I have been eating at this restaurant many times per year since it opened many years ago and last night was the worst of many bad experiences since this restaurant has changed ownership. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of the two best things they have going there which is one of the male, Asian waiters that has been there for many years and Santos, one of the chefs that has been there for many years and are still fantastic! The customer service has gone way downhill and the food is not what it used to be. 10 of us decided to go celebrate a birthday last night and the waiter, a younger, skinny guy with shoulderlength brown hair was absolutely horrible. Our table sat dirty with empty drinks the entire evening. He was slow, uninterested, and had no desire to be there. We were looking forward to seeing the chef, that is usually very fun, but the guy we had was an absolute jerk and had no customer service skills at all whatsoever either. The family that was seated with us, had two boys that may have had learning disabilities that tried to engage the chef and all of us try to enjoy and have fun with him and he was a complete jerk. I’ve never seen him before, but if management is interested in knowing who he is, he had a full beard and mustache, was a Caucasian gentleman with no reason to be there either. Not impressed, should have kept our plan to go to Japon instead where they have incredible sushi, food and impeccable customer service.

Upon entering the restaurant we were not greeted even though it looked as if most of the whole staff was up at the front and were watching TV. The food was ok. I went into the restroom and there were three stalls and only one was working so I would think they should be cleaned and then closed off. There were three sinks but only one soap dispenser worked. I’ve been to another restaurant like this(Benihana) and I would have to say Mt Fuji would not be on my places the I would recommend list.

We took our son here for his 12th birthday and loved every minute of it! The servers were VERY attentive and Santos, our chef, was super engaging and had a great sense of humor! The scallops were amazing as well as the shrimp. Everyone’s steak was very flavorful and cooked to our desiRed wellness. The Vegis were to die for, Not over cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sushi is OK and I would suggest it if you’re just starting out. Someone who has a more sophisticated palate for this, may appreciate the hibachi grill more. Not sure why so many people complain??? We were very pleased And will be back again.

I would love to give half a star. We decided to go to dinner at @ 5PM after a movie. Mt. Fuji was a bit crowded but we decided to give it a go. We should have turned around and left. The customer service was very bad. We sat in the Sushi bar so my rating will be on that area. The sushi chefs did not acknowledge us at all. Our waitress was more concerned about a big table behind us than what we wanted to order. She disappeared after the sushi was served. We had to ask for our bill after sitting for 15 minutes with empty drinks and plates. The hostess was horrible. I will never come back to this restaurant again. Both my partner and I got sick after eating here. The only good thing concerning sushi, was the salmon and tuna. Good not great. BEWARE of Mt. Fuji!!!

We read other Unilocal reviews but decided to go anyway. Unfortunately the reviews were accurate. Looks like there needs to be some revamping of the current situation there. First we made reservations for 2:30 they didn’t seat is until 3. The waiter seemed totally stressed out. He brought us diet Pepsi that was terrible. We had to explain to him that there must be out of syrup or something. It took him forever to get our replacement drinks. We never got refills. The people next to us didn’t get their drinks until after the chef started cooking. The chef was ok but not overly friendly or happy to be there. With the restaurant being pretty dead it seems like the other employees could of jumped in and helped with drinks etc. i disagree with other Unilocal reviews about the food. We all enjoyed the quality of food and the taste was wonderful. Service was shotty and very slow. Management needs to step in. This being New Years weekend one would think they should be on their game.

We were celebrating a birthday with family. There were 10 of us, and we could not be seated until everyone arrived. I get it, someone is always late and you need everyone’s order before the chef can get what he needs to prepare the meal. However, I have a daughter with a social anxiety disorder and she was very uncomfortable standing in the lobby as people passed by. Not the restaurant’s problem right? Maybe they could offer some beverages to people who are waiting rather than expecting customers to go to the bar and order for themselves. When we tried that there was no bartender to be found so we waited without drinks. Standing around it was hard not to notice the dust bunnies that had built up on the partial wall ledges, and bamboo decorations near the entry. Seating space was poorly maintained and unaccommodating for a large party. Once everyone arrived we were seated promptly and courteously. The menu was a little confusing and we had not been there before. When my wife had questions the server seemed a little annoyed. Once we had our drinks and the chef came out to start the order he had some difficulty reading the hand written ticket. But he food was good, they brought out a complimentary birthday desert and we made it in time to see our movie. Not all bad, but certainly could have been better.

The waiter was not very engaging. He gave poor/slow service. The drinks were not worth the price. The beer was served warm and the cocktail had a funny after-taste. The meal itself, we order the chicken hibachi, was barely warm. The only thing I could actually enjoy was the rice. The veggies would have been awesome had they had been warmer. Probably will not return to this place.

We got what we expected. A good meal with a very entertaining atmosphere. A little pricey but it was worth it.

Great food fun atmosphere of you go while the hibachi is still open. The steak is cooked perfect and the rice is on spot as well as the veggies. The drink choice is far from good but food makes it worth it and there are plenty of places near by to grab a drink after.

We were really looking forward to trying this place but was very disappointed with the food and service. We specifically told our waiter that it was our first visit and he did not care. In fact, we felt rushed and felt we were more of an inconvenience for him. Additionally, our drinks were not cold and our food was sub par. Had both hibachi and sushi and was disappointed.

I have been to this place at least half a dozen times and never had a bad experience, but this last time was the best! We went for a friends birthday and from start to find the dinner was top notch. We started with Sushi. The dragon roll and spicy tuna were excellent. After the soup and salad(nothing extraordinary but still solid) came the veggie and noodles round. My wife and I are currently gluten free and oil free so we requested everything GF and with butter, and the chef was not only accommodating he was enthusiastic and made a good joke out of the whole thing. And frankly, the entire meal with butter instead of oil was AWESOME! My ribeye and my wife’s salmon were better than they have ever been! With the exceptional service everyone had an awesome time, including the 2 Habachi newbs at the table, and we will absolutely be back as a party!

TL;DR — don’t order sushi, just go for hibachi My coworkers were in the mood for some hibachi, and I was in the mood for yummy sushi. What a mistake. Please do not order sushi. The quality is extremely questionable. I also tried an avocado salad. The salad was absolutely unbalanced — the yummy avocado was drenched in mayo and thick teriyaki sauce. Gross. The flavors just clashed and nothing made any sense. Hands down the worst avocado salad I have ever tried. I think if they served the salad with a vinegar or citrus based dressing it would have been very good. Hibachi, on the other hand, is quite decent. I sampled a few things. The meats, veggies, and rice were quite alright.

The food here is great I give the food 4.5 stars however the service here is lacking. I have been here a few times and each time the waiter seems like he couldn’t give a crap about taking your order. The waiter I had has been there for a long time as I saw the same person years apart. The waiter might of said 10 words max to us the entire time we were there, he never asked if we were good or if we needed anything else he just dropped off the food and left. I looked around and it wasn’t just my table it was everyone he served. He seemed like he was the starving artist emo I don’t give a s*** about what I’m doing type of person and his service reflected this. This restaurants is next to a movie theater so I assume people come in before movies to eat where they might be in a bit of a rush… I wouldn’t advise this your waiter could take 30 minutes just to ask you what drink you want. Summary: food great service poor

I dont know why this place has terrible reviews. I attended a lunch with my family and we all really enjoyed it. We tried the hibachi side of the place, and the service was great. Waitress always gave us what we needed, and the hibachi grill guy was very friendly!

5 stars for the awesome chef! Kudos to you amigo for being so friendly even though the rest of the staff was out of it. 3 stars for the food, not bad, but not the best I’ve ever had a at hibachi 2 stars for mediocre service with 10+ ppl on a weekday night, it wasn’t that crazy and we did not have to wait for a hibachi table. With that said, our service could have been better, however, the staff would have rather sat chit-chatting at an empty table around that the corner. Given there was only 1 other hibachi table, our appetizers should have been flying out the door, but I guess when you get the automatic 15% tip, well, you do stuff at your own pace. She forgot the sushi roll entirely, our drinks sat empty longer than we cared for them to be and she could have smiled just a little. On the other hand, our chef was great and although the quality of the food was ehhh, he did his best to cook it to perfection for us. He performed the usual acts of funny-isms and smiled a ton. He made an otherwise drab night that much more fun. It was a bday dinner and he was quite nice to the bday girl. Overall, I’ll spend the extra bucks and go over the competition and possibly hire our chef for our end of renovation cookout!

I came in for sushi so I didn’t sit at the hibachi table. I ordered a couple of rolls and some hibachi chicken rice. All in all pretty good. When I have visited before and sat at the hibachi table it was fun and the food was good. Definitely a better choice than Benihana.

I have previously considered this my goto place when I am craving sushi… Not anymore. On this occasion I was alone so I took a seat at the sushi bar. I have to say the sushi chefs at the bar are always great. After being seated at the bar I waited some 10 minutes I had yet to meet a server or even order a drink. One of the sushi chefs noticed and summoned a server. Drink in hand I opened the menu, it was different from the last time I was here, I thought great they updated their menu. Their old menu was really bad, falling apart, and the pictures were not very appetizing. I am always suspicious of places that put pictures of their food in the menu. So I am thinking new menu, looks more modern, it’s clean and tidy. I browsed the menu and immediately discovered they had changed their prices. Now I have eaten here for years, and I always expected the prices would eventually go up, but this price increase was shocking. My usual Sushi Deluxe, usually priced at $ 21.50 was now $ 29.00 but that’s not all, they decreased the portions too, 14 pieces of sashimi down from 19. I know there are plenty of sushi restaurants that are more expensive than this. But this place just isn’t in the same class. The atmosphere is more family/sports bar, not classy upscale sushi bar. I ordered the Sushi Sashimi combo, since I was in the mood for both. I do want to complement the server, he was very attentive, and came by frequently, I haven’t seen him before so I assume he is new, hopefully this guy stays as this restaurant desperately more servers like him. The sushi was fresh as it always is here, but I just couldn’t get over the price change. In the end I settled for $ 40 including tip and left still hungry. It’s the most I have ever paid to eat alone, and leave hungry. My final thoughts on this place, it seems they are struggling, they have a long list of bad reviews, they have had less than stellar health inspections, and they have a lazy and uncaring culture within their server staff. Instead of fixing the problems they are taking it out on the customer, charging more and serving less. I wouldn’t be surprised to find them OOB in the near future.

I’m tacking on one star because this place was blarrrgggghhhhh… At least that’s what my stomach said. It was around 2pm on a Saturday, so there were only two tables. My friends and I sat down and the little waiter took our order. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 20 minutes to get our food. It wasn’t busy… I guess people move slower when it isn’t busy? When we got out hot sake, it tasted old and sour, but my bf and I already took two shots from it, so we didn’t return it and I drank the rest. The amaebi(sweet shrimp) had a slimy texture to it. These hibachi places shouldn’t be selling sushi if it doesn’t taste good! Just stick with the hibachi! Overall, the food was not fresh tasting. Another thing they remind their customers three times that they’re tacking on gratuity for a table of 6 or more. Like the big red stamp that says GRATUITYINCLUDED and telling us three times wasn’t enough. Our waiter was slow, sat at the hibachi counter for the majority of the time with his other co-workers and everyone else who works there looks miserable. So just to make sure, I circled the red stamp multiple times and wrote next to the stamp saying INCLUDED, just so they know I’m not tipping them extra.
