I ended up there after visiting the BK museum.
The food was delicious
The staff were excellent hard working customer care specialist.
I know this has nothing to do with the food, well maybe the ambient. But all the staff members were not only fast, & diligent but they were ALL well groomed /​good looking.
When the food came out, not only was it presented well it was a good portion and delicious!
The food was yum yum delicious!!!
I had oxtails, roti, rice and peas, fried bananas and it was delicous and done to perforction

The waiter was very short with me and had some attitude.
I walked out cuz he’s attitude was not worth it.

The food is Really good Here and the Servers are so attentive … My server was really cute LOL ! The drinks are strong ! The call a Cab omg I Love it. I will Be back oh Yea The Music Kept me rocking ! Glad to see this Place going

I finally had an opportunity to dine at Island Cz Café, a small Jamaican restaurant located in my neighborhood. I ordered the chicken oxtail rasta pasta (pasta marinated in homemade Alfredo sauce, onions, garlic, peppers, carrots, Island CZ spice) for $ 19 since I was curious and wanted to compare their dish to the infamous Footprints Café. I was very satisfied. It was an excellent portion, rich, creamy, and so delicious. Service is a bit slow despite the few patrons that were present at the time (5:30pm on a Saturday), but overall the politeness of the staff made it a great experience. Very authentic Jamaican music playing lightly in the background makes it easier for conversation. The televisions were tuned to sports, but there were no captions so if you’re at the bar it’s difficult to follow along. Nice, spacious single stall unisex bathroom. I hated that the back door, located near the restroom, was open so there was a draft.

Umm, maybe it was the day I went. My family likes this place, but unfortunately the last time I went they had not so great service.

Was not planned was walking by place looks very clean and inviting .the staff was very welcoming, complimentary banana chips great ordered jerk chicken wings very very delicious spicy just the way I like it .the brown stew red snapper was amazing can’t wait to go back again.

This is my first review. After seeing other reviews I had to write. My guy and I came here for my birthday. We had reservations. The table was set up very pretty. We were greeted by very friendly staff. Nice tunes a play. Dj was playing nice reggae. Complimentary banana chips served with sweet sauce. We ordered our drinks, after a little while we ordered food. My guy the escovitched whiting, I the oxtail rasta pasta. The food came really fast. I was surprised with all the negative reviews, I expected a long wait. Well our food came really fast. Food was delicious… Oxtail melted off the bone, rasta pasta very flavourful. As I’m writing my review, I was surprised with a slice of red velvet cake, staff sang happy birthday. On top of that they gave me a drink on the house!!! Authentic Jamaican cuisine in a classy atmosphere. A hidden gem in crown heights. If you love good Caribbean food, check them out, you won’t be disappointed! We will definitely be back!

There is no shorage of Caribbean restaurants in Brooklyn;however, this place is top notch in service and food was out if this world amazing (I.e. THE BEST OXTAIL RASTA PASTA IN THE Brooklyn). I give this place an A all the way. Same as the rating posted on the door.
The place is intimate and has a true flair of being in the island. The waitress was pleasant, catering, and smiled ever time she came to our table. Great service!
To the reviewers who said there was slow service that is part of the Caribbean way. Sit back relax enjoy a glass of wine or a rum punch.
I will be back for sure.

I had the curry goat with steamed veggies, I had to stop eating my food and post a review on Unilocal.Not only was the food delicious, the chef took his time and made it with LOVE !!! In addition the woman at the counter was so so so so sweet and polite !!! The restaurant is clean and set up nicely !!! Although i live in Harlem I will definitely be taking a trip back often just for the wonderful customer service and the exceptional food !!! Thank u so so much

My dining experience at Island CZ (pronounced seas) was very good. To be honest I was a bit skeptical because of the not so good reviews.
My friend assured me that the food was good because she had visited in the past. The first thing that I noticed was the «A» grade outside on the window which makes a bit happy.
As we waited for a friend to come and dine with my friend and I, the waitress was kind enough to let us sit down and wait for her.
The décor was simple but nice. Just enough decorations without it feeling or looking like too much.
Our food orders arrived at the same time which was great because I was ready to eat.
The food was amazing and so delicious and I was well pleased with my choice.
We sat there in the restaurant for hours after eating just conversing and enjoying each other’s company with no attempts from the staff to kick us out. The waitresses were very nice and attentive, they were always checking to make sure that we were good. I would definitely come back here to dine again.

Great spot to go to for live Music while dining. Waiters could do a little better with customer service I asked two different people for a glass of wine that was never brought to me until a friend went to the bar and brought the drink to me.

The food here is underrated (people often come for the karaōke) and very delicious.
I’d recommend the banana chips and curry goat. Both are great, gluten free, and yummy!
The drinks are also fantastic: try the punch.
Overall, a strong, strong recommendation for the food (and the entertainment scene, if that’s your cup of tea – or punch).

Had a great light lunch. Service was friendly and fast, they do not rush you out the door and will modify meals to meet your needs!

My mom wanted to go out for happy house and catch up after work. Her friend recommended this place. The food was great we had mango wings, mini beef patties and fritters for app. Happy hour was great, the drinks were cheap. We had the rum punch & it hit the spot !! The only issue we had was with the entrée, I ordered the coconut shrimp with rice. When I think of coconut shrimp first thing I imagine is crispy shrimp. That not what I received. What I got was shrimp in a veggie mix and white sauce :(it was disgusting… I told the waitress and she said the description was on the menu –_​_​_​-​. It so wasn’t worth the 20 $. Since the waitress was so nice we didn’t send it back. We just threw it out. It tasted nothinggg like coconut
I would only come here again for the apps & happy hour.

Ordered via seamless, took over 3 hours to deliver and I love within 5 blocks. When I called the first time, after waiting 90 minutes, I was informed the food would «get there when it gets there». The Jerk chicken plate was missing the plantains, it was fine but nothing worth waiting 3 hours for. The boneless chicken roti was dry. The mac and cheese had been under a heat lap so long there was no cheese left.
I’ve been disappointed with restaurants before, but this place enraged me. Its clear they don’t give a flying fig about your order one they’ve got your money. So please, for the sake of your wallet and your sanity, go anywhere else. ANYWHERE else.

So I had to come back and up the starts. I decided to give this place another shot. So first paragraph is review based on second visit and 2^nd paragraph is based on first experience. I’d say skip the delivery and just walk over. My delivery experience was terrible but in restaurant dining is much better. The staff is friendly and they have the best curry goat in the neighborhood
I’m sure I;m not the first person to complain about time with this place. I was told that order would take an hour. it’s now been 2 hours and 15 minutes and still no order. O wait, they just rang the bell…2 hours and 20 mins later for 1 roti.

I visited the resturant on 2÷26÷15 with my Bestfriend. We came into the resturant because we were having cocktails at a resturant across the street and was unsatisfied with their food options. We had a taste for delicious food. The resturant was empty and we warmly greeted. The hostess brought out freshly fried banana chips… we immediately ordered bellinis… Delicious…they were peach. .For entrée I had the Steamed Snapper with Roce/​Peas & Steamed Vegetables. Oh my… The food was Exquisitely Delicious… The presentation was Beautiful. .My Bestfriend had Jerked Salmon… Rice/Peas.Steamed Veggies… We couldn’t stop eating it was sooo delicious. .We took some to go home because we were full. I cant wait to go back and try something else on the menu…

I really enjoyed cz café because the environment was great. It was super zen and the service was great. I will definitely be back again. :)

Will be back, and I don’t even mess with Brooklyn like that. Lol it was nice vibe with good food and even better service! The 2.5 stars are definitely by non Caribbean’s I’m sure because this place made me feel right at home!

Ordered delivery through grubhub and usually the estimated time of delivery is over-​shot or spot on. An hour and 45 minutes later I’m still waiting for my fried chicken. So, naturally, I call the restaurant. They tell me that they make their fried chicken to order, which is all well and good, but last time I checked, it takes less than 30 minutes to make fried chicken. Now, I can’t tell you if it was worth the wait, because I’m still waiting… I’m wondering if I were to order the fried chicken inside the restaurant if it would still take an hour and a half to get to the table. This wait is absolutely atrocious and unacceptable. If things get backed up at the restaurant and someone’s food is going to take significantly longer than expected, you call, apologize, and try to make good. You don’t let someone wait 2 hours for their food!
And I still couldn’t tell you if the food is any good, because in the 8 minutes it’s taken me to write this the delivery driver still hasn’t shown up. I placed the order just after 7:00. It’s now 8:59.
Edit: My food finally showed up at about 9:15 and my order wasn’t even correct. I asked for a salad in place of the cabbage, the restaurant even called me to confirm that I wanted salad in place of the cabbage. The side of jerk sauce I asked for was missing, and (if you can believe it) the chicken that took 2 hours to arrive at my door was under cooked and even bleeding. I would like to revoke the 20% tip I tacked on when I initially ordered. I spoke to grubhub about everything and when they contacted the restaurant they refused to reimburse me any of my money or even offer an apology. My whole experience with this place has been utterly horrendous. It would be nice if someone at Island Cz would contact me and try to make good, but I doubt they even care.
Side note: the delivery driver was very pleasant.
