I have tried this place twice for its convenient location(F-stop on 7th Ave/9th Street) and preparation of fresh tasting Greek/Mediterranian cuisine. I won’t go deeper into the food description as they closed recently, so there is really no point. It’s a shame that such a nice looking, professional operation had to leave from our area which is getting more and more cluttered with new restaurants by the month. Mostly Sushi, Thai and Italian. And because of the fact that rents on 7th Avenue are through the roof, while no new developments can rise in a brownstone neighborhood, every restaurant that opens up or has been there for a while sees its piece of the pie getting smaller and smaller. I hope they are able to re-open in a neighborhood that is not so saturated with restaurants, or maybe they have another location already. There is an Okeanos in Queens, as far as I know, don’t know if it’s theirs.

Okay so… NEVERORDERFORDELIVERY! I ordered fish and chips, a Greek salad, and Baklava. The fish was soggy and not cooked fully, the chips which were supposed to be fries, were regular potato chips, and the baklava was extremely sweet. The Greek salad was okay but it was plain. It was too overpriced for that meal. Trust me, there is a Greek restaurant on 6th avenue, fairly new, which is much cheaper and more delicious and authentic!

Fresh seafood is definitely a must if you are dining here. If you don’t eat seafood, I would skip this place. Their seafood salad and fish dishes are perfection.

After driving by this restaurant for about a year, I finally made it in. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had the roasted salmon with fingerling potatoes. Really lovely dish. My husband had the Greek paella and he loved it. This may become a return spot.

Went here based on the reviews and the picture thinking it was fish(turns out the unpronounceable pasta dish is lobster tail). They were serving brunch still around 2PM when we came, but they were more than willing to roll out the dinner menu(which that item and most fish options are on) so that was nice. Opted for the Seafood salad on the brunch menu in the end and a steak sandwich(starts with an X). The seafood salad was stated to be perfect, something worth coming back for. The steak sandwich was pretty good, but a bad choice on my part since I usually don’t like eating too much fatty or oily food on one plate. Overall, price is decent, and space is open with plenty of seating. Probably better for dinner, but the brunch options are decent.

Came in by chance about an hour from closing one night and had a beer and the seafood platter. Prawns were clearly previously frozen and tasted like chlorine. Couldn’t eat them. I’ve heard their Greek dishes are good but stay away from the seafood if you know what it’s supposed to taste like when it’s fresh.

I came here to celebrate Father’s Day with my family. They easily still had reservations the day of, which made me suspect that perhaps it may not be as good as some reviews said. Not to worry though: the food and the atmosphere is great! It’s located along Park Slope, which is filled with other great restaurants. Okeanos has a wonderful atmosphere when you walk in. I really love how everything is since it feels so light and airy — you aren’t crowded and you can certainly eat comfortably. On nice days, it seems they have a balcony, so you can eat outside. So onto the food: Wine: Can’t eat great seafood without great wine. The wine list is surprisingly reasonable for a bottle. I definitely recommend getting a bottle since it pairs quite nicely with the food. Htapodi: Grilled Octopus — wow that’s really good. I definitely recommend getting this dish to eat. Mydia: Mussels steamed in lobster bisque: Their mussels are surprisingly much better than other mussel-specific restaurants that I’ve eaten at. The lobster bisque paired with it tastes more like tomato soup than anything, but I still enjoyed eating the mussels with the bisque. It’s a great sauce to dip your bread in. Crab Tiropita Dumplings: A good crab to cheese ratio. I definitely tasted the really fresh crab in it. Moussaka: I love getting this roasted eggplant dish when I go to Greek Restaurants. Very interesting plating: your dish is served in a ginourmous eggplant. This just tasted really wonderful and fresh: the beef with the eggplant had a great flavor to it. Grilled vegetables were grilled to perfection. I really can’t recommend this dish at all — other than the fact that my other family members ordered fish and the fish dishes looked delicious according to them. This place is a wonderful charming restaurant: wonderful service, great ambiance and great food.

Wanted to try this place forever, wished I did sooner but here now! Started with hummus dip, fried calamari and spinach spanakopita all so good but especially the calamari. Dinner we had seafood paella, grilled shrimp with fingerling potatoes and half roasted organic chicken. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Great neighborhood restaurant, very well run too.

Came here for dinner and was very impressed with the presentation and flavor. The food is very well prepared and very fresh. Everything we tried tasted like it was just freshly made to perfection. Great service and a very cozy environment.

Spent my bf’s mother’s day in this establishment. Service was great, nice ambiance and the waitress was super nice. We had a seafood salad, paella, grilled fish, salmon tartar and a melted cheese dish. The seafood was top notch, while the steak was subpar. The steak even though ordered medium rare — tasted plain, rubbery and was gray and not red inside. I had a feeling that the steak was frozen before. All in all we had a great time and I’ll definitely come here for seafood but not the steak.

Let me preface this by saying I haven’t ever tried the food, I don’t even know if the water is good. I almost never write bad reviews as I feel it is unfair to judge people based on their worst moments. However, there is something amiss here. We made a 2PM Mother’s Day reservation for brunch. I know that’s a dicey proposition to begin with but this place was empty when we arrived. We were given the $ 65 prefix menu and were told they no longer were serving brunch. This despite it still saying on their website brunch was served until 4 and not being alerted of the change at the time of reservation nor when we walked in. But mistakes happen. What was worse was when speaking to the waitress about the issue and alerting her we wouldn’t be staying, the manager or owner came over and said«what’s the problem?!» We were told that other restaurants change their brunch times and we should«assume» that all bets are off. His attitude was condescending and arrogant. I didn’t realize I had to be hazed before enjoying good Greek food, mother’s day or other. I won’t be going back here and if you value good service you shouldn’t either.

Amazing Greek place in the slope! From the fast and attentive service to the simple décor, everything was great. The food was absolutely delicious. Have to say it’s one of the best Greek restaurants I’ve been to in NY. We got Greek mojitos for drinks and started with a few apps; the spanakopita(fluffy and rich), the three dips with warm pita press and the calamari stuffed with feta(not fried, fresh calamari). Everything was perfect. For the main course I got moussaka, which was served in a whole eggplant with veggies. My friend got the seafood risotto. Both really great dishes. Price wise it’s a little on the expensive side for a casual mid evening dinner. I would definitely come back.

Visited Okeanos on Saturday evening and had a great experience. Its located right off the 7AVE stop so its really easy to get to. The décor of the restaurant is what impressed me most. Okeanos has simple yet beautiful décor, huge widows, and a glass fish display. The service here is also exceptional. My waitress explained most of the menu items and was attentive but not over bearing. If you’re looking for some great fish come here! I had the seafood salad and it was PERFECT! Seasoned well, not too small, and the right ratio of shellfish. My friend had fish(I forget which kind) and it was good. A little over cooked, but tasted decent nonetheless.

We had a very pleasant experience at Okeanos. The food was absolutely fantastic. We ordered the spanakopita as an app as well as the salmon and fish & chips for entrees. The spanakopita came out so hot! The outside ends were okay, but we didn’t realize the inside was much hotter, thus we both burned the roofs of our mouths. Regardless, it was delicious. Love the interior décor. The silver and blue is stunning. Very clean restroom. The service, however, was very reserved and limited. I prefer a much more interactive and attentive waitstaff.

My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night with a reservation scheduled for 7:30 p.m. When we arrived at Okeanos, we were immediately seated. The restaurant has a nice décor and is pretty laid back. We got an appetizer of Revithia Hummus and Tzatziki dips with Pita bread. I enjoyed the Tzatziki dip and strongly recommend it. Our Unilocal deal came with a free glass of wine with a selection of an entrée. For entrées, I chose the Moussaka — well-cooked eggplant with beef and the nutmeg scented béchamel sauce gave the Moussaka a delicious flavor. My boyfriend tried the Pastichio which was served with grilled vegetables. Topped with cheesy béchamel sauce, the layered pasta and ground beef was on point and satisfying. The plates were very tasty and the perfect portion size, we had enough to stuff ourselves! Our waiter was very attentive, helpful and outgoing with us. Great place to grab some Greek food if you’re around the Park Slope area. Will definitely come back again!

I would describe my experience at this restaurant as Delightful! Service was on point & so was the food! It was mmmmm mmmmm good! None of my guests and I had one complaint. My sister in law got a chicken dish and she was satisfied. The rest of us got fish; each dish was well cooked and delicious with great combination of flavors. I was able to experience the daily special of the almond crusted swordfish — ughhhh it was sooooooo goooood! Fall apart deliciousness. Great service + Great food = Satisfied customer & I will most definitely be back :)

Environment: 5⁄5 Employees: 3⁄5 Food: 4⁄5 Drinks: 3⁄5 Cost: 3⁄5 Accessibility: 5⁄5 Total: 23⁄30 Synopsis: After a failed attempt to see Janelle Monáe at Prospect Park, Francis and I were starving… like on our death bed. What to eat? After baiting for so long, we decided on Okeanos… not only because of their review, but their meal came with a glass of wine! Yup! I am there. The wine went perfect with our Htapodi and Greek Paella. The Karidopita… was the best thing ever! Like ever! Not too sweet, and it just melted in your mouth like butttaaahhhhhh then you had a crunch from the walnuts. The Napoleon Kataifi was okay as well, but in comparsion… nah. The service was good overall, but it seemed a bit too busy for only having two servers. In terms of accessibility, it is very close to the train spot for your convenience! Environment: It is quite a fancy place when you walk in. Nice bar, fresh fish frozen with bell peppers. Why bell peppers? I have no idea. Then when you look at the ornate etchings on the roof, it’s just amazing along with the dry wood hanging that came from the beach. :D The tables are spaced just right, without feeling snugged, and without the business wasting precious space. The lighting makes it very romantic, and you are then surprised at the prices are cheaper than the environment you would suspect would exude. Employees: Both of the gentlemen were nice, but didn’t seem to put enough light under their fire. It was kind of terrible that they both had to service and bus their own tables, especially because it got BUSY! What?! Someone must have called out or something. Womp, womp. But at the same time, there didn’t seem to be a panic, when they came to the table… just they need to be more mindful of the order of people who sat down first. :D Food: Htapodi: This just made you want even more. With the hummus and oil on it, it couldn’t have been more perfect. For some reason people in NYC know how to cook octopus to perfection and it is a difficult skill to hone. Two thumbs up. Man. just writing this makes me want to have it. Rawr! 5⁄5 Greek Paella: This dish was definitely on the lighter side and required a bit more flavor. Tomato and orzo… meeh…I wish we got something else… but because I ate it on combination with my wine it wasn’t terrible. 2⁄5 Karidopita: Walnut goodness. It was very light, moistness throughout. It was just perfect. I couldn’t get enough of it and I just wanted more. Butttaaahhh like with walnut crunchiness. Mmm. BUTTTAAHH! 5⁄5 Napoleon Kataifi: More deceiving than not. It looks fabulous, but the taste hasn’t caught up to it. Definitely okay, but doesn’t beat my Karidopita. No sirrrreee!!! 3⁄5 Drinks: Had the house Cab with this. Nothing noteworthy. 3⁄5 Cost: For the price, you definitely do not get as much as you hoped, but by getting the right dishes(Yes, I am referring to the five stars I have next to the food section), it makes it all worth it… trust me! Accessibility: Easily accessible by the train. I hope to come here on another day… when I am in this neck of the woods. Choo. chooo!

I ordered some seamless takeout from here, which is probably not the greatest way to experience this place, so I’ll reserve full judgement for another time. They had some problem registering the seamless order apparently, so when I went in, I still had to end up waiting. They were extremely apologetic and offered bread and stuff while I waited. The Horiatiki salad was outstanding. Good feta, good tomatoes. The chicken kabob platter was okay. I’d come back here to try dining in.
