The cookies are good, they have vegan options, they have non gluten options, and they take orders for birthday cakes. i’ve had a good experience here and they are just up the block from transmitter park, a scenic location to sit with your munchy wares.

Got one of each of their cookies. I’m a cookie lover. I usually prefer crispy over chewy, and I’m not vegan nor gluten free, nor do I change my expectations if what I’m getting is vegan or gluten free so take this review with a grain of salt. Oatmeal cookies are my favorite, and Ovenly’s oat currant cookie was definitely good, but erred on the side of healthy, grainy, chewy bar rather than a buttery cookie that I like. The pistachio agave cookie was in the same vein– good, but moist, chewy, grainy– I really wish it was more crunchy nutty. Their molasses cookie was chewy, spicy and gingery, maybe slightly too much ginger, but it was good. Their salted chocolate chip was pretty good on the inside, but it seemed to have some sort of egg-like glaze over it that gave it a stale crunch– Maybe it wasn’t fresh? Sunday at 8am should have fresh cookies, right? I forgot the name but the pale cookie that looked like a cross between an almond cookie and a macaroon was unique– I couldn’t quite place the taste. It was a little sweet, light and crumbly– excellent texture, just how I like it. Though the flavor was unique, it was not memorable. The chocolate truffle cookie was rich, chocolaty, luscious– Excellent!!! The peanut butter cookie, although not particularly crunchy was amazing– maybe slightly spicy, slightly sweet, slightly salty, packed full of rich, natural peanut butter flavor. It was easily the best peanut butter cookie I’ve ever had. Overall, I wish to give Ovenly 3.5 stars but I’ve gotta round up. Most of their cookies are too chewy, lack nuts, and I don’t know what the problem was with the chocolate chip cookie I had. But the peanut butter cookie and the Chocolate truffle cookie are worth trying. I see one reviewer said Ovenly cookies are better than Levain Bakery’s. My response: absolutely not, you’ve gotta be kidding.

Best peanut butter cookies!!! OMG! So moist, and soft; lovely peanut butter flavor that isn’t too strong nor too light. It’s just right! Salt brings out all the yummy buttery flavors of the peanut butter, balancing the sweetness of this cookie. Perf.

This tiny gem of a shop is around the corner from my workplace, so it’s easy to pop in here for some coffee or dessert. I have to say the Seas salt and Chocolate Chip cookie is a genius idea! The ooey-gooey soft cookie combined with the sprinkling of coarse sea salt is delicious. The coffee is good too. This is a very small place, however it feels cozy and cute inside.

The salted chocolate chip cookie was okay — it does not hold up to Levain or Maman, or even the incredibly warm and delicious cookies that come from my office’s cafeteria, believe it or not. I blame it on the vegan aspects — why leave out butter, the greatest thing to happen to man? Anyway, the girl behind the counter was lovely, I think I drank their entire water cooler in many little refilled glasses, and I would absolutely given them another chance with a different cookie. The chocolate chip one was just average, but the sound of the peanut butter has me wanting to make a return trip.

Finally, I gave in and bought an Ovenly salted peanut butter cookie, but not from the Ovenly Greenpoint bakery, from a coffee shop in Manhattan that carries Ovenly goods. I know I am a total cookie snob and perhaps my expectations were raised high from the glowing reviews, but I unfortunately was not blown away. Yes, the cookie was total PB packed, and soft, and the salt hits the spot if you want something salty, but that is about it. I did not experience the crack factor that makes me want to go back and buy another one. Maybe I should have microwaved the cookie before I ate it… Now, I wonder if my experience would have been different if I bought the cookie at the actual Ovenly location in Greenpoint.

Probably the best bakery in NYC! I love everything here from the blackout cake to the mustard scone. Their little shop in Greenpoint is so adorable with a small view into the back main bakery area. I have their cookbook as well and love making items out of it for friends, colleagues, and myself at home. It might be out of the way if you aren’t from the area but it is 100% worth a little walk into this strange neighborhood. Use Ovenly as a stop between craft Brooklyn breweries in the area!

Ovenly = Heavenly Absolutely adore Ovenly. I’ve been here numerous times and can say this is what a Brooklyn bakery should be. Sweet service, sweet goods. In the summer it’s the best to grab an iced coffee and lil something to nibble on and sit by the water at Transmitter Park, which is literally right there. Their location is small and intimate. You can usually find a seat inside or outside on their bench. Anything they make with chocolate is magic — their salted caramel brownies are my personal favorite. Chocolate truffle cookies are a close second, tied with their pumpkin bread. I’ve never tried their cakes but I imagine them to be euphoric. ~*

Interior is small but cozy with a few two-person tables and a bar. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was hard to choose just one dessert, but I ended up getting the chocolate truffle cookie. The cookie was divine! It was the perfect salty, sweet, dark chocolate-y goodness that I was craving. It may be helpful to note that they have a few gluten free options(one being the chocolate truffle cookie). I plan to make this a regular stop when in Greenpoint.

Cool little coffee and pastry shop at the end of Greenpoint Ave. It’s hard to find if you don’t know they are there. There’s some seating inside, probably 3 or 4 tables. There’s a counter with all of the pastries and snacks they have. Cookies, brownies, quiche and a bunch of other choices. The fresh smell hits you as soon as you walk in. It’s also right by Transmitter Park which is nice to grab and coffee and snack and enjoy the park

I have no idea how we ended up there but we were walking and happen to see a mom pushing her stroller eating this scrumptious looking cookie, we were like«where the hell did she come out from» so we turned the corner and there it was, Ovenly. We went in and were immediately welcomed by the aromas of cinammon and cloves. The girl at the counter was super friendly and was really patient while we took our time deciding on what to order, I had the chai macroons and chocoloate cookie that was more like a brownie and my friend had some scones. All were super moist and very flavorful. We took them back to enjoy later but if I had time I would have loved to sit at their cute café tables and enjoy my morning. Def trying the brooklyn black out cake next

I mean, is it worth it to even leave a review? I feel a huge sense of pride that Ovenly is native GP. Almost every dining spot in the hood serves their delicious pastries which have such a unique spin. Try to cardamom cake when you drop in, your taste buds will explode. I was wandering Tel Aviv earlier this year and dropped in an off the beaten path bookstore. Was so happy to see the Ovenly cookbook displayed in their window! Lovely! You can’t go wrong with a coffee and pastry there. I know people rave about their chocolate chip, but give the peanut butter a go! It’s my absolute favorite and will not disappoint. Also a top place to bring out of towners who want to understand what an amazing neighborhood like GP can offer.

I’ve been wanting to try Ovenly for a while, so made a special trip specifically to try some of their goodies. I splurged and got 2 cookies(chocolate & peanut butter), banana bread and a banana and chocolate chip muffin. I wasn’t a fan of the banana bread or muffin at all. They were very dense and to me didn’t really taste of banana and tasted kind of grainy? The cookies were a lot better and definitely what I would suggest sticking too. They were quite rich and tasted of chocolate and peanut butter. I wasn’t totally sold on the salt thing, but that might have contributed to there good taste. They offer a loyalty card, so when you buy 10 cookies you get one free. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again, but I would pick up a cookie if in the area.

BESTSALTEDPEANUTBUTTERCOOKIESEVER. And they’re gluten free too! I’m actually addicted to these cookies. I get them at Happy Bones, a coffeeshop in SoHo, and it’s an understatement when I say I’m in love with these cookies. Crispier on the outside, moist and wonderful on the inside. Perfect touch of saltiness. Really, the only thing I need in life. That’s all.

I’m slightly cheating. I haven’t been to the actual baker, BUT I went to an event that served these tasty little treats. I don’t normally like peanut butter cookies, but they have some delicious peanut butter cookies. A splash of sea salt to get your mouth roaring and watering. I’m tell you just try one or two if your feeling ballsy. My favorite cookie is a traditional chocolate chip(NO nuts) and I have to say there was something about this cookie, that didn’t really yell at me «another bite please». In fact I like crisp edges, the chips VS chunks. This is my opinion, but a lot of people at the event loved them. I’m an odd one. Enjoy. Cheers

Ran there quickly today for a cookie to enjoy with some freshly-brewed black coffee. I went with the salted peanut butter, which has definitely earned its reputation and is conveniently gluten-free. The servers were all very sweet and smiley :) The cookie itself was soft, had a delicious surface texture and soft, dense inner texture, and tasted so good — this isn’t a cookie that coasts by on its sweetness to be delicious. Quality savory caramel-y peanut butter taste, like eating straight from the jar but better. I feel funny gushing over one cookie. Obvious highlight of my morning.

This is my 2nd visit. I would say this place is a hidden treasure. What’s so good about the cookies here? Unlike the regular ones which super crispy or ones soft as a muffin. Ovenly makes cookies that crispy on its surface and soft in the inside; perfect texture! Pistachio Agave cookie and chocolate truffle cookie are highly recommended! And trust me, you won’t taste these in anywhere else! Definitely a great spot for a weekend branch, can also pay a visit to the park which located right next to Ovenly! Enjoy :)

I love sweets, and that certainly includes pastries. I’m no stranger to the name Ovenly, but I hadn’t yet tried their goods, until now. I visited their flagship store in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Their shop is bright, airy and welcoming, where you can take your things to go, or have a seat at their café tables to enjoy your treats. They’ve been on lots of «best of» lists for their cookies, so, I knew I definitely had to try some. They also offer an array of items from scones, to cupcakes, and brownies. I tried two of their cookies, the first was one of their staple, most popular items, their Salted Chocolate Chip. First off, vegans, this one’s for you. Yes, it’s vegan. Now, I’ve had some amazing vegan baked goods, where you’d never know the difference, and some, well, you could tell the difference. These cookies, you would never know they were vegan, and they’re delicious. They’re soft, buttery(even though it’s not animal butter), with large, gooey, chocolate chips. Its almost tastes like you’re eating cookie dough, focusing on a soft baked cookie rather than a crisp one. Then, you have large, coarse granules of salt on the top for that salty/sweet combination to bring out the flavors. Next, I had their Salted Peanut Butter, which is gluten free. Again, you’d never know the difference. This cookie is also soft baked, and it’s rich in peanut butter taste, with real peanut flavor and none of that artificial taste. You even get some of that peanut texture in the cookie, and the rest melts in your mouth.

My cousin and I almost turned around while walking to Ovenly. The location seemed a little far off the beat and path, and I originally thought we had the wrong address. However walking into the bakery, the most incredible smell hits you in the face. Seriously… I just wanted to bottle it up. The bakery is quaint, but the large glass wall/window makes it seem a lot more open. My cousin had a coffee, and we both got some cookies and bloodies to go. The chocolate truffle cookie was incredible. They garnish it with a little bit of salt as well. My cousin loved the honey blondie. Typical NYC bakery prices… but I would go back here again to try some other things

Ovenly = heavenly At first, I thought may be my GPS did me wrong again — driving around super-narrow West St and around industrial neighborhood was not what I expected. But turn on Greenpoint Avenue towards the water, and here is it, beautiful heavy iron-and-glass door with«Ovenly» written on it… The feel of the area, the closeness to the water — it is all reflects in the space and surroundings, in my opinion. In best way possible. There is something about this place. No pretense, modern, clean, yet simply brilliant and a little nostalgic. Cookies, sweets, bars and cakes. Self-serve coffee. Tiny tables with cute flower arrangements. Cookies are fantastic. Seriously, you gotta try some! I love, love love, pistachio agave. Perfect texture, perfect taste. You know you want some. Go!
