Great spot. Love the curry goat and hands down my favorite sorrel in the city. Super clean, polite, and welcoming.

Goat curry was excellent, $ 10 includes rice and beans and mixed veggies. Was enough for 2 meals. Hole in the wall joint. THEPATTIES. Service was warm and welcoming, definitely will be back!

My favorite place in the neighborhood. Love the jerk chicken and the curries. Friendly staff, very clean, and room to sit down comfortably with friends.

I eat here at least a couple of times a week, and it hasn’t failed me yet! Service is great, owner is very nice, and the food is amazing. Great little neighborhood spot. Go there if you’re in the area!

This is the second time I have this restaurant a chance. The first time the food was ok nothing really great but they didn’t have any macaroni and cheese. Just today I placed an order for delivery and after an hour of no response called back to see where my food was. That’s when the said«oh the food had to be $ 10 for delivery». I ASKEDTHEMAN when I made he call how much it was and he said don’t worry. Extremely unprofessional. I will not be supporting that establishment any more.

I didn’t think that Jamaican food could be so poorly made by the people who are from Jamaica. We walk in the smell is pretty good, the restaurant looks nice and clean and the staff friendly. So I am thinking the food will reflect what I am seeing around me. We ordered the stew chicken, jerk chicken, macaroni pie and a side of cabbage –simple … –THEMACARONIPIE??? Unseasoned! If you like a slab of hard cheese with some pasta underneath then that’s the choice for you no creaminess what-so-ever.(and there was a piece of hair in it) –The side of cabbage all canned vegetables — stew chicken no flavor ! –jerk chicken all heat no flavor ! The only thing I semi enjoyed was the rice and peas but then again who can’t make that? Never wrote a review on Unilocal but I had to say something about this place it’s crazy how there are good reviews on the place. Are we taking about the same place? NEVERGOINGBACKEVER

I love Rowes. I tend to always order the same thing, the chicken Roti. It is a delicious saucy curry chicken with dark meat(not boneless), potatoes and carrots etc inside a roti shell.(If you’ve never had Roti, it looks like a burrito but the wrap is made from chickpeas). I highly recommend trying one. It’s a large satisfying meal. When they are out of roti I order a plate with the same curry chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. Also delicious.

Mac and cheese had a yummy taste to it, not the best I’ve ever had but I would recommend. The curry chicken was delicious I loved how well the sauce was seasoned. I will definitely be back for more because the prices are awesome as well!

I was very disappointed today. I ordered Chicken Roti, I couldn’t eat it. First it was to much salt the curry had a strange taste to it and the chicken was a stringy mess. It was so bad that I threw it away. My friend threw his out as well. First time I ordered something from Rowes that I couldn’t eat. That was money wasted. Will not make this mistake again!

I frequent here often because I love Jamaican food and Mr Rowe’s hospitality and winning smile is second to none. I ordered food here for corporate events and I stop by for lunch(ox tails, fried fish, sorrell). Everything arrives hot, well prepared, and on time. I once, asked that they do not add onions to the macaroni and cheese, that request was greeted with a smile. And delivery is free. Mac and cheese is creamy and cheesey like grandma’s seriously Kraft Foods should take notes from Mr.Rowe. I order mac and cheese for each holiday meal and for social events for my son’s Boy Scout Troop dinners and its always a hit. The mini beef patties and chicken patties are light, flakey, and seasoned with Caribbean spice and everything nice. The five star rating is that Mr. Rowe goes the extra mile. You can actually hear his smile thru the phone. He promptly returns phone calls, answers emails, and sometimes deliver the food himself, he gets the whole great customer service model… spending your hard earned money should be a worth while experience… can we go for pleasurable? You will not go wrong by allowing Rowe’s Restaurant to cater your next event or maybe just some lunch. Oh and beware the ox tails are tender, lean, and highly addictive. Last word. $ 5.00 lunch specials. Sorrell please get the sorrell.

Local, neighborhood, gem. If you like Jamaican food, you should really try Rowe’s. You may bump into the owner, he is really nice and welcoming. It’s almost like a large family kitchen placed in a restaurant — that is how homemade the food is. Plus, the food is very affordable, you get huge portions, they accept credit cards AND deliver. I LOVE the shrimp roti or the veggie roti. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because you never know if they are able to make the roti dishes. It all depends on if the cook is available, etc… since it has to be cooked fresh and takes about 15 minutes. Also, sometimes they run out of ingredients or dishes(because it’s a local fave). It’s a double edged sword though, because I really appreciate the fact that it is local and family-run. Favorites: Veggie Patty, Shrimp or Vegi Roti [My spouse loves the jerk chicken w/plantains — he gets it extra spicy].

I would give more stars but I can’t. I went in for the red pea soup. I love red pea, I eat it everyday from all different west Indian restaurants. So I clearly saw the price for a small was 3.50 and the lady charged me 3.80. I didn’t say anything because why would she want to cheat me for 30 cent! Lol I won’t be going back because it’s the principle. And if your employees are crooks then the business is as well to me in my eyes. If your going to cheat someone let it at least be for a large amount of money! I’ll stick to Ali’s and silver krust. Even though they are a further distance. At least their honest.

I ordered for delivery for the first time today, and I must say that I’m definitely a fan. I would give Rowe’s a 5, if not for the unfriendly delivery man. He called to ask what my address was, then rudely and irritatedly said, «Fine, I’m outside now.» Before I could say my thanks, he hung up on me. When my partner went to get the food, the delivery man just shoved the bag into his hands. On the other hand, the lady I spoke to on the phone was very sweet and kind. My partner likes to ask for a lot of extras on his jerk chicken plate: oxtail gravy on the rice, extra spicy, and extra jerk sauce. She was really patient with my order. They charge for tax, so keep that in mind. Our food came quickly, and as other reviewers have mentioned, the portions are huge. The extra jerk sauce came in a little container, so that’s definitely a plus for me.(Have you ever tried asking for extra jerk sauce? WAYTOOMANY restaurants say«No, sorry.» Super frustrating!) The meat was tender and juicy, the rice was cooked to perfection, and the sides were just enough. Will order again from them soon!

I can’t really speak for the jerk here and I know it’s a large measure of a good Jamaican spot but I’m a fan of the oxtail and other dishes. They used to take card over the phone but I guess they had either some fraud with customers(are a lot of scam artists in the mood for jerk?) or the workers. Either way it’s a slight let down since most Jamaican spots do cash only so this was a bonus for them. The service is always friendly although the delivery takes a bit longer than hoped. I’m a fan of the oxtail, rice and peas and sorrel. They have good patties as well. I’ve seen the fish dishes before and excited to try. Seems fresh and smells very well seasoned with restraint though.

Great for lunch. Food is always fresh. They tend to run out of options later in the evenings. Best time is lunch time. They have smaller lunch size portions and specials. I could eat rice with gravy, mac & cheese and salad and be full. Sometimes I get the veggie patties as well. Grab and go kinda of place.

Huge portions for very cheap, the way it should be. Small jerk chicken, chicken roti and a side of okra cost $ 20 between 2 people, but we could have split any one dish and still been full. House lemonade is delicious — I think they put rosewater in it.

Average good Jamaican stewed meats, but usually inconsistent. For example, if you’re getting a curry chicken roti, your chicken may be amazing but your roti w/chickpeas will be as dry as your granny’s heels. Also, terrible patties. I would’ve given them more stars had they not sold those awful things.

Yes! I love their soy chunks with red beans and rice. So good! It’s a great vegetarian meal when you’re stuck inside and don’t want to order pizza again. I also got their lemon ginger juice, which is so fantastic, I was feeling a bit ill and it cleared me right up. The carrot cake is pretty decent too, but it’s more like carrot bread — didn’t know that before. I like how close it is to my apt and the quality of the food, thanks again.
