This place is designed to be frustrating. They sell 2x more tickets than they actually have capacity for in the venue. This means that ticket holders get to wait in an hour long line, which is arguably fraud. Next, 80% of their square footage can’t actually see the stage, so they actually sell like 10x more tickets than capacity and it is pretty difficult to see the show you paid for. We had trouble even finding where the artist was, which is a first for me. This, combined with the type of people output attracts pretty much guarantees you are going to be tossed around all night by people who believe they have a god give right to a better spot than you. Finally, they have no where near enough bathrooms and they don’t allow reentry. There was a TSA type bathroom line wrapping around the bar the night I was there. So the big saporros they sell probably aren’t a great idea.
I was output for an event for #everydaypeoplenyc who usually hosts brunch/day parties. On this particular evening it was an album release party for the artist Young Paris an African rapper with family ties from Congo. The event was from 3 – 10. My date and arrived around 6ish and the lines were pretty short. There was a $ 15 cover at the door. We made our way to the roof where all levels were already elbow to elbow. Found a spot on the back level and the started dancing immediately. Djmoma played a mix of afro beats, socal, reggae and the crowd was beyond hyped. While there is no technical dress crowd everyone was summertime fine and comfy trendy. Everybody was dancing and engaging just having a good time. The views from any angle of the roof are beyond amazing. It feels like you can just reach out and touch the Empire state bldg and Manhattan skyline. The performance was inside and slated to begin at 7:30 and even though there was initially some confusion as to which room it was being held in primarily because of the large amount of people they switched rooms twice. Alas we were able to see him in one of the smaller rooms downstairs. Had a fun time dancing. They even had Drummers on hand. Bathrooms were clean and lines moved swiftly. Get anything you want while exiting facilities: candy, gum, cigarettes, body spray etc. Staff is very approachable and respectful and crowds whirl large are for the most part pleasant and just fun. The two unpleasant notes for me were:(1) the faux grass type of surface on the deck is super wet, not sure why and if you’re wearing a maxi like I was(I was at another event earlier and this wasn’t planned) then you are left with a wet hem which sucks,(2) things were a little unorganized around the performance. I will definitely be back.

Hands down the weirdest club I’ve ever been to. If you enjoy watching people stare at each other with minimal interaction then this might be the place for you.

Security made my girl take her eye drops out and use them to prove it was visine. When did clubs turn into chicken shit, dickless losers?

I fear that Output may have outgrown itself. In its early days this was my favorite club in the city, good crowds, good music, and good fun. I loved the«no photo» rule, it really just felt like a different nightlife experience when you came to Output. The last time I was there it was overcrowded and people were snapping pictures all over the place. The crowd was rude and I felt claustrophobic everywhere we stood. It didn’t feel unique anymore.

Probably one of the worst clubs I’ve been to, I certainly do not plan on coming back. I had purchased tickets to see a DJ set on a Saturday night here. I was surprised to see that ticket holders still had to wait in line to get in to see the DJ just like those without tickets. This was frustrating because they would only let a few ticket holders in(doors were at 10 and I arrive around 2 am and still had to wait). When I finally get in I realize they have a security check. After getting groped by the security, I was finally in the actual club. Output is really cool inside and I totally understood why people were waiting in line for this. Unfortunately the excitement passed right away when I realized how terrible the crowd was. Even though there was plenty of room to dance, people kept pushing and shoving each other every second. You honestly cannot have a good time when someone is constantly pushing you or shoving past you. After about 30 minutes of being tossed around, I decided to just leave. At this point I realized the club wasn’t worth the wait or the ticket prices. With such a rude crowd, it’s really impossible to have a good time no matter how drunk you are. Also, this club is a total sausage fest. Way too many guys. Once you get in the club all of them are basically lined up against the wall ready to pounce on any girl that was left alone. Overall lame club. Rude bouncers, expensive drinks, long waiting line, stuck up girls and creepy guys. Would not recommend… clearly.

Douchebag bouncers, rude stuff, incompetent bartenders, disgusting bathroom, diluted drinks, long waits in line. If this is your forte than output fits your standards. Never again will I even contemplate to visit this sethpool they call output.

I’m not a big fan of clubs. I hate dress codes. I hate paying hundreds of dollars for a bottle that costs $ 50, just because a pretty girl is pouring my drinks for me. Output does not have a dress code or «VIP» bottle service. Everyone is there to dance. They even have signs that prohibit you from taking pictures/videos.(Some people take pictures anyway) The sound system is excellent and whoever’s playing is always good. If you’re looking to dance and feel the music, come to Output. They even have a separate, apparently more loungy Panther Room, but I haven’t been in it. I paid a $ 30 cover at the door, and security patted me down before i entered. There is also a mandatory $ 4 coat check, but you’ll want it because it gets hot in there. The club is split into two levels, with the main dance floor on the first floor. Booming bass permeates the entire venue, along with strobe lights and the occasional fog. The upper level surrounds the main dance floor and has those«VIP» style couches other clubs have.(without an extra VIP fee). That being said, Output is still a club, so the drinks are a bit overpriced. They even charge you for water. But my vodka Redbulls were only $ 12 and came with the entire can of Redbull and a good amount of vodka so I’m not complaining. Just come a little bit drunk already and you’ll be fine. Bathrooms were a bit of a mess, but most clubs are. My friend actually got way too drunk and lost his coat check ticket, but fortunately the coat check people took his name and had written the ticket number on his arm. Quick showing of his ID and we got his coat back, no problem.

1 star is kind. Output can blow me. Why do your brain dead bouncers not inform paying patrons going out for a smoke of the upstairs smoke terrace, and then refuse re-entry? Or collect party goodies AND let the person in?(Wait, huh?) This has happened to both of the people I went with to see Daphni recently. Hahaha, are you going to take the mdma in the dark? Get your sh-t together. The Bunker collective prior to Output was so much cooler in both crowd and interior design.

For a minute, I was into it but then they just went ahead and sucked all the fun out of nightlife. They’ve gotten a lot more militant about the entry process and sometimes you feel like you’re going through TSA with the search process. Then once inside the security stalks you like hawks, I get it, they don’t want people doing illegal things and I’m sure lots of people do but there comes a point when you’re just trying to dance and have fun and you start feeling like you’re doing something wrong even though you’re not! The crowd is also very dude heavy on most nights I’ve gone so for a girl it can be a little intense. My friends and I have definitely gotten grabbed and approached in ways we prefer to avoid. The Panther Room is still usually pretty cool, it’s basically like a totally different vibe and place. It’s kind of a shame they’re not more friendly because the sound itself is great and they do get great talent through the door.

Beautiful, classic club in Williamsburg. I came here for Horse Meat Disco, a disco-themed DJ collective that circles through Williamsburg on the 2nd weekend of every month. While sceney in nature, Output has something for every club-goer. An intense, crowded main dance floor with bars both up and downstairs, as well as a separate room(«Panther Room») with a completely different layout and feel. If you go when it’s warm enough, the roof should be open, offering some of the best views of Manhattan you can get. I’ll never forget my 4AM view of the New York City skyline from a Brooklyn rooftop! Also, just to note, the staff here is very professional and friendly!

Had a great time here, didn’t have to wait in line or anything because of a friend of the place. They have a smoke room and roof top. No videos are allowed or photo taking. But I’m a rebel. The music here is only trance/techno so took me a few drinks to get dancing lmao. Overall good people good atmosphere, lots and lots of space and spots to sit. They have heaters in the smoke room so you don’t freeze. They take your coats for $ 8 I think.

I came here to see Madeon this past weekend! Got in around 12:30am– buy pre-tickets– virtually no line. If you wait to get there and buy tickets there will be a huge line that wraps around. Takes about 20−30min from Manhattan to get here via cab– $ 30 cab ride. Not as bad as I thought. Coatcheck for $ 4– hot af inside. It’s super hipster inside and can get really crowded but I like the layout. Go to the top(2nd floor) to see more– it overlooks the first floor. It’s kind of confusing to navigate inside or maybe I was just buzzed… There are seats to sit on the 2nd floor if you get tired, not just for bottle service or anything so that’s a plus. I would come back here even though it’s in Brooklyn and I’m not familiar with the area. Drink prices are your typical NYC prices. Excellent music and hipster venue. It’s really dark inside just like FYI. The only time you can see someone’s face is like outside or if the strobe like comes on. Enter at your own risk.

Came to see Madeon perform. When I got there around 1:45am it was already pretty crowded, and by 2am it was unbearable on the first floor. I was super confused also by the layout of the place, but that’s only because it was my first time there — it wasn’t too hard to figure out by just wandering around, but it was a bit disorienting. I’d say for a venue that is hosting a well known DJ, output is actually the worst I’ve been to, even worse than pacha… The main room is small and there is 0 ventilation. The second floor bar area also gets crowded even though it’s a bit better than the first floor. But unless you’re right by the railing you can’t see anything. But at least it was clean, and the roof was nice. There’s also another bar area on the other side of the roof with another DJ playing, I believe. I think output would be fun on a normal night where people naturally spread out through the whole place. But when they bring a big name like Madeon and the place sells out, and clearly 95% of people are going to stay in the main DJ area rather than chilling on the roof/at the other bar, there just isn’t enough space. Madeon played a great DJ set, but the venue ruined it for me, unfortunately. Probably won’t be back unless it’s for something more low key.

I ain’t no spring chicken anymore, so when a good friend asked me to be his Valentine date to see the legendary iconic Giorgio Moroder, I had to stop being a Granny and dusted off my dancing shoes. I am so glad that Output is everything opposite to what your night club experience typically is. Output was exceptionally clean, well organized entrance routine(one bouncer checked your ID, one bouncer stamped your wrist and gave you an entrance ticket, one lady to frisk me, and one bouncer to finally take our tickets). Coat check was a breeze($ 4) and they were well organized. They gave you a ticket, also asked for your initials, and then wrote the number on the inside of your wrist(good planning as I imagine people lose their ticket, and the numbers on your wrist smudge off, but you will always know your name, hopefully). Output has an area that looks like a coffee shop/diner, so you can enjoy some food and coffee if you’re not exactly in the mood to be on the dance floor. There are two levels for dancing, decent sound system in which you could still have a conversation while music filled the whole place. Bathrooms were clean for club standards with your usual complimentary candy, cigarettes, paper towels(now you know nothing is free, so tip them nicely). The bar serving your standard alcohol(an Asahi and a gin and tonic came to $ 22), pricing definitely better than other clubs in Manhattan. I had a great time here, crowd was diverse, but everyone was courteous and respectful. I also learnt that evening from club goers that Giorgio is 75 years old and only 4 feet 11 inches tall, but wow that man can spin! Excellent experience here with Giorgio and Output. I will definitely be back soon to groove and boogie!

Surprised that this place only 3.5 stars? This is possibly my favorite club outside of Berlin(after Fabric). Excellent music. Great Funktion One sound system. Really appreciate the policies(unpretentious: no dressing up & no table service/no photography/etc… just good music). Only complaint is that it has been a little overcrowded on some visits. Tip: if you’re visiting NY, come here on your last night, check out and leave your bags @ hotel, and fly out the next morning… save a night on hotel that way! The flight back is brutal though haha

if you wear a coat they make you take it off and put it in coat check… I guess thats how they make their money? Also, no taking pictures and videos. So don’t start busting our your phones and taking selfies. The sound system sucks and the music is super loud. My ears were ringing after. I was kind of sad that the rooftop wasn’t open. I guess since its cold out but… you are clubbing and drinking… It can get hot and sweaty. This place is okay. I wouldn’t scream lets go back! It was an interesting experience and I’m glad I experienced it though.

OOONZOOONZOOOONZOOONZ. Output is a club for people who hate clubs as it doesn’t have the perfumed stink of the meatpacking crowd and attracts a healthy variety of scamps and scoundrels who just wanna dance and not pay $ 20 for a weak vodka soda. If you don’t feel like wandering around in dark box for several hours(this is a club afterall) they also have a rooftop so you can catch a breather and talk to your object of lust in a less noisy atmosphere. The crowd ranges from East Village expats to Bushwick art kids and Stacy’s friend from Florida.

I wish it were slightly closer to the L-train, but I’ll still make the trek out here. The night I came, Output was connected with the room next store, so it felt like a mega-club. Output itself has a nice open dance floor and then a second floor that wraps around so you can look down at the masses of semi-naked bodies grinding to the beat. Music obviously depends on who’s DJing but the sound and lights are great. I found it to be very well-ventilated. The dance floor next door is much smaller, but there is a bar and you have the option for different music. There is a staircase leading to the great rooftop area where there is plenty of plush seating and yet another bar. There is a great view of the Manhattan skyline. Great place to get away from the music downstairs. Drinks are good. They had a couple slushie options(it was hot) — so I got the Tequila Sunrise. Great, but pricey($ 14).

So, rauchen will ich. Also ab durch einen Gang, um die Ecke und Zack, der nächste Raum. Schön eingerichtet, wie eine Art Kaminzimmer. Andere Musik, aber auch cooler Electro Sound. Will aber immernoch rauchen.
