The Bush Doctor Juice Bar

Hour and 30 minutes for delivery. It doesn’t make sense unless you guys go to the farms and forage your own vegetables and fruits to make the damn mediocre smoothies or you make them with your freaking eyes closed. Awful. NEVER AGAIN.

Smoothies are fantastic. The «Fruit Bomb» smoothie is the … you know. And the prices are beyond reasonable.
Such a great neighborhood staple. Thanks to The Bush Doctor for keeping my blood sugar stable as I adjust to the neighborhood and settle in.

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. I ordered at 4:40, food was delivered at 6:30. I was so hangry. Otherwise food and smoothies are fine, nothing spectacular.

If you want to wait 2 hours for your food, order from this place! Ordered at 1:47pm, food arrived at 3:41pm… RIDICULOUS. Also, they have a policy according to the woman who delivered my food– that they «don’t go up into the buildings.» So you have to retrieve your food from outside.
All in all– smoothie was good. Didn’t care for the veggie burger. Won’t waste my time on this place ever again. Happy eating!
UPDATE: appreciate response and reasoning as to why you can’t go inside the building– however 2 hours for a smoothie and a veggie burger isn’t worth it. Thank you though!

Favorite place in Bed-​Stuy to get healthy, reasonably cheap food. Delicious coffee & quite a selection of smoothies & juices. The service is great, too. It’s a bummer that their hours are pretty limited, though. Get the ginger coffee and try their veggie burger.

Just ordered from here for the first time. I always drive past but never had the chance to stop.
From the customer service voice of the lady who called to confirm my address to the lady (might be the same one) who actually brought the food. She was very friendly.
My food was perfectly labeled and taped.
My only qualm is that the brownie was hard and cold, I prefer my pastries unrefridgerated as you can tell if they are fresher that way (again personal preference)
All in all I would order again.

I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews. I’ve ordered delivery and been in a few times. The food is not only good but one of the healthier options around. Restaurants aren’t perfect all the time and I would never expect them to be otherwise I couldn’t eat anywhere. I just ordered the salmon burger for the first time at it is delicious. For me, the service and food from the bush doctor has been really consistent.

I said no goddamn lettuce on my turkey burger and there is EXTRA lettuce. It’s also in a wrap instead of actual bread. It’s a tiny menu, how do they mess it up so badly?

Salmon burger & acai smoothie = EXCELLENT, staff super friendly, delivers! Can’t wait to go back and try more.

Who knew this little health-​gem was hidden in Bed-​Stuy? I, for one, am glad I now know it’s here!
I was initially enticed in from the street, by a sign outside that said «we make our own ginger beer!». Man, I love me some ginger beer.
Upon walking on in, I was greeted very hospitably by the owner (I think?), and was told that not only could I have my fresh ginger beer, I was also getting a free soft pretzel with my drink! Score to the max.
The ginger beer itself (which I tasted beforehand, without sugar, and immediately told the staff member making my drink to add it in large amounts) was more like ginger juice, as it wasn’t carbonated as is the ginger beer I had in mind. Nevertheless, it was freshly made, as promised, delicious, and nutritious. Also, at $ 4.90 for a big glass, it didn’t break the bank. After all, with the free pretzel, it stacked up to be a pretty substantial snack for less.
The rest of the juices/​smoothies and food items look good, too. Will definitely be stopping on in again before leaving Bed-​Stuy. Thanks for the kindness and the healthy juice, Bush Doctor!

This gem has won my heart forever. The quality of ownership/​staff and menu is flat out my favorite place to go. I’ve felt healthier than ever since I’ve discovered this operation.
5+ stars across the board.

I can always find pretty good smoothie places or make them myself but cannot seem to luck out at juice spots. Is it too much to ask for healthy and yummy? I hate that ashy protein feel in some juice drinks or places that give me luke warm juice like a child.
I was actually just walking by here with a friend and we tried it on a whim. The huge homemade ginger beer helped too. I’m addicted to ginger and add it to most of my drinks and eat it in most Asian foods I eat.
We decided to share a drink though and since my friend isn’t a ginger fan (why are we friends…) we got something else that wasn’t 100% ginger. It had cranberry, ginger and like 2 – 3 more ingredients I forgot.
Some places are soft with their ginger like an accent or note. Not here! Another customer and I both asked could they tame it a bit due to the throat burning which they did happily free of charge. So be warned if you want to save yourself the chocking on ginger feeling. The adjusted drink was great though. Like candy without the syrupy sweetness. Adult healthy candy.
The lady there gave us free samples too of «brother man» drink. Delicious! It lacked that ashy nasty flavor but had lots of protein. Yes!
I will come back probably for a salmon burger and a brother man drink. My only aversion is the «bush doctor» thing. I thought since the logo was a bush in a doctor coat it was like natural medicine not «bush doctor» as in Wicca, witchcraft stuff. I’m fine with herbal medicine but not really the witch brew theme drink and rack of books on Gods, Wicca, etc. Nothing is pushed on you though which is good.

I was walking around this part of Bestuy and discovered the bush doctor. Well I saw the word juices outside and the weather was calling for one so I decided to check it out. The lady is really nice and the prices for juices are great. Definitely worth the stop. The only bad thing is if there is 2 or more people ahead of you, you may be there for a WHILE.

Been here a few weeks ago and the obvious thing is the price. I paid 6 bucks and change for a smoothie that was mediocre and because I wanted to customize it with 1 extra fruit it was extra– thats fine but when the guy made the smoothie there was about 4 ounces left in the blender, instead of giving me a bigger cup he just left it in the blender and gave me a small cup, I PAID FOR THAT! but instead of arguing I tasted the smoothie, it was Meh at best. I could have gotten 2 Naked smoothies from the bodega for that. Will not be returning here.

Incredible! I just finished their salmon burger and I think I now know what paradise tastes like. This is honestly one of the best tastes I have ever experienced. It’s quite filling and halfway through I thought about saving some for later… but I couldn’t stop eating. It was So. Amazing.
The salmon had the perfect amount of softness, definitely the right amount moisture, and there were so many veggies!!! You definitely get your moneys worth in veggies, (fresh veggies!) relative to those three leaves of spinach and one tomato that other places give. The sauce tastes like honey mustard but less thick and infinitely better. I will say though, with all the veggies, it got pretty messy for me. But I was too absorbed in its deliciousness to care.
I forgot to ask his name, but the guy working was super nice too. I got the sense that, if I had had the energy to ask more questions, he would have a lot of useful information to share.

All of the reviews read here pretty much sum up Bush Doctor. Juices are great, Tiecha and her crew are great.
It’s for health, wellness and everything in between. The food is great also. Everything is fresh and organic — and most important it’s delicious.

It took me a year to step foot inside this place. Why? It’s called The Bush Doctor! (Google it) And, their mascot is absolutely FRIGHTENING. It is such a turnoff.
Nothing about going to a «bush doctor» for fresh juice/​smoothies, or that weird bug/​alien/​thing in a doctor’s coat makes me think fresh juice/​smoothies. The whole thing makes me think it’s a front for a weed spot.
Seriously — I don’t know how they’ve managed to stay open this long.
I purchased a drink — I forget the name. It was some kind of ginger, Chinese herb tonic concoction. Eh.
Glad I own a Vita-​Mix.
Inside, they can’t decide if they’re a juice bar, jewelry store, mini bodega. A lot of mom & pop stores are becoming «variety» stores, but if I’m going to a juice bar, I want juice. Sandwiches and pastries are fine, but the rest of the store screams MESS!
