Decent Chinese food but nothing special. I got the general tso which was pleasantly not-greasy tasting(an issue I have with many Chinese food restaurants). However, the portion size was pretty small. My friend got the bok choy side which was delicious — I would definitely recommend this. It is expensive for the portion sizes though… would probably not come back.

One word– Mongolian beef The best delivery service in Williamsburg. Flavorful Chinese food and quick service. I probably order from here once a week. Is that healthy… it’s so good I can’t resist!

Was really craving some General Tso’s chicken to celebrate New Year’s Day and found all these rave reviews online, so went over. First of all, the place was inexplicably closed till 4pm. So I waited 40 minutes and returned only to have the rude manager/owner/whoever claim that they could not fulfill the order, I wanted. When I stated, they would lose a customer FOREVER, he made no attempt to accommodate me. It is well past time that owners and managers from other countries start understanding that in America, «the customer is always right» and every attempt needs to be made to retain the customers. This«who gives a f» attitude is untoward and out of place. So while the food may be decent — I don’t know, I couldn’t try it — I will never go back due to the crappy customer service.

Pretty good Chinese food for being in the neighborhood. As could be expected, the food is a little greasy, but overall its good Chinese take out. I would likely not dine in here, because if I was dining out I would not choose this, but it is good if you are in need of quick, easy, convenient take out Chinese.

Food is indeed tastier than most Chinese takeout places in the area, but nothing to write home about. Service is attentive, but obnoxious and uneducated about their own dishes. Prices also vary between their website and in-store menu, and overall are a bit high. Then again, this is Williamsburg, so maybe I shouldn’t expect affordable, friendly, tasty. I’m not sure I would seek out Red Bowl when the craving hits unless I was right outside, and wanted to spend the cash and deal with the circus behind the register.

Great service. I always order the«Chicken classic entrée» with broccoli and brown rice. The best part about these guys is that they have GLUTENFREEBROWNSAUCE! I never get tired of this delicious dish. Red bowl is also very clean. I recommend it.

The food here is a step up from your standard takeout fare. Last time I was here I ordered a wonton soup and General Tso lunch special. 8 $ for the lunch special is a pretty good deal. The wonton soup was a little bit salty but it was fresh and had cabbage in it which I enjoyed. The wontons had a wonderful chive taste. The General Tso chicken was actually spicy. I had to get my glass refilled with water a couple of times. It was cooked really well and wasn’t greasy at all. Red Bowl is pretty good but here’s some tips I would love to share with you guys based on my experience here: — take your order to go/call it in advance. I felt like I had to go beg for water on my hands and knees. I had to seat myself. Service at a restaurant should not feel like that. Pretty sure the owners son runs the front of the house. He’s a nice kid usually. I guess I got him on a bad day. — it is about 2 $ more than your average takeout place but their food is pretty good quality. For the first time I didn’t feel greasy eating Chinese food.

A clean Asian place with a selection of Chinese, Thai and other standard dishes. The pricing is really reasonable but I wouldn’t take a first date here if you’re trying to impress based on super authentic good or ambiance. The food and service is decent. I had summer rolls, sadly no option for shrimp or any other meat inside them, just vegetables and mostly rice noodles as filler. And pad Thai, the pad Thai sauce was a bit more on the saucy side than I was used to(compared to say Rhong Tiam) but the portion was good for $ 10(dinner). This place is a good option for larger groups if you’re not looking to break the bank.

Would definitely recommend for the tasty food, not so much for the lack of sparkling personality.

Friendly guys who served fast Chinese food, the sesame chicken was good and definitely worth the $ 9 that they charging for it. I would highly recommend this place for a fast Chinese food(pick up/delivery) wouldn’t recommend to stay for a date/family meal/official meeting. Enjoy!

My husband and I ate here last night. We were already on the L line, and intended to go to a restaurant that is, as it happens, no longer open.(We’re not in the neighborhood all that often.) We were also the kind of hungry that had crossed the grumpy line, and when we saw Red Bowl, we figured why not. The food ranged from okay to pretty good. I came in without expectations, and it neither exceeded nor fell below what I figured it might be. We started with an order of edamame. It was slightly undercooked. I had the mixed vegetables with tofu, which was delicious and perfectly cooked. I also had the fried ice cream, which was huge but kind of mediocre– way too much dough and not enough ice cream, topped off with gobs of whipped cream. Mr seemed to really enjoy his meal, so I’d say the highest point were the main courses. The service is not outstanding. I ordered a cocktail– I don’t recall the name– but it was supposed to be some sort of gin/seltzer water/mint/honey concoction. Now, I drink cocktails a lot, at all sorts of places. I have friends who have written cocktail recipe/history books, and who are high end bartenders. I know a good cocktail. This was not a good cocktail. It tasted funny. My husband tried it and reported that it tasted watery, like nothing. I very rarely complain about things at restaurants, and can count the number of times I have sent things back on one hand. But for $ 12, this needed to be better. A woman, who I’m assuming is the manager, came over to see what was wrong. She was nasty, and if I had dealt with any more than I had, this review would read very differently. When we explained that the cocktail was watery and tasted off, she wrinkled her nose and then tried to argue with me by pointing that that«well, it IS gin». Well, yes. I can read and I know my gin. I pointed out as politely as I could that I drink plenty of gin, and she asked if she could bring me a glass of wine. No apology, no offer to remake the drink or suggestion of a different cocktail, just a smirk and the assumption that I didn’t know what I was talking about because her bartender made a sub standard cocktail. I did get a glass of wine. I didn’t feel like chancing another unpleasant encounter. Our waiter was fine, nice enough. We came in with shopping bags, and they sat us at the table with the least amount of space to put our stuff, which was frustrating. It was already 8:45 or so, and the dining room was mostly empty. Would it have killed them to have found us a larger table, or one where there was enough space to put our things? We were in a corner, directly in front of the bar, and in an aisle where the delivery guy had to walk through several times. I would have liked to have moved– the whole front was open and it was a nice night, but quite frankly it wasn’t worth the effort. I can’t say I’d make an effort to return, even though our dinners were good. There are a ton of other restaurants within a three block radius, and for $ 76, I’d like to be treated better.

Okay so I’m very late on writing this(a month or two) but it’s worth it! My first time here was with another couple who said they knew a really great delicious spot in Brooklyn. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was awesome! What made my experience even better was the fact that the owner himself made it his business to sit down and chat with us! He was super personable and so freakin friendly! Hilarious guy! We also met his wife and daughter! What a great family! Anyway may sound stupid to some but I love when the owners interact with their customers! Makes the experience that much better!

My favorite delivery Chinese in Williamsburg. They are always quick and the food is yummy when you’re looking for standard Chinese comfort food. I especially love their cold noodles with sesame sauce. They’re much fresher than the standard takeout joint and far less greasy. Their dumplings are great too-it’s all about the sauce and theirs is great. If you are looking for something more hearty try one of the black pepper dishes. I’ve eaten in the restaurant once and it’s a great option for a quick meal if you’re out on the Bedford strip. I wouldn’t stay all night for drinks but solid spot to grab dinner pre– or post– bar hopping. Added bonus — they stay open pretty late if you need some grub to fend off a hangover.

The food here is disgusting and ridiculously overpriced. Ordered the beef and broccoli and a wonton soup for $ 17. What I got was something that barely resembled beef in a gelatinous brown sauce. The beef was both chewy and oddly soft. The place up the street is half the price and better than this dump. The wonton soup was ok(the only reason for star #2) Will not return.

This is where to go for high quality Chinese food, which you’ll be able to enjoy in a comfortable, nicely decorated environment. It’s almost never crowded to the point of being uncomfortable, in spite of being a small restaurant. The service is polite and fast. They have never gotten my order wrong or forgotten to check on me periodically throughout my meal. There are decent wines, beers, and cocktails here. Selections are limited, but you should be able to find something you like. They also have happy hour specials, a strong house pour, and fresh tasting Cosmopolitans. Prices are a bit higher than you may be used to paying when it comes to Chinese, but you get what you pay for. The food is excellent, and so are the portion sizes. I usually order the veggie fried rice, which has scrambled egg in it and is extremely flavorful. I also usually order the pepper steak, which does not skimp on meat portions and has a robust sauce. Their spicy beef is also great! I have brought friends here who have ordered various seafood dishes(I don’t eat seafood, so I’m relying on their analysis), and they have always left feeling satisfied about the quality of their food.

No thank you. The pork dumplings are overpriced and has a bad consistency. dough is too starchy and filling is some random pink meat/sesame cold noodles were not cold and was way too sweet/kudos on the General Tso chicken though, it was slightly crispy and spicy. Overall, the food is overpriced for the portions and lack of quality. I am fine with Americanized Chinese food(I’m ABC after all), but that doesn’t make up for the shortcomings of Red Bowl. Order from your local takeout joint instead.

I was in the mood for Thai and this was the first place I saw. Maybe I should have taken a few signs into consideration… Maybe the fact that they were too lazy to flip the opened/closed sign, perhaps the fact that they only had one customer sitting inside, or maybe that the floors were soaked from their dirty mop. I ordered an order of spring rolls and a chicken pad Thai. The 2 spring rolls were decent but very small for $ 4. They covered it in dried seaweed pieces which I would have preferred them to avoid or give me another spring roll or bigger spring rolls. The pad Thai was a decent sized but it was actually the most disgusting pad Thai I’ve ever eaten. They took their name a bit too serious because it was the first time I’ve ever had pad Thai come out RED. I might be tempted to try their Chinese food next time but their Pad Thai was a big disappointment.

I am strictly writing this review on delivery only. I have not actually gone in and experience a sit down dinner there yet. I ordered the Jade Fried Rice, Mongolia Beef and the TSeamed Pork dumplings. I must say I love dumplings but was very disappointed on the ones from here. I felt like they were too thick and was not something i would like. As for the Jade fried rice and Mongolia Beef I was a fan. Very good and tasty would definitely order this again. My little sister also like the rice so I must say that is something positive.

One of the worst Chinese restaurants I went in New York. It was good that two servers passed us chopsticks and paper napkins so fast. Sooo fast! That was funny. Food was meh. My crispy beef was too sweet. Other person ordered chow fun and I heard that was too salty.
