Nova Bar

Super chill spot with friendly bartenders, and so far they’re booking a great cast of DJs that do their thing. Non-​pretentious vibe and reasonably-​priced drinks also make this a spot I’ll definitely be coming to again and again.

This is seriously the hottest new bar in Brooklyn.
First off, the music and dancing here is the big draw for me. Shortly after opening, Rich Medina did a set here, but even the house DJs get the crowd moving. On top of that, a lot of folks come through who just really love getting down, so the spirit’s always high there.
And if you don’t have your dancing chops down, don’t sweat it. First, it’s totally unpretentious and, second, there’s a salsa class there tonight and there’ll be more dance classes as the seasons moves forward.
If chill conversation’s your thing, though, there’s also an outdoor space that’s open on top and has plenty of seating and some nice greenery. Rumor has it, they’ll start screening films out there, too.
Finally, the crowd there is really open and friendly and the house drinks are absolutely delicious (even if you don’t drink alcohol).
