Greek Xpress

it was only ok. the chicken was great. the souvlaki was dry, the lemon potatoes were lousy, and I didn’t like the greek sausage (just me). the greek salad was very good, although the dressing was weird. it was kind of like greek fast food.

All I remember after my first boxing class is that I was famished and exhausted, we ordered and I shoved an entire chicken pita sandwich in my mouth. It was delicious, juicy, flavorful. I devoured it. The order also included a cheeseburger (devoured) and Greek fries (thin McDonald’s-type, with salt and oregano on top). Delivery was speedy and and guys on the phone are sweet.

First, I have to say I called for a delivery order at 9:29 (they close at 9:30) in hopes that they would deliver, and they graciously did. I ordered the Cheeseburger platter, which came with choice of a salad plus a side for $ 13.00. I chose the greek salad and lemon potatoes. The salad was amazing… It was much bigger than a side salad, and it came with a good dressing, plus a big amount of feta cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. The burger was also very big and cooked perfectly (they actually asked me how I wanted it cooked). But the highlight was the lemon potatoes… They gave a big side order, but honestly I could have eaten 3 more portions, they were that good. I definitely recommend this place, and the fact that I ordered a minute before they closed, and they were so accommodating and all the food was fresh, is a big plus in my book. The food was really delicious.
However, it was very salty, especially the tzaziki. I love tzaziki and have had it from at least 10 Greek restaurants (in NY and in South Florida) but this was by far the saltiest. Which is a shame because the consistency, flavor and the way the cucumber was shredded were perfect. All the dishes we tried (chicken souvlaki, spanakopita, greek salad, rice, and zucchini fritters) had unique flavor and spices.
But please! Half the salt would be plenty! It’s actually distracting from the real flavor of the dishes.

Their pita is on point. But, they are a bit overpriced. I got a small chicken sandwich and paid almost $ 10 for it. While it was tasty, it was not very filling. Maybe the platter has more bang for your buck. Try it out!

It’s ok, staff are very nice but the food was ok. I had the Greek salad and the spinach pie spanakopita and it was soft. I like the spanakopita to be flaky and crispy but it was mushy and soft instead. It tasted good but I guess everyone has their own preference. The food here tasted like something from a food court at the mall. But I may come back to try the chicken kabobs.

I previously gave this restaurant 5 stars upon my first visit. Today was my first time ordering and as you can see… It is now receiving 1 star. The food was ordered using the service here on Unilocal called EAT24. It stated 45min-​1 hr wait. I then received a confirmation email stating a confirmed deliver of 45 mins. After waiting 1hr 10 mins, I called the restaurant inquiring about my order and was placed on hold for 5 (long) minutes. They eventually stated that they never received it. I was completely frustrated at this point and did not want to reorder. After about another 10 min wait on my part, my bell rang and the delivery guy is standing there holding my «never received» order. Now to the food experience: I ordered a Caliente burger and curly fries. I ordered the burger medium well. Upon opening my order, the bun was soggy and the meat was Luke warm at best. Upon biting into the burger, it was pink in the center… More medium rare. The curly fries were no better either. They were Luke warm and excessively soggy. Needless to say, I am truly disappointed with the recent service.

So happy we took a chance and ordered form here! This is good Greek food that’s not all the way in Astoria! I ordered the falafel with rice and tzatziki. It was VERY tasty and enough food for two meals. My husband ordered the chicken and beef pita platter and loved it. Again, enough food for two meals. Each entrée came with a salad option and we got greek salads. The salads were great; very fresh feta used. We also ordered extra tzatziki, which I recommend doing because it is so good. Over all, this was a great meal which seemed to be a little on the pricey side until we saw how much food we got and literally made it into two meals. Definitely going to order from here again!

After I found this place, I ordered takeout 3 times in two weeks.
The prices for the platters may seem a little high, but you get so much stuff that I think it’s a bargain.
My favorite menu item is the chicken souvlaki. With the good food and quick delivery, I’m sure that I will order again soon.

Ordered the wings, descent but not the best. Gyro burger, not good. Greek salad with greek/​vinaigrette, dressing tastes like strong mustard and not good at all. lemon potatoes, pretty good. hummus, not good/​bland. I paid $ 50 with tip for a disappointing meal and wont be ordering here again.

Upon talking with the pleasant customer caring employees and owner of this place I decided to give it another try. I brought my wife for a second opinion and here are the results.
You do have to ask for the things I’m more accustomed to being on a gyro such as the cucumbers and lettuce. All of which taste very fresh. The gyro had more tzatziki sauce than last time and they also gave us extra on the side. Seems to be made on site and very good. The lamb itself still tasty but still a little too well done for me and my wife (crispy on the sides and some full pieces). If you’re looking for good Greek gyro in this area I recommend going here.

We ordered chicken sandwich and gyro sandwich. The taziki sauce is to die for! The chicken was oh soooooo juicy. Both sandwiches were so good!!!

I’ve never been a fan of Greek food until I tried this place. The beef is so flavorful, the lemon potatoes are amazing, their sauces are to die for and the staff is awesome. Love this place

My search is over. I use to have to go to queens all the way from park slope to the souvlaki king just for good shish ka bobs!!! (The king is still the king!) but I hate going so far!
This place here makes the most juicy most flavorful chicken and pork shish ka bobs. The meat on it is not as big as the king but idc it’s just so good. The tzaziki sauce is so good I ate it spread all over the best pita bread I’ve ever had! Delivery was fast and very friendly. Fries were good as well! Packaging very neat too!
I will always and I mean it always order from here. Please stay where you guys are I’m so amazed!!! Thank you for bringing true real good Greek food to Brooklyn!

Look at this gyro! Good lord! Tastes as good as it looks. My kids like the chicken fingers which are very crunchy on the outside and juicy and not overlooked on the inside. The fries are good too and they put oregano on them.

This review is not about the food, but about their practice of stuffing tons of menus through my mailbox despite one sign on the fence and another on the front door stating not to do so. Pretty much ensures I’m not going to want to eat at your business if you can’t respect your neighbors.

I was passing through the area on Friday and decided to drop in. I ordered the chicken pita, gyro, greek salad and feta fries. Everything we had was absolutely awesome. The staff was very friendly. I would definently recommend this place to anyone.

Great Food! Ordered this afternoon with a few of my friends. They have a great list of lunch specials just for $ 8.50 and included a drink! The service was excellent. Food came fast and tasted great. Will definitely be ordering again!

I was driving on prospect park west and saw the Greek Xpress sign. I was a bit hungry and I love Greek food so I stopped in.
The place is small but the thing I immediately noticed was how clean it is. They definitely seem to specialize in deliveries and pick up, although they had a small counter and that’s where we sat. I had the Gyro Platter with Rice and Greek Salad. The Gyro was one of the best I ever had! The rice was very flavorful and the side Greek Salad was huge. My wife had a Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich on Pita and she loved it. She said the tzatziki was great — not too strong and very flavorful. I was in the mood for hot coffee but they do not serve any hot coffee.
Overall a great meal

Really tasty Greek food! I was worried about trying another new Greek place after a recent bad experience elsewhere, but Greek Xpress did not disappoint! My husband and I both got the chicken platter and the chicken was good, lemon potatoes were flavorful and you get a lot of them, the side salads were also a generous size and fresh! We weren’t a fan of their house dressing, but that isn’t something I’d hold against them. It’s just a taste preference. We also ordered their spicy feta dip and it was delicious. I am looking forward to ordering again!
