They DO have the best mojitos. THEYDO! The people are nice, the food is so good, and it’s so relaxing when the doors open up in the summer time.

We were quickly seated, the area was dirty and dusty. As if the crumbs from the table was just dropped on the seats and the seats that was once gray/white are now almost black. Once seated we received the menus and waited 15 – 20 mins before our drank order was taken. Keep in mind we had to go find the waitress since it seemed they obviously forgot about us. Food was good we had the steak and the Aron de pollo I think both were good. Also had the pork chops and some shrimp. The mojitos were amazing passion fruit and mango superb. Overall I’d give a 3 since I had to call the waitress multiple times and how dirty the place was. The ambience was also was nice and chill.

This was my first time here, and it won’t be my last!!! The food was delicious! The staff was friendly and accommodating. The portion sizes are huge. You’ll definitely be taking food home. When you go, try the empanadas, chili dusted fries, and the braised oxtails. Ideya will not disappoint.

Ideya has gone downhill since it left Soho for Brooklyn. I hadn’t been in a while and a pre-concert dinner with friends drew me back. Drinks were slightly off: virtually no ginger beer in the Moscow Mule and a bad Dark and Stormy, too. The sangria rojo was fine but a bit thick in an odd way. The bacalaitos were tough and overly salty. Sopa de pollo was okay but the broth was watery. Empanadas — I had chicken — were the best offering. A meh experience overall.

It’s been a long time since I’ve received such horrible service. I was one of 3 tables only and with less than 10 ppl in the place you’d think between the two servers, bartender and busser I’d be able to get a second drink. Apparently though, there are urgent texts to be sent and hair to be primped. Once I was halfway through my main I asked nicely if my drink was on the way to be met with a snarly«yeah. He’s making it» I glanced over her shoulder at the motionless bartender. Then the drink appeared which clearly had been sitting there for some time because the ice had melted. I never saw my server again and for the first time, I left a tip of less than 20%.

Great, friendly service. Solid happy hour! Good food and reasonably priced for the neighborhood. The atmosphere was fun and carefree without being loud or annoying whatsoever.

The establishment is nice and clean however the food was extremely bland. My husband and I was a bit disappointed. I most likely will not be back since great tasting food is a major factor for us.

Two of us walked in on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away, but ignored for the following 15 minutes. No one checked in with us, asked for our drink order, or acknowledged. Pretty sure they didn’t even notice us when we walked out. I usually give restaurants the benefit of the doubt… But they weren’t busy and made eye contact with us a few times. It felt like they deliberately ignored us. Won’t be going back which is unfortunate because we were really excited to try this place.

I went here with a friend after we decided we didn’t want to endure he wait for Geido, since it was a bitterly cold night. The menu looked good and it was pleasantly dark inside; the music was great and diners looked happy. There were a few tables available but not so many that it was alarming(Friday night, 7:30 pm). They gave us a great spot and great drinks and plantain chips and salsa which was really good. My mistake though is that I ordered the vegetales(I am on a vegetarian kick) and it was really pretty terrible. Mushy, unidentifiable vegetables all sort of mashed together in a cake. I realize that this is perhaps how this dish is supposed to be prepared but what I liked about it least is that it was cold. We also ordered corn on the cob which was basically frozen corn smeared with velveeta and some paprika. My friend ordered the steak and she said the meat was decent, her sides were also cold and really over cooked. The waiter was hard to get ahold of even though by 8:15 the place was half empty. In short — great atmosphere and great drinks. And usually I do really enjoy Latino-Caribbean food.

I absolutely love this place. The music is always right and the food is amazing. I have been here for Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner. Each menu has tons to choose from and the flavors are authentic. Being caribbean I can say the food reminds me of home cooking. Also the staff is very accommodating and attentive. Being only blocks away from the Barclay’s center it is the perfect place for before or after a game. I recommend this place to everyone I know

I was walking by and saw not a soul inside, but they had a sign that said $ 6 margaritas, so I was lured in. 2 other ladies walked in with me. Just the 3 of us. That should’ve been a sign. Nevertheless, I continued. While the young lady taking orders was sweet, she didn’t know much and to answer questions; a sign of poor training. The gentleman was inattentive and too focused on chatting than serving. Still, I waited for the food to give the final judgment. It very average, and I didn’t at all enjoy the flavor palette, which wouldn’t be too much of an issue if it wasn’t overpriced. The margarita? Salty and sadly weak with regard to alcohol content. Just an overall bad experience. Once again, the young lady was so sweet. I hope she finds another job, where she can be trained properly and excel. I won’t be going back here, ever.

Comfy and tasty Caribbean food. The oxtail was very soft, yummy and comfy. Vegetables were cooked just right, not over cooked. Tasty cocktails and great music too. When I arrived, a couple of people started salsa. Great fun! Super convenient location, close to subway.

Came here after work for a drink and was pleasantly entertained by our awesome bartender Darryl. He gave us great suggestions for drinks and was really enjoyable to talk to. I ordered the mango margarita and it was really tasty. We also had the passion fruit scallop ceviche as an appetizer. The complimentary plantain chips and dip are also tasty! Couldn’t stop eating it!

I love Ideya. I regularly visited the restaurant when it was in SOHO so I was happy to come across it for New Years dinner. Kudos to them for not jacking the menu prices up astronomically. The music was great. Cheers to whoever the DJ was :) I always order the Salmon and Collard Greens. ALWAYS it’s sooo good. I’m so happy that it is still on the menu after all of these years. Great food great Vibe. Defnitely one of my favorite places in NYC.

Not just for food, which was terrific, but music as well. The fried plantains were superb, crisp and not oily, and the seafood on cucumbers was superb. Other appetizers, including the empanadas were authentic and tasty! I’m sure the beverages are firs trade, but since I don’t drink alcohol… Not just a place for eating, but music as well. Wonderful atmosphere, but indeed noisy Why not. Not just for young’uns either. The other great thing, for this angeleno, is that it’s a stone’s throw from the«Q: and GPS had me pointed in another direction. THANKGOD a fellow named NICK knew where the Subway entrance was!

In love! First time I came for dinner with a group and everything was amazing. From the camarones to the Arroz con Pollo to my Dark N Stormy, straight perfection. I told my best friend about Ideya and she was ecstatic to come try out their food. We came in for brunch yesterday and had the best experience. The food, drinks and service was amazing once again. Mango mimosas?! Yum! Pina Colada french toast?! Delightful Complimentary jalapeño cornbread?! Unique and delicious Rice and beans?! Authentic as hell Salmon?! Cooked just how we asked(well done) but still moist with all the right seasonings Sautéed kale?! Healthy and flavorful I really love this spot, like everything about it. Our server Fausto is the man, the décor is bright and eye catching(down to the hanging gummy life savers along the windows) and my food has been great on both occasions. I will definitely be back

Crazy rainy night craving Spanish food we stumbled upon this spot. Got to tell you… I am so happy we did! Pros: right outside the Q., great flavorful meat, delicious food. Cons: surprised we didn’t get rice with our meal but happy at the same time. Cheers, Mona

I had a good time here! It was a sunny day and the set up of this restaurant is awesome. We didn’t feel like sitting outside in the sun, but they have an indoor part that opens up to outside. I’m mad we didn’t try any drinks, but we did try the food and it was yummy. I had the Cuban sandwich with a side of chili dusted fries. For the price and quality I was very happy with my selection. My friend ordered the Camerones(shrimp) and plantains. Plantains were yummy! For the atmosphere, price, service, and quality of food this is a great place to go.

I frequent this establishment pretty often which puzzles me why I haven’t written a review for it until now. This has to be one of my fav restaurants/bars in NYC and seeing that I live in Harlem it is quite a journey for me. BUTTOTALLYWORTHIT. I think it is my fav because of the food, customer service, and that Cheers feeling when I am at the bar. The staff here is wonderful and honestly they have some of the most personable servers. I normally sit at the bar alot and the bartenders and Juan and Carlos are pretty damn awesome. This isn’t a large restaurant but what I love is how they make use of their space without feeling overcrowded. Some of my fav things include their passion fruit mojitios. They are so tasty and I pretty much drink them like they are water. They advertise they have the best mojitios and they are not lying!!! They have so many flavor like coconut, guava, and others. ALSOGIVETHEMAMAJUANA a try if you like dark liquor. You will thank me later. Off their food menu some of my favs are Arroz Con Pollo. This was my first dish from them and they presentation for this dish knocked my socks off. As far as appetizers I recommend the Empanadas and Camarones.
