I work around the corner so I’m here about once a week. I always get a shawarma in a laffa because it is really good.

Outstanding shawarma. I didn’t give it 5 stars because there were a few menu items that weren’t available. My son wanted the soup or a hot dog but neither were apparently available. Other than that, it was excellent. Lafas were soft, the shawarma had a nice spice, and the people who worked there were very nice.

I was expecting better food. The place itself is clean and nice atmosphere. The food was not that good tho.

I have had a slight change of heart and decided to be a little kinder. I had another falafel craving a few weeks ago and caved by going to Shwarma Ave again. It is convenient and very close by so… Anyway, the service has improved slightly and although the falafel wasn’t wonderful, it was definitely adequate and good enough for a late night craving. The guy assembling it still has issues with placing salads and the balls inside, so it will fall apart on you. Just don’t go with a date so they don’t see you with your sandwich down your top and all is good.

I came here tonight to get a few orders and was told that it’s going to be a very long wait… more like we can’t serve you now. Then they should close for a private party

You want Israel? Here, you got Israel. Try the chetz-chetzi(half-half) shawarama and schnitzel in a laffa. you got the fresh salads and sit down and eat a-la-kefak in this nice look fast-food joint.

Best shawarma in town. The meat is always tender, they don’t put any fat in the mix unless u ask for it. The spices are just right. If you don’t Luke shawarma you can get other things as well so they offer a variety. But aside from the shawarma that brings me back all the time is the salad bar where you can get to taste so many different Israeli goodness. Always fresh, clean and consistantly tasety

Really yummy shawarma! Great place for a quick delicious lunch or dinner. Everything on the menu looks good but shawarma was definitely the best I’ve had in a long time.

One word… Disgusting. Fries all dried up and cold — both times we went there. Rice and beans — Yuck! They used instant rice, they apparently dont know how to make real rice. and the beans had a watered down flavor, no real flavor. Maybe they got cheap on tomato paste. They were so bland. Tasted like crap basically. It even smelled bad. The falafel smelled funny, but at least is a little better than Olympic pitas falafel ball recipe. My boyfriend ate the shawarma the first time we went and it was not even recognizably shawarma. He couldn’t finish it and he usually finishes his food when he’s hungry, even when it’s not the best tasting. So tonight we ordered the falafel instead of the shawarma, and wow it was… just edible… I was hungry, but this food is not appetizing. The place itself is dirty with things on the floor. My friends told me not to go here, but its so close to our house and we were starving after work and wanted to mix up our food choice. We usually get a rotation of pizza time, burgers bar, Hunan, substational(yes even subsational is better than this place– well, at least subsationals crispy chicken sandwich is good, I don’t vouch for their other food) and we cook when we have the energy. Tonight was one of those nights we were tired and just wanted food. We went in, ordered and hoped for the best, although the way the place looks and the food looks is just not aesthetic… But alas… We wanted to give you a chance shawarma ave. we spent 24 $ at this place and it was a huge waste of our money because they gave us bad food, if they want to see what good food looks like they should go eat a meal at burgers bar. Restaurant Impossible’s Robert IRvine would be disgusted with this place. The food isn’t fresh and flavorless. Shawarma ave, please take this criticism and put in some work to make your restaurant better. Right now it’s a joke, and I’m not the only person who thinks this, I know many Israelis in Brooklyn who would never even step foot in your establishment. Don’t advertise that you sell ‘authentic delicious Israeli food’ because what you offer is far from that. If you want to see what authentic Israeli cooking looks like come to my grandmas kitchen and my mothers kitchen. You disgrace the reputation of Israeli food and heritage. Please heed this message and stop ripping people off and serving bad food. WAKEUP. Yalla.

I’ve gone to this establishment several times in the past due to lack of a better, closer falafel place. The two men behind the counter were nice and polite, always helpful. The falafel pita was always decent. I’ve never eaten in because the place is always a mess. This was the situation the last time I came here which could’ve been a couple months ago. I went here today and I was shocked to see how things have changed, and how indeed they can go worse. The falafel was uncooked and the man preparing the falafel was sloppy and mediocre with serving. The floors were dirty as were the tables and I hated the atmosphere entirely. Usually my food would be nicely arranged in a brown bag with the side salad, whereas these new employees threw the contents in a black plastic bag and handed it to me without a word. I certainly am never coming back here ever again.

Shwarma was good though the place did not have the cleanest feel to it. I’d come again though.

I drive by this spot everyday, but have never gone in. Last night I picked up a shawarma pita and falafel w/hummus. 20 minutes after eating, I puked and am still having some food poisoning symptoms. This is actually my first Unilocal post and I felt so compelled to write this review because this is a huge deal for me, as I’ve been known to have a stomach of steel, but this place took me down. I will have to fight the gag reflex every time I drive past this place on my way home.

They’re great! Simple, good, and good service. And they don’t skimp on the goods. My only complaint is that the fried eggplant gets eaten up so quick they need to be more on top of replacing it. Also, a few more salad choices would really set me above any other schawarma joint.

Their combo deal is pretty sweet — a shawarma sandwich, fries, and a drink for $ 13.50. The shawarma is not the best in town but its pretty decent.
