Food was good here until an incident that made me sick of Tengu. They gave me a Boston roll with soil in it! They apparently didn’t get rid of the soil from the lettuce or something in the roll and I ate it… The worst part is that I ate it because I didn’t see it since it was flipped over so I couldn’t see the other side of the roll… Disappointed and I pretty much won’t come back.

Disgusting. I ordered the first time on Sunday because all my usual places on Seamless we no longer available. I got the Spicy Pork Ramen and Spicy Basil rice. Neither was actually spicy and the rice was bland. The pork for the ramen sucked. I would have actually ordered the ramen again if i was desperate but I got horrible food poisoning that night that I missed work the next day. So clearly I will not be back.

I like the spicy sashimi salad. Not a lot of fish but i think its enough. I would get a handroll or two to go with it since its only $ 2 – 3 bucks each. Pasta is good too. The steak pasta is good

Very slow device and mediocre food. The interior is slowly falling apart and the exterior down grab any attention from potential customers. Very boring place overall

Had the spicy pork ramen, edamame, and hot sake. All very good and the place is super affordable! The servers were friendly and quick. There were a lot of children with their parents so it was a bit loud, but it was only that one time. The place is clean and comfortable. Will definitely be coming back soon.

I live nearby. Tried a few appetizers for lunch. Pretty good miso soup. The salmon skin salad was plentiful, fresh and tasty. The fried tofu can use better dipping sauce. A little too bland. I know tofu is bland but I can usually get a. Nice soy or ginger sauce for dipping. Will Try again. Good prices and service.

Haven’t been here for years, but decided to stop by with a friend after seeing a promo sign for $ 2 hand rolls. I thought that it would be pretty limited selection at that price and I was right, but the ones we got were pretty good! They had some selections at $ 3 and more at normal price, but we ordered entrees also. Friend had the beef steak pasta and I had a spicy tonkatsu ramen, and we enjoyed our dishes. Portions were filling and prices felt fair. Service was good, and the remodel(haven’t been here in years after all), made the décor very nice if you were to come with friends or a date. Will likely be back here sometime soon

It is a great place for friends to sit down for a talk. I always come here with my friends. Its also convenient because it’s across the street from kareoke. So when people are done singing and they’re are hungry. Just think about tengu! I love their lobster soup and salmon/steak white cream pasta. The staffs are very nice. They come refill our tea or water every once in awhile. The seatings are perfect for big groups of people.

This place is extremely slow. Took them 45 mins to finish the food… The service is horrible. The waiter doesn’t know what he is doing. He is always confused. The food isn’t that great too. Fish is not too fresh. They are charging too much for this kind of food and service.

I only ordered the pasta dishes cos’ too be honest, all their rice dishes were waaaaay too dry. The salmon, pork chop, and beef are either too dry or cooked. The sushi is pretty alright; I forgot what rolls I got but I remember them bein alright. In addition, the pastas are extra saucy. Don’t get fooled when the menu says«light sauce». It was hella good tho

PRO: I have been going to this location for MANY years. They have changed management and restaurant names at least twice. BUTTTTT– this current Sushi spot is the best it’s ever been. The food is great(try some oysters with ginger, good Lord yasssssss), and their waiters are attentive and polite. I always look forward to coming here for some lunch/dinner/snack. I tried to branch out the last time I went and tried their Pumpkin Lobster bisque… OHMYGOD. JUSTOHMYGOD. Yes. Definitely worth the try. CONS: I have also ordered for both pick up and for delivery. I think their in person experience is better. They seem to be great at pick up(super quick), but I think their delivery could improve at least a little. Maybe make it faster, and actually deliver the food to the customer directly. Do not call them, as if they should come out into the street and grab it from your car :). Verdict: Will go again!

The food was 4 stars and the service was 2 stars. Ordered delivery. I work only 10 blocks down and it took an hour and 15 minutes for miso soup and 2 rolls. I was called Bc they don’t have brown rice, which was fine whatever it’s a small meal for myself. Then I was called after an hour and fifteen minutes that they were here but couldn’t find parking so I would have to come down to get it. I go down and outside(where it’s sprinkling rain) and no one is there to meet me. I call the guy and then I see him get out of his car. Just frustrated at the amount of time it took for such a small order. The sushi was nothing to rave about, but wasn’t bad.

They have $ 1 sushi and $ 2 hand rolls everyday all day ! Need I say more ? Hubby and I shared some dollar rolls and the spicy tuna hand roll and salmon avocado hand roll which were all fresh. The valentine special roll was tasty and so was the tuna and avocado roll. The tuna was especially good because it didn’t leave that fishy taste in your mouth . We also had the spicy pork belly ramen soup which was spicy but a good spicy. It had bok Choy in it which was weird but a delightful addition to traditional ramen Overall great sushi and ramen when you are craving it and great for the price.

Yummy food and good prices, came here for my birthday with friends and we all enjoyed it. Sushi was fresh and came out fairly quick. I ordered salmon teriyaki, as well as a salmon roll and an eel avocado roll, and 2 hand rolls. It was all so good! I couldn’t finish all of it however. Salad was standard. Boyfriend got the salmon and cheese pasta thing, which was interesting lol. Everything tasted good and was for a decent price, and they have a special menu they give you for $ 1-$ 2 per sushi or hand roll. I will come back if I am in the area again.

Over the years I have seen this restaurant transform from one sushi shop to another. However until one of my friends told me about their new food, little would I have given Tengu another chance. It may be one of the best ramen places for its price point in all of NYC. Where else can you get a flavorful broth with lots of ingredients in it for around $ 6 – 7? I would say nowhere. I have tried other ramen joints such as Minca and Toto Ramen and none of them can really compare to what I have tried here. The broth is a nice pig bone broth for the spicy pork ramen with not too much oil but also a tasty favor. I would love to come to this place for lunch everyday if I could. The sushi here is okay. Nothing extra special. THERAMENISGREATESPDURINGLUNCHSPECIALTIME!

This place seems pretty big for deliveries and take out. It’s a shame cause in my first visit it was quite enjoyable and relaxing. I ordered the spicy pork belly Ramen and my gf ordered the grilled pork chop Ramen. Both were great that includes a slightly runny boiled egg that complemented the broth well. Sushi was pretty awesome too. Though they did forget to add the shirataki noodles but it’s no biggie.

I usually order take out from this restaurant when I am craving sushi or ramen at night. Compared to other«japanese» restaurants around this neighborhood, I consider this my go to spot when I am craving japanese food but too lazy to travel somewhere else. The interior of this restaurant is pretty well kept. They have nice booths for larger parties and smaller tables for a more intimate group. The price for this restaurant is relatively decent for the neighborhood, but a little more expensive than other places in brooklyn. The ramen dishes are pretty good here(considering its from Brooklyn). I would highly recommend the pork belly ramen as they have decent portions of meat, ramen noodles and soup. I even ordered the ramen for take out once and it was neatly packed, with no spills and still arrived hot(and I live a good 3 avenues away). The sushi also taste great and might I add, fresh. The cut of the fish is good, not too thin and not too thick. The rolls are a little pricer than other japanese restaurants in brooklyn, but the specialty rolls are worth the price. I also highly recommend the sashimi salad, which is a mix of tuna, salmon, and other sashimi in their special salad dressing and fills you up quickly. Ordering take out from this place is almost as good as eating there. All friendly and attentive staffs and pretty fast service. Overall, 4⁄5 and would highly recommend trying if you are in this neighborhood.

For the only Japanese restaurant around here, I would come back more often, mostly for their soup noodles. This place has been here a while and I was always tempted to come, but never did with all the different mixed reviews. Finally decided on the place and came this past Friday for a birthday dinner. It was around 8 o’clock and only 2 other groups were seated. Oh well, less hassle of waiting, especially with the 2 monsters that tend to run around, ugh. A friendly tip for parents, if your little one is as small as mine, 17 months old, the highchairs aren’t tall enough for their tables. Karen had to eat while pushing herself up, her chin would touch the table when actually sitting. The people that helped us that night were all very patient, both with the kids, and the troubled bro-in-law that always asks for something every 2 minutes. Even I get annoyed every time we dine with him. Wish he would ask the poor guy all at once instead of making him going back and forth so often. Food, unexpectedly pretty good! The green tea soba actually caught me by surprised, since I have never seen it before. Very mild green tea flavor, and the color of it made the dish pop. I had the Braised Pork Tonkatsu, came with the braised pork, half an egg, bean sprouts, and all the usual toppings that comes with ramen. The noodles sits in a big bowl in a rich pork flavored broth. Where should I start with the braised pork? Fatty, melted in my mouth, juicy goodness. It’s a big bowl guys, so hold off on the starters. OH wait! Have you ever seen a sesame grinder? Not me. Gosh, I went crazy on that fresh cracked sesame on my noodles. We had other dishes, too, like the xo fried rice, some hand rolls, a baked pasta dish, 2 appetizers, and a sizzling chicken plate with black bean sauce. All looked tasty, sadly I did not have a chance to taste other than a California roll. Had to feed the kids before feeding my own self, and by the time I’m ready to chow, all the food is basically gone, BOO! Only moms would know. Besides leaving stuffed, also left with a happy wallet. All the food we ordered, we did not expect to pay only a little over a 100 bucks, place has a reasonably priced menu. Definitely coming back with a even bigger appetite to try everything else.
