Get the avocado appetizer it’s delicious! We also had the wood hull hotdog and thought it was great too. Staff was friendly, place was not crowded. Happy hour pricing is good and house wines are okay but I’d probably try different wines next time.

Me and a friend split a bottle of wine(after a very enthusiastic description and tasting from our bartender), several small tapas($ 5ea) and a sandwich each(also $ 5 ea) which were bigger than expected. Plenty of food for a light dinner. Our bill was only $ 30 each. Great environment, friendly staff, awesome wine and food. We will be back!

Good wine selection. Good happy hour. Didn’t have much food so no comments. Great to catch happy hour before a movie.

My fiancé and a couple friends were looking for a good place for a glass of wine and a little food but didn’t want anything too expensive or busy on a Friday night around 6:30pm. We passed by Woodhul and it fit the bill nicely. Their Happy Hour runs until 7:30pm where they have a couple wine selections for $ 7/glass and most of their beers(all bottled) are $ 5/ea. These aren’t the best happy hour prices I’ve come across and the normal prices are definitely a bit too pricey for my taste but the place was beautiful and fairly quiet at that hour so it was well worth it. For food they have a small menu which includes small shared plates, small sandwiches(a bit bigger than a slider at about $ 6 – 7), and hotdogs(which definitely seem out of place here). I did have a couple of items off their menu that ended up being the most delicious things I’ve eaten all month, and that includes Thanksgiving. Their version of guacamole which is made to order mashed avocados, with bacon and dried cranberries($ 9) served with plantain chips was amazing, it was the best guacamole type dip I’ve ever had. I really don’t want guacamole without crispy smokey bacon and sweet dried cranberries anymore because of this dish. The chip to dip ratio was unfortunately off with the lack of chips but that’s certainly better than being skimped on the dip. I also tried the prosciutto wrapped dates stuffed with a marcona almond. These were served warm and came 4 to an order for $ 5. They were tiny and not the best deal for the money but were amazing, 8 to an order would definitely have been better. I wouldn’t come here for a meal or outside of happy hour but for the experience I had during happy hour with a few of my friends the place was perfect.

Omg!!! This place is amazing!!! I’ve been living in NYC for ten years and haven’t found a better spot than this. Super friendly cozy, real Williamsburg feel. There hot dogs are the best in Brooklyn. Bar tendered gets 10 stars and I was fortunate enough to sit right the owner. unknowingly Of this till the end of the night. We had a great chat and I could see the passion this guy has for his bar … Once again this place is wonderful give it a try

When in Williamsburg you never know what is going to happen, so just let it be. This is one of the best neighborhoods in the WW I had the pleasure to hang around. The people is interesting, friendly, educated, open-minded and creative. I could guarantee you will find what to eat, with who, at any time(before 2:30 am) while you just walk around some streets(Bedford Av. is a protagonist in this challenging for your senses area). I told my cousin that visit this wine-bar&kind of tapas place, was going to be a good idea cuz of fellow Unilocalers said so in their reviews. However, while in the mood of globetrotters, she found another place way more interesting. On the way back to Emmanuel’s(our fantastic host from Venezuela thought airbnb), we passed in front of this place, so we suspected that the stars were shinning on a way that it was our destiny to go inside… The decoration of the place made us feel comfortable. The bartender was swinging&moving at the rhythm of the songs sounding while pouring our wine’s election on fancy cups. I loved the Ecuadorian gentlemen helping that barman(I think he was the most charming being with his feet strongly posed on the floor). I have no clue how it happened, but after some interrogations by the bartender, we ended up, knowing the @owner of the joint. He loved how we were from South America and he kept telling us stories about his backpacker’s days down there(Guatemala and South Easter of Mexico). He explained us he decorated the place by himself, and that he has a really unusual frame of a movie from Fellini. He was cool, but after not trying to pick us up during 45 minutes… he mentioned he has a girlfriend, and not only that, we took a lot of pictures(to welcome us to the neighborhood maybe?) Either-way, he didn’t mentioned a discount for story telling tolerance…

Very relaxing ambiance on a weeknight. Great wine selection and craft beers. Founders breakfast stout is a solid choice for the stout beer lovers. My friend had the rioja red wine and was very happy. Will update when I try the food.

This is by far my favorite bar in Williamsburg. Their wine list is extensive and has really interesting selections that you don’t typically see on menus, the food is really well done(I love their sliders and their cheese plate is the best. And they have burrata!), and they have a few great specialty cocktails(bourbon lemonade!). If you’re looking for a great vibe, good music, and a cool atmosphere, this is your spot. Perfect for a date and also awesome for a night out with friends or a birthday party. If you’re looking for one of the gross, douchy, pretend dive bars that seem to have taken over Williamsburg, head down the street to Skinny Dennis.

This is a really nice place but empty on a Saturday night when I stumbled in. The ambiance is nice, great wine selection, enough snacks on the menu but something is missing. People. Not sure what to recommend to make more people want to come in except maybe change the music and liven up the place a bit.

Cute spot in Williamsburg. I like the fact that they serve popcorn with bay seasoning. I wish they had a bigger selection of sparkling wines that’s all. But this is a nice cozy place. I recommend it.

I had a preprandial xa at Sort Of Wine Bar, and a post-theater pinot at Woodul just across the street, and found a ~70% overlap in offerings. The N4th wine bar-off, below: Romance factor: Where Woodhul’s ambiance is slightly bustling, Sort Of’s is definitively«intimate». Advantage: Somewhat. For groups: Woodul wins. Groups of 3, 5, 7+ can sit and sip around one of several bar tables. For food: Elsewhere. SO’s cheese and charcuterie plates are more more presenting and more palatable, but less substantial than Woodhul’s sandwiches and small bites. Get your grub at one of a billion neighboring destination restaurants instead. For snacks: Woodhul. Free popcorn FTW. For«the wine list»: Woodhul, by a nose. The menu is a little longer, but truthfully neither bar is for buffs(I doubt there’s a sommelier on the block); hit up Brooklyn Winery or Oenology instead if you’re an aficionado. This is a social bar.
