1 star is strictly for the CONVENIENCE of this establishment. Unfortunately there are not many options in the immediate area for«home cooked» food, so I find myself forcibly going here quite a bit. Service: «0 Stars» Typical, rude, ghetto behavior. The ladies who work here are extremely unprofessional. They have no respect for their job; as they get attitudes at the drop of a dime and are quick to openly argue with a customer, without getting repromanded. Fix your attitudes ladies! The customers don’t work for you, you work for the customers. Without them, you wouldn’t have a job. Aside from that, this place is good for you if you want home cooked food at a bang for your buck and need a late night fix. The establishment is always clean, you get hearty portions, the food is nicely presented and you are able to pick which pieces of chicken you want. However on the flip side, as for the taste… the patties are nothing to discuss, the chicken is usually somewhat moist but very noticeably salty, as is the soup. I’ve complained to them about the saltiness of the food and was brushed off with a sarcastic laugh. All in all, I would suggest rubbing a few more pennies together and going to Smokey Island Grill on Fulton. You get more of a variety and they are also conviniently opened late.

Strolling in my childhood neighborhood, much has changed, but l stumbled on this neighborhood gem on my way to the last day of BAM Dance Africa and street fair. I ordered the small meal to go($ 6) of Boneless Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas w/ripe Plantain. I would have you view a pic of the food, but l woofed it down! Delicious, tasty and economical… My repeat visit will definitely be a large order, most definitely! ! When in «Sty», please patronize this hidden gem

Passed by this place while walking in neighborhood yesterday. Went there for lunch today and the jerk chicken is the best I’ve ever had that I felt compelled to post on Unilocal.Only my 2nd time posting. Mac and Cheese good too. Why go to a fast food place like McDonald’s when you can eat very well here for the same price?

So glad I stopped in on the way home from work. Wings — AWESOME Jerk Chicken — SUPERTASTY Mac ‘n Cheese– YUM Jerk Sauce — PERFECT I had been passing Pattie Hut by for a couple weeks since their opening and finally crossed the street to get some dinner. Couldn’t be happier that I did. The place was closing up so the generous portions noted in other reviews only grew in size tonight. Everyone in the place was incredibly friendly, the place was immaculately clean, and dinner was delightful. I haven’t had a ton of Caribbean food to compare it to but I will definitely be back at the Pattie Hut sooner than later!

Really good food! Awesome portions. Just realized today that even though the name suggests it I’ve never had or even seen a patty there. This will not stop me from going. Very much along the lines of your typical West Indian restaurant, huge portions for low costs. For $ 9 I can share a large with my children and we will all be satisfied. My kids favorite dish: bbq chicken, peas and rice with curry chicken gravy(extra), cabbage and plantain. I will tell them you all said thank you now!

Caribbean Soul food heaven! This is definitely one of those go-to spots in the neighborhood when you’re craving amazingly delicious slow cook meats, are too tired to cook, and/or too tight on cash for expensive dinner. I’ve had the curried goat and chicken, and both were excellent. The small portion($ 5 – 6) is more than enough to fill one person, comes with rice and beans and a veggie(usually cabbage), and you can ask for some extra curry juice on the side! The meat is fall-off-the-bone delicious, and will have you craving it every time you walk past this place on Nostrand en route or coming from the A/C train… Trust me! The ox tails and the jerk chicken also look incredible. Haven’t had the patties yet! The side dishes tend to look like they’ve been sitting around awhile(especially the Mac and cheese), but it’s also been somewhat late most times when I’ve ventured in. Worth the try and well worth the money, for sure!

My partner and I come here atleast three or more times a week as we finish work late so don’t have the time to cook dinner. Great for take away as they only have two tables inside. The jerk chicken is to die for and it’s so cheap!!! You can also have rice and pick any gravy or curry sauce you like! The best Jamaican I’ve ever had!

My second time in. Food is on point. If I don’t feel like cooking I come in here for some serious comfort eats. Their oxtails are so damn good. Today I am having jerk pork. Lawwwwd mercy! Not a lot of seating but great for takeout.

This is the spot. They make some great patties. And the patties aren’t really spicy. So there’s no need to request mild or spicy because they’re all the same lol. I’ve had oxtails, curry chicken, Mac pie, plaintains from this spot and it’s all been pretty good. The curry chicken wasn’t the best but idk, maybe it was just that day. If you want a quick pattie to go, I’d recommend this spot. $ 1.75. Can’t beat that.

I just have to say this restaurant is amazing. The Jerk Chicken is AMAZING(especially with extra jerk sauce). The large portion is enough for TWO meals and they’re FRIENDLY! Anytime I am anywhere near Pattie Hut, I am stopping by.

The food is GREAT !! Jerk chicken with curry chicken gravy and jerk sauce is definitely my favorite here. The price is great and one large order is more than enough for 2. I would recommend this place

I like the Pattie Hut and have been here a couple of times. The food is very good; I usually order the tilapia with rice and peas and cabbage for me and my son. The staff is cool but I wish the lady behind the counter that serves the food is a bit more enthusiastic but hopefully she gets it together. I guess Ma’s Fish and Chips have competition, lol.

Pattie Hut has fed me so many times ever since moving here, that I feel I owe them a good review. The place is clean, the food is good, tastes homemade, I’ve tried other places which serve similar food in the neighborhood and the food just seemed too old, here isn’t the case. Usually I order a small chicken plate. My favorite chicken is the BBQ and I usually get Mac and cheese instead of rice. Their beef patties are really good too better then the golden crust ones. Best budget lunch so far for quality and also for how much food you get.

The chicken here is so good! I love the BBQ and jerk chicken. They are super moist and flavorful with crispy skin. And it’s so cheap! I get take out here all the time.

A large jerk chicken: a huge portion of roasted chicken with as much jerk sauce as you’re feeling up for, plus rice with curry or gravy, and some veggies… and you’re on your way for $ 8.50 plus tax. Yes please. Seating is minimal, but the folks behind the counter are nice and will help you out with extra(or light) sauce. This isn’t fine dining, but is it tasty, quick, and cheap while you’re walking home from the subway after a long day at work? You betcha.

Pattie Hut is a cool little jamaican restaurant on Nostrand Ave. and Macon St. in Bedstuy, Brooklyn. The presentation of the food is always right and you can immediately see whats available for order. From jerk to bbq, baked chicken and ox tail Pattie Hut will not let you down or leave you hungry! Theres no friendly welcomes but they take careful care of your order and always offer additional sauce, salad or cabbage. Also dont miss out on the mac n cheese! Its an extra $ 3 but its def worth it!
