $ 20 for the two of us. We’ll probably go back when we visit the Flatirons mall since it’s a healthier option.

Sarku Japan has two locations in the food court at Flatiron Crossing. One is the sushi bar, the other is a Japanese grill. This is a review of the grill. I can get a veggie soba(big portion) with a spring roll and a drink for about $ 6.46. Good, consistent quality for a mall food court joint. Nothing spectacular to write home about, but it does the trick when I need to get out of the office for lunch.

The place is pretty good for a quick eats. Got the teriyaki chicken a was great but the veggies were bland. It was just boiled or at leases tastes like it was. Overall pretty good for a quick bite.

Samples to draw you in, discounts on multiple rolls to make you pull out the cash, and watching the preparations to keep you interested. What used to be a green tea, seaweed salad, edamame, miso soup, inari, and chicken teriyaki roll — so awesome to share with a friend or two! — has changed over the years, but I keep on coming back. This place is addicting!

The four-star rating is for the context of shopping mall food. This is one of my favorite quick-service restaurants. The food is fresh and tasty. Today I enjoyed the«bento box» special – even if I was a little disappointed when it arrived on a styrofoam plate. Maybe I’m a little partial to bentō since my last name uses the same character for Tō, so I get used to saying«bentō no tō, fusa no bō…» since it’s an uncommon name in Japan. I digress… The unagi(barbecued eel) was decent, as were the seaweed salad and California roll. I’m not completely sold on the deep-fried gyoza, since I like the traditional steam/pan fry preparation. Elphey I. likes the chicken teriyaki rolls. Some things can’t be helped.

Yes I’m writing about foodcourt food. In fact, I find even food court reviews are helpful in choosing a quick meal. I came to the Flatiron crossing foodcourt because I found out online they had Sarku Japan. When I lived in Boston, I always loved their chicken teriyaki — it’s delicious and it’s always their value choice. In Broomfield, it’s even cheaper than the east Coast at $ 5 a meal. Soooooo good. I don’t think i’ve tried anything else here – why would I? The photo posted here is actually their sushi bar across the food court.

I seem to remember this place being better five years ago than what it is now. Still, its Mall Japanese food, and very good flavor for being in the food court of the mall. Chicken Teriyaki seems to be their most popular meal, and it was really good. They cook your food fresh and offer you extra sauce. Its one of the best eating places in that mall.

Sushi in a mall. I was skeptical but thought I’d give it a try; the Panda Express down the way just didn’t quite hit what I was looking for. This place is not the equivalent of any highly-praised sushi restaurant, but for mall fare it stands out as pretty unusual and, yep, tasty. They have 12 «basic» rolls there, 6 or so «meal deals», and 2 lower mid-range rolls, dragon roll and rainbow roll. You can also get 6 types of sashimi there if all you want are the fruits of the sea. All the basic rolls are under $ 5 for 6 pieces, the meal deals are $ 6 – 9, and the dragon and rainbow rolls are between $ 8 – 9. I had the shrimp tempura roll and the salmon & avocado roll. All the ingredients are fresh and I watched like a hawk, ready to swoop down if I saw anything amiss as my rolls were prepared. Instead, a quiet server deftly prepared my rolls and was even slow and thorough enough to watch; I saw a few steps I was unaware of, which was pretty cool. Pretty quick service, I have to admit. The rolls were satisfying and delicious. There has to be balance in the universe overall, and this time what seems like my default«I want to give this place 3 ½ stars» rating has to fall on the low side, for the basicness of its menu and, heck, for being in a food court environment. That being said though, I’d have zero objections going back here and if you crave sushi meandering through Flatirons Crossing, this is a great place for a quick nosh.

By no means do I consider myself a sushi expert. Nor a sushi novice. I pretty much stick with shrimp tempura rolls. Hey! Stop rolling your eyes! We all have our drawbacks. Where was I, ah, yes… I found myself at Flatirons and for some inexplicable reason, I was tweaking for some tempura rolls like the new kid in the methadone clinic. I headed to their booth to see what was what. The counter girl was friendly, the price was right at around $ 6.00 for a five-piece, small bowl of miso and a drink. They prepared it while you watch and present it as well as mall rolls could possibly be presented. I sat down and had absolutely zero complaints about the rolls themselves. Flavorful, good texture and filling. It was no Sushi Den, but as I said, I’m nowhere near that level anyway. I have been there several times since and have always had good grub and good service.

ewhhh GROSS… the rice wasn’t cooked all the way and the seaweed was chewy. I have been to other Sarku locations and it wasn’t bad for being in a mall… but this location was terrible! and it was expensive… I hate paying a lot of $$ for really bad sushi

Who eats sushi in a mall? Well, I did. Because it was a heck of lot healthier than those other mall dining options. I got the lunch special and I have to say I was very impressed. Lunch consisted of a bowl of delicious miso soup, 6 nigiri(various kinds of fish) and 6 piece California roll for about $ 10. What a deal. I’m wary of eating raw fish in a land locked state, but this stuff was super fresh. Sarku Japan has stores in over 30 states. I’m not big on chains, but this is an exception. If you find yourself ravenous in a mall, this is the place to hit.
